  1. How much brass are you needing?
  2.    After season was over I found an insanely long rub/scrape line as well as a handful of other very active areas which might be a good spot to look around for sheds. I won't have time in the next month and a half but if you wanted a busy area to poke around looking for sheds you are more than welcome to come wander around. There around 130-140 acres to search but I can get you in the vicinity. My youngest sister is getting married in 5 weeks and about any spare moments I might have between now and then will be consumed by prepping for the wedding.
  3.    I've had my dog/dogs stolen (1 the first time and the second time they got 2 of mine and 1 that belonged to my folks) and can only imagine how happy I would have been and still to this day would be if someone showed up with them. Glad to hear the big guy is back home, good job!
  4. Never actively hunted sheds before, just kinda walked up on them at random. However, 3yrs in a row I found a shed antler within 15' of the same tree. 1st year it was a little split tine, 2nd was a split with brow tine and 3rd it was 4 points. I'm sure they were each from different deer but it has always had me wondering if they could actually be from the same deer. Guess I'll never know. Is there any rhyme or reason to how you go about looking for them or do you just wander about In areas that seem likely.
  5.  I'm not sold that it's a hack at all because i'm pretty sure I could go to the Cabelas site (not using the supplied link) and start with a fresh (empty) shopping cart and one by one add each item to my cart netting me the same cart as in the supplied "hack" link. Is there a part of this that is a "hack" that i'm missing?   Dolomite, how long is Palmslap's vacation? I'm just curious because it may take some time to soar from his current tact level all the way to a TGO acceptable tact level ;)
  6.        Guess I missed it before the edit but i'm assuming it has something to do with "got mine so now it's time to put the brakes on it" ?
  7.    Your lead is going to be extremely hard and will need to be mixed with softer lead before casting. Even the "hard cast" commercial cast bullets are only 20-22 brn which is plenty hard for any handgun bullet and consider by many to be excessive. Most will use wheel weights which when air cooled will be around 11.5 +/- brn. I apologize if i'm telling you things that you already know.
  8.  Glad someone found him that would care for him. I can't for the life of me understand how someone good treat a dog like this!
  9.  I guess when I left a comment on the Facebook post last night it showed up on my feed because I just looked at it and my grandfather had liked it...SMH he enjoys liking things on Facebook that I have commented on but doesn't seem to enjoy reading to see if it was a negative comment
  10.  I have owned 5 Ford Super Duty's and one F150 and all but one F250 were great trucks. I have a chevy Z71 now because I bought it for around 1/3 the trade in value but would not have bought it if not for that. If you were weighing out domestic options I would say to go with Ford simply because they were the ones that accepted no bail out money and I've had good luck with them. I haven't owned one of the newer Toyota's with the insanely large cab but I have two friends that have them and I can't comment enough on the room, even in the back seat. I'm almost 6'2" with really bad knees so being able to completely straighten my legs out is a must and I had no problem with that is the Toyota.   How big of a camper are you looking at?
  11. Anyone notice that they only have 681 "likes" on that Facebook page? I could make a page for my dog and generate that many "likes" by the end of this weekend. I guess when you advertise prices such as this it doesn't garner many fans.
  12. Mcordell, did you have a bunch of different .22lr ammo in your cart when you posted this link? If so I think the reason Hipower and I are seeing stuff in "our" carts is because following your link is taking up to your cart. It is showing out of stock for me as well.
  13. I've never been on the Cabela's site before and it says I have 34 items totaling $1,710.16 ? not sure what to make of that.
  14. Awesome pics FJ, I especially like the 1st two.
  15.  Since this post was made I have been into A&H a couple times. I just ran across the place and had forgotten all about it being the topic of this thread. I will say that they had a very good stock especially considering the current state of availability. One of the guys working there was very nice and if he was guilty of anything it was that he was to attentive kinda like a restaurant waitress that checks on you so much that you can't eat. I dealt with the guy that owns the place and he wasn't overly nice and he wasn't in to big a rush to pause his conversation with a buddy to come check me out but if that's the worst that ever happens then i'm happy. Last but not least, his prices are retail small quantity prices (100 projectiles, 50 pieces of brass etc..) and he didn't seem willing to cut that at all when buying bulk. I asked about buying .223 projectiles by the thousand (I was thinking of buying 3,000 if his heart was right) and he replied in a "matter of fact" tone that it would be 10x times the listed price and that he wouldn't offer any kind of discount until I bought 5 or 6,000. Pricing is certainly his prerogative but I won't be buying anything other than the occasional "can't find it anywhere else" item from him because of it. I will mention again though, he had a great selection of powder, bullets, brass and primers so if you just can't find it anywhere else it is worth checking there.

