  1. I seriously doubt that anyone who understands your post actually needed to be told how and where to download this movie, after all screener DVD's are rampant on the torrent and usenet networks this time of year ...
  2. Nothing but noise created by internet buzz - as said before, EO's are limited in scope, and most gun laws are set in stone by US code and previous congressional action.  I don't doubt there will be some sort of announcement, with the typical fanfare, which once again will prove to be much ado about nothing.  In today's world, regardless of your political persuasion, it's more about the reaction you get than the actual consequences of your pronouncements ...
  3.   Walking 30 minutes at a brisk pace sounds pretty damn strenuous to me ...       Might want to move #3 up a spot or two ...
  4. These are the last "primary" Finnish Mosins to be had, obviously you can find them on the secondary market.  When these are gone, the only rifles available will be those already in private hands.
  5.   That's about what the SR9's sold for when they were newer, so the prediction that you should see them at or maybe slightly below $400 is probably accurate.
  6. The initial ads are up for it, I suspect they had to bring them out a bit early due to the "leak" ... http://ruger.com/products/rugerAmericanPistol/index.html
  7. I have nothing to add about the Mauser actions, but Russian surplus ammo is going for @35 cents and more now, the present situation in the Ukraine has caused surplus 7.62x54r to dry up in the states.  Given the cost of converting other actions to fire Russian ammo, you might want to reconsider your original proposition ...
  8. Looks like the supply is winding down, and they're marketing some of the ones culled from the more common variants at a premium.
  9. This is actually an impressive accomplishment, Ruger has managed to make a gun that may be uglier than a Glock ...

I've never seen Jericho, but I really wish I could get the hours that I spent watching Revolution back somehow ...
  11.   Fracking is already slowed considerably throughout the US, and the Canadian oil sands operations are in even worse shape, as their productions costs are higher than the frackers.  The oil boom states are going through a "bust" now, much like Texas went through in the 90's when gas/oil prices collapsed the last time ...
  12.   I'm not exactly sure where their infrastructure is today, but at one time the Saudi's were building the largest refining operations in the world. If those facilities are online, we no longer have as much control on the prices of refined products as we once had.  I also seem to remember that refining capability has expanded many times over in other parts of the world as well.
  13. This is a good video, with one caveat - as he says, this video doesn't cover all the variations in handguard attachments, trigger guards, etc.  For those, the Brownell's video series on AR building is probably better, although considerably longer. Here's a link to all 52 videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-k0aL0wtMPA&list=PLa6yB5pDvYiiR1KVxS1yrjYr9u9SL31RL
  14.     That pic is more flattering than most of Pavlichenco, and likely taken later since the majority of her combat experience happened prior to the introduction of the 91/30 PU series.  My guess is that it's a publicity photo, taken either while she was touring in support of the Soviet efforts or while working as a sniper school instructor later in the war.
  15. I'm no 1903 expert, but the stock finish looks original to me, at least as to when it last left the arsenal. I would guess that it's a replacement stock, quite common on these from what little I know.  If it were mine, I wouldn't touch a thing, but that's pretty much my philosophy on all these old milsurps, original or not ...
  16. Lyudmilia Pavlichenco, 309 confirmed kills, including 187 during two and a half months of fighting at Odessa. Wounded in 1942, she was withdrawn from combat after her recovery and later toured the US and Canada to bolster support for a second front. While she might not be as attractive as Roza Shanina she remains the deadliest female sniper in history.
  17. Flaming bomb marks were also applied to weapons made elsewhere after being inventoried in US arsenals.  Many of the Remington and NEW Mosin Nagant rifles are virtually covered with variations of this stamp, apparently each arsenal had it's own system for marking both rifles produced there and additional rifles that entered service from other manufacturers.
  18. And the iron that's derived from ore on the earth isn't also over 4 billion years old?
  19. New fad of RC car racing games, powered by LP, with lots of phones for selfies ...
  20. Just watched it.  I never read any of the canon fiction, just watched the movies as they came out, so whatever changes they made from the published works don't bother me.  Overall a good movie, although at times I almost thought I was watching the first one again, albeit 38 years later.  One difference, I waited a week to see this one, saw the first on Day 1, in pretty much the same conditions, a theater about 1/4th full ...
