  1. I'm picking up what your laying down TS. We will just go off the orginal plan of breakfast sat. And bring a sack lunch. On another stroke, I cant wait to see you guys in juat two short weeks, I think its gonna be a hell of a program.
  2. Just wanted to throw out that the 15 day forecast is up finally. The weather for the planned weekend is as follows: Fri. High - 97 degrees/101 degrees real feel Low- 70 degrees/ 74 degrees real feel Clear all day and night Sat. High - 84 degrees/ 90 degrees real feel Low- 70 degrees/ 68 degrees real feel Chance of rain So dress for hot and humid weather, and plan for some rain during the day saturday. Right now it looks like about 10-12 People will be eating breakfast on sat. so thats what I'm gonna plan the food around. So I'll bring enough eggs and taters for a dozen people, and if you'll plan for a dozen on the meat WD, we should be good to go. Mrs. Dolomite, if you'd like to cook we would love that, what kinda stuff would you like to cook? My only worry is I have a tight budget, so I dont know if doing supper and breakfast is in my budget right now as far as providing food.
  3. I posted some pictures of my pistols that I traded for about a week ago. Well I'm now getting some leather made from Mark@sea from this board. He is working on them as we speak, and I'll be posting updates as he sends them. I think this is gonna be the slickest rig I've ever owned, and I love the fact that its being built by a good guy like Mark. Heres what hes basing it off of, it'll be for a right handed shooter, not a left. Heres the belt, he hasn't done the holsters yet, but the belt is very impressive from the pics. Its 3" wide, with 1.5" cinch belt, using brass buckles. Hope you guys like it, I know I'm damn sure gonna love it. Thanks Mark!!!!
  4. Damn boys do I need to call the inaurance company for some liability on this event? Lol we all do stupid stuff from time to time. Glad no one was to seriously hurt....yet.
  5. Alright I'll play. My one gun would be a suppressed Ruger Mini 14. I just prefer the platform over the AR platform, and with the suppressor it would make it that much more of a good offensive weapon. For my bladed weapon it would be a Tom Brown Tracker knife. They are the best survival knives I've ever seen, and extremely useful. I would move by myself, on a mule at night. Mules are smarter, and more sure footed than horses. I would move north towards TN, heading towards the family land, where we have plenty of resources, for the long haul if necessary. My wife doesn't travel with me most of the time, and she knows to head there, so in all probability thats where we would meet at.
  6. Yeah im getting excited. And theres some blackberries close by for the pikin. I know iots all about the simple stuff, but I can't resist a chance to share some good hot campfire cooked food with friends
  7. Dang that sucks. Hopefully you get a new one easily. This is why I have a leather document bag/ case that I use for anything important. Long standing habit from the military, always carrying orders and other stuff yiu can't affird to get messed up.
  8. Spots

    Dang!!!

I know what you mean by that. I spent the last 5 years working on CH-46 Helicopters in the Marines. If its not low power, leaking oil, fuel, or hydraulic fluid, vibrating out of limits, or sending of random warning lights, then you better put your head between your legs, because its about to crash.
  9. Well fire wood is pulled up. Gonna take the chainsaw down in a day or two and hack it into camp fire sized lumps.
  10. Awesome dave, I'd love to hear and see that big baby go boom!! And thanks for volunteering on the meat #1 Spots- Eggs, taters, and coffee #2 Dave/WD-40- Breakfast meat
  11. Spots

    Dang!!!

I've done 30 ft into the ocean from a hovering helicopter at night. That was......interesting. I've also done 87 feet, feet first into the ocean off a bridge in Japan. I can't wait to start the Pararescue pipeline and go to the static line and HALO/HAHO schools
  12. Spots

    Dang!!!

I'd be all over that in a heart beat. I love that kinda stuff
  13. I love it man. Good job
  14. Post number one updated with rules for camping. Heres some pics where we will be camping View from the hill Camp site, I just mowed it down to reduce the possibility of unseen snakes The creek we are on the banks of On another note, we need to feed everyone. So if we all bring a few items, life will be much better for the majority. Their is a food city store about 5 miles from my place if you don't wanna travel all the way here with it. We need breakfast on the 30th, and a pack your own lunch for the the afternoon. So put your name down, and what you'll bring for breakfast. I'll have a large coffee pot, but feel free to bring your too Also I'll have a couple of skillets, but feel free to bring anything you'd like to cook with. Thanks guys 1. Spots - 2 dozen eggs, taters, and coffee 2.??
  15. Reason I try to only work with LGS, FTF transactions on guns, and avoid shipping anything firearms related at all cost. I've never trusted any shipping company, and I don't like the idea that personal packages can be opened on drivers whim. While it might be a "business decision" to open a package going to Para repair center, it was also a great way to sidestep the responsibility of delivering a package because you didn't want it to cost you time to drive there and deal with it. You said yourself 75% of packages where handguns. So if you would take the time to open a 100 packages, trying to find 75 handguns to avoid a drive? All that does it steel my resolve to not ship considering how ungodly expensive shipping anything is, and that now delivery is just at the whim of whoever has the truck. Not to mention stuff like this Those are the idiots your paying $50 to ship your stuff with.
  16. I wouldn't O/C them in town, but around my house on the farm, and up in the backwoods where I grew up and my family lives I would. Hell I grew up in an area like what they portrayed on the Hatfields and Mccoys. My dad didn't have indoor plumbing until he finished building his log house in 1980. His parents got it in '84. Electricity in '64 I think. I grew up kinda country, I guess thats why I'm addictied to the old stuff. Cap and balls, pipes and cigars, straight razors, draft horse farming, etc. lol
  17. Of course you can carry. I'll be carrying two cap and balls, and probably have my Marlin 336 down there for the random coyote, as they are hot and heavy in this area, and my landlord has a shoot on sight policy because they mess with the cattle.
  18. YEah I've held one. Close to 5 lbs, and 16" long. 60 grains of powder and the most powerful handgun until the .357 magnum came along. Thats what I was inquring about the "Bad" Frank phillips shoulder holsters for. Nothing like carrying two hand cannons around with ya.
  19. Yes I got them used, but already had a gunsmith look them over, he said they are good to go. I traded a Taurus semi-atuo I wasn't all that fond of, mostly because I really wanted to get into cap and ball. If I find that it is for me, I'll eventually invest in a matched set of steel 1847 Walker Colts. If not, then I won't feel bad about using them as wall hangers.
  20. Yeah, I remember, If I've been doing my research right, its to take up the space in the cylinder while keeping a light load. Not a fan of the flap holsters. I know they are correct, and they work, but I'm gonna have mark build me a set of cowboy holsters
  21. I'll make sure to be careful. 25 grains for the the navy and 30 grains for the Army sound right? Replied
  22. Alright sounds good? Any suggestions on leather? I hate to spend as more on leather than the guns are worth.
  23. I think you are right. I've been told it could be #10's or 11's, that I need to check both and see. I look forward to picking your brain soon about these things.
  24. Of course they will be there the 30th. hopefully I'll have the stuff to load and shoot them by then. I need some 3f, .454 balls, #10 caps, and a powder flask or some kinda measure. I have some .36 cal balls for the 1851. I also need some leather, but good lord its so expensive. And Thanks WD, I feel like I got a good deal on the trade, they are in good shape, and very shootable, and they are what I wanted, which helps
  25. Did some trading and ended up with two replicas today. Still unknown on maker, but both are Italian from what I can tell. First one is an Remington 1858 Army in .44 And the other (my fav. right now) is an 1851 Colt Navy And here both together. Now I just need a leather rig for them and I'm set.