    TGO lower

Awesome. I've got a Noveske (Troy) tube that is similar in diameter and I love it. Greg I agree with you, I never have been big on the ergonomics of a quad rail but had one on my Blackout that was narrow like the Danial Defense rails and it wasn't horrible but the Troy rail I have on it now is way better. Glad to see 3 good opinions on it. I've kinda narrowed my options to this one and the 15" Seekins. The Midwest is around $189 +shipping and I found the Seelins for $249 with free shipping so the price difference isn't great so it's really coming down to the Midwest being a round tube and the Seekins being roundish with small flats at the 3, 6 and 9 positions. Since the rifle this is going on will be a distance rifle and usually rested on something i'm wondering if the the flats on the Seekins would be beneficial. Either way I will be free floating a .223 AR sometime in the near future and it will be getting the Midwest. Thanks, for the input guys.
  17.    I don't have a pic but they mine were much better. I've got a guy that does powder coating that said he'd hook me up with powder so i'll be trying that next.
  18.    Thanks. We tried some .308 bullets for Blackout and ended up tumbling and baking twice. Once just didn't cut it and we did a couple batches which tumbled for varying lengths of time which didn't seem to make any difference in the end result. Tumbling and baking them the 2nd time really helped.
  19.  My computer really didn't like that site and kept freezing up. Can you give me the short of the story?
  20.   When you say "double tumble" do you mean that you tumbled and baked then tumbled and baked again or did you tumble them and then add more and tumble them again then only bake them once?

Hey Greg, how do you like that Midwest rail? I've been looking hard at the 15" but the same model as your's and the only thing that had me kind of "iffy" is the teeth on the barrel nut being exposed. Now that I've seen that it looks great on your's it really isn't bothering me.

    TGO lower

Honestly about any upper will fit  nice and tight on the TGO/CMT lowers because did you noticed the extra hole and allen head set screw back in the grip area? If you have any play when you install your upper of choice on the lower you simply tighten that set screw which acts similar to products like the Accuwedge and takes away most all the play between receivers. Now that I've said that I only hope that it was my TGO receivers that had that and not another lower. It's kinda late to be digging in the safe to make 100% sure but i'm fairly certain that the TGO receivers have this feature.  That would address a tight fit but if having the lines match up is important to you then a CMT upper would be the sure way to make it happen. I'm not sure how other uppers are machined and if they visually/cosmetically match up with the CMT lowers but they might.
  23.  Far be it from me to tell someone he can't do something on property he/she paid for BUT when you cross over the safety line I think it's a good idea for someone to step in. That being said, they need a VERY clear definition of what the safe/unsafe line is because if left up to individual discretion it could run a muck. One anti gun LEO or public official armed with personal discretion is a recipe for disaster so i'm not sure what restriction they could put in place that would keep idiots like this from shooting across a canal where his wife has to play crossing guard but would not hinder another man from setting up a safe shooting environment because each cituation will be different and I've already given my opinion about things being left up to an individuals personal discretion. This guy and others like him are in the process of making the shooting lives of safe respectful shooters a major pain in the ass. A 7'x7' backstop is no where near sufficient in an area that there is a possibility of someone cruising by behind it much less somewhere that folks regularly cruise by behind it. I think an argument could be made that the canal, since used as a motor vehicle (boat) route, is essentially the same as a roadway and since a bullet may not pass over a roadway technically he would have to give up his dangerous redneck range.   I love the law that protects folks right to shoot and I love even more that it has a very sharp set of teeth to it but asshats like this guy will get the law repealed or amended in such a way that responsible folks will be the ones to pay the price. Like you mentioned Tanker, just because something is permissible doesn't automatically make it wise. This might be an opportunity for responsible gun owners to speak out against an idiot and give everyone a glimpse of the good (true) side of the shooting community because as it stands right now it seems to be showing a 100% negative side.
  24.  Very nice! I wouldn't mind having a bolt gun to go with my 300aac AR. Have you got a suppressor or plan to get one for them?
  25.    As someone else stated, the case lube it completely unnecessary when loading pistol (straight wall) cases so long as you bought carbide dies. I've loaded an unknown number of pistol rounds and only sprayed them once because I was told that they sized easier. They did size a bit easier but they weren't the least bit hard in the first place so the difference wasn't worth handling sticky cases. By all means give it a try if you'd like but thought i'd share my experience and save you some time. Just my  :2cents:
