1. Nice. Be carefull they breed like crazy :panic:
2. So , The four inch limit is state law.  And that is still in effect. Well a step in the right direction.
3. Im looking to buy a decent quality folding knife. The benchmade Pardue 530 has realy caught my interest. A coworker carries one and it feels good to me. What do you guys think of these? I like that they are realy thin and lightweight, but to me they look kind of like a fish, thats the only thing that i dont like. Is the spearpoint a good choice for a carry knife?
4. Have you thought about going with a Kimber .45 then buying a conversion kit. I see the Kimber .22 is on the list.
5. Hey guys. Are the Winchester 140 Rangers any good? Ive never had a semi shotgun before. would shortening the barrel affect cycling?
6. hey guys. i just got an Email from a guy who wants to trade me a Winchester 140 ranger for the Raven. Minutes after i bought the Raven i put it on armslist. For sale or trade, you can see the ad in the montana section or search Raven. I havent contacted the guy with the 140 yet so i dont know the condition or anything. Whats your thoughts? are the 140s any good? Ive been wanting to find a cheap shotty to eventualy cut down and Register as SBS, would that be a good candadite?
7. Very nice :hat: What scope mount is that?
8. Oh . thats good. I was under the impression in TN private sales at gunshows was ilegal. ive always gotten better deals from individuals than the dealers.
9. A buddy of mine had one and it always went bang. I used to have a jennings J22 that was realy bad. even at four feet the groups were huge and it would frequently fire when chambering a round. This raven seems alot better. ill put a box thru it next weekend.
10. Gun show this weekend in missoula MT. Just as i was leaving, I passed a table with a shiny little misfit, and a $45 price tag. Just for sh*ts and giggles i offered forty bucks. The guy took the offer, He was selling off his fathers guns that passed away. In MT we still have private sales at gun shows. (no paperwork) The little .25 has some wear from being carried but was almost like new inside. He said his father carried it every day. Its funny all the other guns he had for sale were pretty high end. Over under shotguns and hunting rifles and two NIB Desert eagles a .44 and a .357. I texted pics to a couple of buddies who immediately made the standard jokes, and even the lady who runs the gun shows laughed and asked how hard i could throw it.( shes great, always lets me in the shows for free) But what the heck, i know i could resell it for $40 bucks any time. Feel free to make mock her, i understand. But if anyones has an apprecition for these, id like to hear something positive. Oh and this for me is a novelty, not a carry gun. and if your wondering why a montanan is on your forum, ill be moving to TN soon .
11. Winchester varmint load .223 45gr. jhp At my bedside , .357
12. Ive been thinking the same thing. At the range ive messed around with some 55gr. fmj. At around ten yards they would go through a computer paper box packed with water soaked phone books like it was nothing, The same box of phone books stopped a round of Winchester 45gr. jacketed HP at about the six inch mark. Whats your guys thought of using these for HD?
13. Yeah , i just looked up those PTS sights that was them. I had no idea there were knock offs out there. Ive been wondering why magpul would put out such a crappy product. I traded a hogue AK grip for the set. They actualy came in seperate ziplock bags with a piece of cardboard. looked legit but it makes sense. P.S.  Sorry for taking post off subject
14. not sure. i got them from a co worker. a set front and rear. worst sights ive ever tried. I had to turn the front post so far up it almost came out of the plastic. Ive wondered why so many people seem to like them but just as many seem to hate them. The set i had came with the original package. When i say the aperture moved i mean it would rotate from the large to the small or vice versa. I cant remember what kind of screw but it wouldnt get any tighter. They felt realy cheesy, like if i banged them on something they would just break right off.
15. well ive tried the magpul and realy didnt like it. the aperture was realy loose and would move when the rifle cycled. I personaly use yhm on my flat top uppers but they are over fifty bucks. Actualy the fixed sights from utg seemed decent for the price. i realy liked them but they felt bulky.
16. I would say AR all the way. For shtf AR wins in a fight IMHO and you said deer hunting. 5.56 is plenty and wont be overkill or as much overkill if small game is all thats available.
17. Hey guys. i was reading another post about using irons or a red dot on an AR for shots out to 400yds. What kinda groups do you get with your ARs open sights at 300 and 400 yds. maybe my eyes are realy bad but at three hundred the front post on my HBAR looks wider than a shilouette target. So what groups are decent with a standard 20" barrel and standard sights?
18. thanks for the help. did you mean tn hcp applications dont require references? and if so are out of stae references ok. mt requires ref. the only reason im asking.
19. Just a quik question. does tenn. honor mt. carry permits? ive found websites that say tn does and some that say tn doesnt. On the application for a tn hcp, does it ask for references? Thanks guys
