  1. I'm old enough to fume over diesels since the 60's. Don't spend any money on any thing except some Power Service fuel treatment. Most likely your fuel gelled and it could take 3 or 4 days to return to liquid after these near 0 temps. Leave it alone till tomorrow afternoon, it's supposed to be in the mid 50s tomorrow. Try it then, if it starts, double dose it with Power Service, if it doesn't you have ruled out gelled fuel. I believe it will start. Let us know.
  2. 14 degrees here in balmy northwest TN.
  3. Beale St. At certain times they have the walk thru metal detectors set up.
  4. I agree with a lot of what you said but so far, in Tennessee anyway, after the .10 cent ammo stamp, the tax rate is the same as any other general merchandise item.
  5. Toys R Us before Christmas? That can be one dangerous place!
  6. Just in case everyone doesn't know it yet, ALL post offices, anywhere and everywhere are posted, whether there's a sign or not.
  7. How will that change anything? He's not doing anything criminal.
  8. +1 if we're talking just 45 here the PM45 is worth a look. Very easy for me to conceal. The biggest drawback for me is 5+1. However, you can buy 6 and 7 round mags, but there goes easy concealment.
  9. A few Levi's are still made in the US. BUT, they are in the $200 range. That bit of information was shared by a teenaged granddaughter. She knows the stuff I don't.
  10. Places that serve alcohol are not off limits, as long as YOU don't drink alcohol. Welcome to Tennessee.
  11. How would this help? What they're doing isn't illegal. If I'm buying a box of ammo and I need it I wouldn't care if it had Walmart stamped on it or not.
  12. I've got the option to buy one or the other. I've got an 870 long barrel that I've had for years and it's been through hell and back without a hiccup. Now I'm getting the short barrel tactical version. I want to hear from people who have an 887 and their experience.
  13. Many years ago an east TN politician who fancied east Tn better than west TN managed to insult lots of people with this quote: "Tennessee could give Shelby county to Arkansas and raise the IQ of both states." I'll resist any editorializing at this point.
  14. Don't take it personally. My sarcasm switch was turned to 100% that day. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity. I won't ever do it again until the next time. :)
  15. Thank you for the perfect end to my day!
  16. I'm pretty sure these guys are not operators...
  17. Before there were any of those bound up papers called "magazines" a magazine was a room or building for the storage of ammunition. The moral is that language is constantly changing. Me, I haven't changed a bit since Nixon was president! :)
  18. This isn't too far away from you. It's great for a weekend. You'll see many more 4wheelers than bikes but all are welcome. http://windrockpark.com
  19. The federal government has shut down 17 times in the past. After every one of those the pay was restored to all those furloughed. So I feel reasonably confident that it will be done this time. It is true IF it were to drag out for weeks there would be real pain for furloughed workers. However, I'm going out on a limb again and say that this time next week we'll be talking about something else that's about to end life as we know it.:)
  20. Try this one: https://www.reagan.com/?gclid=CKzEpaTW9rkCFZA-Mgodb34AnQ
  21. Just a thought: After the government shutdown in 1995 the GOP GAINED seats in the '96 elections. I'm not prophet but I do read my history, and for me that's current events.:)
  22. More like the cold, hard truth.
  23. Exactly. ^ It usually is reported like this: "...was involved in a shooting outside a strip club." You never hear about an athlete involved in a shooting outside a library. Why is that?
