1. May be a little late on a reply but I got one as a Christmas present 2011. Very comfortable. Easy to slip on and off and is water proof. Mine came from Quantico Tactical Supply and was on sale. Very good looking jacket and with a number of excellent features. If cold you need to layer up.
2. I agree. Would help to solve a lot of probems. If the people wanted it bad enough it could happen. I would also like to see a "Balanced Budget Amendment".
3. I like them all. Would add term limits to #3 or just make it #4. Then run it up to about 20. No elected official shall hold more than two consecutive terms for US Congress or Senate. Term limits is needed bad no matter what the party affiliation.
4. Yes I did and will again. Will add Boehner to the list. Received confirmation e-mail from congressman and one senator but not the other.

M1A or AR10 ?

1. M1A Socom 2. M1A Scout 3. M1A 4. Ar10
6. It's good to see companies such as DD hold the line. Hopefully our Congressional reps will do the same. I'm disappointed in CTD. They show Colt mil spec 30 rd aluminum mags for $99.
7. A friend of mine carried groceries out for a customer recently. Customer paid with EBT card, car was a Volvo with a bumper sticker that read "Liv'n Blue in a Red State". Yes...they can do just about anything and it will be in your face, unless stopped by the people.
8. My vote would be:    No1-Geissele combat trigger No2-RRA two stage national match   I have bought one Geissele and it is smooth as glass. I have bought two RRA's and one was smoother than the other. One close to the Geissele, the other about 3/4's way there but way better than the stock trigger.   Shop around for both and quality doesn't come cheap.
9. I ran an Arsenal SGL 20 in a trng course. Would I trade it for even money on a SCAR or a Barrett Rec 7, maybe. Arsenal AK's are hard to beat for civilian CQB. Just be sure and check the front sight for cant. The SLR107CR is in my HO one of the best civilian CQB deals out there. Now if you want 1.5" groups at 100 yards look for something else.
10. The web site shows out of production for right now. I stopped by their booth at the NRA convention and they said then that they were working on a magazine based redesign. They were definately excited about making the rifle in 7.62x39.
11. "I think our governments will remain virtuous for many centuries; as long as they are chiefly agricultural; and this will be as long as there shall be vacant lands in any part of America. When they get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, they will become corrupt as in Europe." Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, December 20, 1787 No doubt presidential elections are controlled by the "Big Blue Cities".
12. Awsome knife. How do you like the "Dangler Sheath" and "Saber Grind"? BHK's are making high quality knives for a reasonable price IMHO. Their "Dangler Sheath" is heads above others. I have been in contact with BHK's several times about an EDC knife legal limit for TN and they for sure want your business. Good people.
13. Got to handle some Tops knives at Knob Creek earlier this month. Rod Sewell of Cahaba Creek Knives from Alabama is a Tops dealer and had several knives. All the knives were full size tactical knives and were not exactly what I was looking for so I passed for now. I was impressed with them all. Very well built out of heavy tool steel and nice micarta scales. No doubt made for hard use. Rod was very nice and knowledgeable about Tops products. The Tom Brown Tracker was a hot item. One Tops knife that interests me is the "Rogue Wolf". It has the same shape as one of my benchmades and is a great utilitarian blade shape IMHO. The small UTE is under 4" and seems like a good option for a fixed blade EDC which I'm looking for. Next trip to East Tn I'm stopping by SMKW's to check out the Tops knives.
14. I've always used 4 grades of oil stones but have never really been satisfied but do get some blades to just shave hair. I'm in the market for some new stones, guide system or 1x30 belt grinder. Not decided yet. Thinking about buying a nice new set of water stones and picking up a belt sander from Harbor Freight and practice on some cheap knives to see how that works. Seems like a lot of American knife makers have gone to the convex grind. I recently puchased a Bark River "Gunny" in CPM-3v for an EDC knife so I will have to learn to use sand paper on the mouse pad etc. Nice knife by the way and I am currently breaking in the leather sheath.
15. I'm watching now but also DVR'ing just in case I can't watch the whole thing. "Go Romney"
16. For AK's IMHO European steel surplus over Egyptian Maadi surplus. Circle 10 first choice.
17. Thanks for the info. Some of the other "gadgets" cost near as much or more. Such as the Wicked Edge and Edge Pro I've been considering. especially if you count extra stones etc. I've been looking at sharperner systems for awhile having a burning need to improve sharpening skills after free handing for years. Curious with the "gadgets" which one you like the best? The viel looks nice and I assume the angle table would be used to set the correct angle on the edge.
18. Anyone know the primary edge angle grind that Esee and Tops normally use on their knives from factory?
19. Noticed that Smokey Mt Knife Works is an Esee dealer. I may be up there later in fall and will check them out.
20. Have not handled either very much. Fair to say they are close in quality of manufacturing?
21. I'm in the market for an EDC fixed blade knife, preferrably Tops or ESSE in the approx 3" to maybe just over 4" long blade for everyday use, camping, survival etc to be worn on the belt. Legal length for TN is a concern but a little over 4 would be fine. . One knife I am considering is the Tops Scout Viper but it is a hair over 4". The Tops UTE is under 4" and a heck of a buy for the money. Another is the ESEE Laser Strike. I seem to gravitate to the spear point or drop point shapes. Anyone have some experience with these makers? I'm jumping all over the map on these two makers and need some experienced advice.
22. There's something to be said of commonality of mags.
23. If I am getting it from the news correctly our Ambassador did not have US Marine protection and he was working out of a neighborhood house (Forgive me-Consulate Compound). If true, evidently our military might was left out of the equation and some brave Americans payed the ulitmate sacrifice for it. This is insane!
24. I agree. And the next President will probably get to appoint three USSCJ's. But the way the Republicans caved on the last two nominations the Republic may be doomed anyway.
