  1.   I'm not to sure about that, from the other post listed the guy apparently must have stirred up quite a reaction ...
  2. Sell it.  Vehicles that aren't driven regularly will deteriorate, and as they do either they become money pits or else get neglected further.  Unless you are really into collecting and restoring cars/trucks, and have the tools, facilities and know-how to do so, if you ever get the urge to own a restored version of this it's far easier and ultimately much less expensive to buy one that someone else has done the work to, maybe even someday this truck again.  Ask me how I know all of this ...
  3.   It's pretty much sold out for now.  Most of the recent shipments were coming in from Ukraine, the recent activities there have made additional imports problematic at best.  There's been some fear-mongering as well, unfounded rumors that it's now banned from import, etc.  Until some of the uncertainty and regional conflicts settle down in the areas that still have large deposits of surplus ammo, don't look for the supply to ease any ...
  4. What direction are you traveling in/to?  Probably your best bet for accommodations will be in Paris, Tn., approximately 20 minutes north, the selection there will be a lot better on both hotels and eating places, there's not much to recommend in McKenzie itself ...
  5.   Try the trader on http://www.castboolits.gunloads.com/
  6.   It's a mass-produced tool, the schematics are already there, any company with a decent machining department can duplicate the product ...     Isn't it nice to know the government is still in the bailout business ...     It has nothing to do with adaptation or their product, Colt stockholders have been repeatedly raped by the fund managers that are running the company, this new contract will only allow the process to continue, once again at taxpayer expense ...
  7.   Here you go: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colonel_Kurtz and: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Poshepny
  8. Mosins were never packed in cosmoline, it's just grease.  Use standard cleaning methods, shoot it until the barrel is hot, clean again.  These rifles were designed to be used by illiterate Russian peasants, don't over-complicate the issue ...
  9.   I'm glad to know that others do things like this ...
  10.   No we don't - remember that old saying about fools and their money ...
  11.       I just figured he was referring to the truly awful spelling, punctuation and capitalization most people exhibit when posting on social media sites ...
  12. First day back this year I found a 5.56 blank case lying on my classroom floor.  The local LEO's had performed a hostage/shooting scenario a few days earlier in the school, something they do most years.  I think it's still sitting on a shelf in the classroom, the only real reaction was me chiding the SRO for being negligent in policing up all the spent brass ...
  13. Contact Classic Firearms and SOG, as far as I know they are the only ones with crates currently in stock.  Normally when they empty the crates they let them go on a "first come" basis, AIM in Ohio used to let folks pick them up for free if they called ahead but they have been out of stock for several weeks now, it still might be worth the call to see if by chance they have any empties left.
  14. This thread has some potential, a pissing contest for fanboys ...
  15. The ammonia probably does help with some of the copper fouling, but it's the water that dilutes and washes out the salts.  Hot water works well, but any water down a warm barrel will neutralize the salts, follow with an oiled patch and you're good to go.  Otherwise cleaning is done like any modern weapon, just be aware that a lot of the crown and rifling wear of milsurps was caused by over vigorous cleaning procedures as much as battle usage.  The typical 2 compartment cleaning bottle issued with wartime 91/30's originally contained water in one compartment, oil in the other.
  16.   Stop confusing the issue with all these facts, you're ruining a perfectly good conspiracy theory ...
  17.       I really, really wish I owned stock in whoever owns Reynold's Wrap ...
  18.   While I can agree with your sentiments on media reporting in general, Lanza fired over 100 rounds from a Bushmaster AR, the pistol was used to off himself ...
  19.       Read the other day where the series writers said there won't be any explanations of where, when or how the zombie flu began ...
  20. While there are some on this list that are very obviously priced well over the market, close to half of the ones listed are either at, or near their current market values. This list includes very few of the common 91/30 refurbs that can be bought for $150 - $200 ...
  21. An hour of watching the new characters on this show kind of left me cheering for the zombies ...
  22. Having read everything King wrote since "Carrie" came out I was very disappointed with the Dark Tower series after the first 3 books or so.  The storyline started out with great promise, then gradually devolved to a rehash of many of King's previous themes, and he outdid himself with the gratuitous references to earlier works in this one.  By the end of the series I just wanted it over, apparently King did too as the last book seemed like he just said "to hell with it" and stopped.  Few of King's longer works have made very good movies, I highly doubt this one will be watchable (his novellas and short stories make great movies though) and will certainly be almost incomprehensible to those who never read the books ...
  23. Don't forget one of these: After all, you might as well be comfortable while bugging out ...
  24.   Yes, 500' over "populated" areas, 1000' over "densely populated" areas.  However, RC aircraft are designated as "hobby" vehicles for now, the FAA lost a court case in the spring in which they were trying to assert jurisdiction over "drones" (which is probably not the correct term for quadcopters and their ilk), according to the case Congress has yet to expand any sort of regulatory authority to the FAA over UAV's, other than that already defined by normal airspace restrictions.  As such, as of today there are essentially no guidelines or restrictions on these types of crafts, the FAA recently published some "suggestions" for RC pilots, such as limiting altitude to 400' agl and keeping the craft in "line of sight", however it's generally believed that unless Congress changes some laws that the FAA has zero chance of actually winning a case based on these guidelines...   It's difficult to believe that a pilot of a jetliner could spot any current quadcopter or similar device at a distance of 100' below the flightpath, while flying a 200 mph approach, I know it's often hard to accurately spot one from the ground at 100'.  In any case there are already airspace restrictions around established airports, most airliners will fly into mainly class C and above, which have will have limitations imposed to at least 5 miles from the airport, if there was a UAV flying in the final approach path then there was clearly a violation.  As an aside, the DJI Phantom 3 (the model that was shot down being discussed in this thread) will not fly into classified airspace in GPS mode, and if an attempt is made to launch one within the specified airspace of a known airport, the motors will not activate ...
