  1. I didn't see the post that was made....   Didn't the members on the board call his hand on this? I would think so?
  2. "I really enjoyed this and since its home grown in Tennessee I recommend it."   Heck.. everything I drink is home grown in Tennessee! :yum:
  3.   I guess I'm an impressive type of guy!?
  4. Mike..   They are talking numbers(age) and "barrels" now... not "corn" or "sour mash"... it's just a sells thing.
  5.   Yes, I think it will get back to normal... as soon as the "panics" reach their limit. I believe by squirrel season the prices will be near normal. But, I would keep a couple of bricks for hunting to be sure.
  6. At that price I think I would keep a few and sell the rest.
  7. "public outrage at the failure of the government and police to protect women from rising sexual offences in a country where one rape is reported on average every 20 minutes."   I guess they are finding out that government And police is not a first line defense!
  8.   No problem! And the next rounds will be on me!   Best at ya! Wayne
  9. David...   "Why brag?  You've already got 9,999 warning points courtesy of another moderator.  Not that I really care in this particular case but you seem to enjoy the fact."   Brag? Are you really serious? And do you really think what I said in my above post was just for my own enjoyment?   I said... "I didn't mean for it to sound like I was disagreeing with you about staying on topic... I was just running my mouth... AGAIN! :pleased:     Wouldn't this seem to be the same as saying... "I'm sorry if I was the one going off-topic... I need to watch what I say in the future."   I'm on this forum to enjoy exchanging ideas and thoughts with the other members here. In no way would I cause hard feelings with anyone on this board!
  10. "What is on your adult beverage menu for the evening?"   I really don't know...   I got some rum... but it's really not "rum".   I got some pear... but Del Monte wouldn't recognize this kind.   I have a few bottles of Cognac... that can't speak French.   I have apple pie... that you can't cut with a knife.   I got some corn... but it's the "fighting kind" and better left alone!
  11.   I didn't mean for it to sound like I was disagreeing with you about staying on topic...   I was just running my mouth... AGAIN! :pleased:
  12.   Yes, you can draw a "topic line" between beer and whiskey because of the two different methods and ways they are made.   Today's whiskey has no line that's black and white, but many shades of gray. And the same can be said with all distilled liquors. At one time you could make the same whiskey in Tennessee and Kentucky.. but only call the one from Kentucky "bourbon", because it was a legal place name and not based on the way it was made. The same can be said for Cognac.. a legal name for the brandy made around the town of Cognac in France. Times are changing, and a label on a bottle may not tell you the real truth about what you're really drinking, how it's made, or it's true location. Many bottles on the shelf will even have cute little names like... Apple Liquor... Peach Vodka.. or Wild Berry Gin. And some may even be called a "Whiskey" and be a blend of different type liquors or flavoring. Many will start as a neutral alcohol and end with many different names. Rum can only be correctly called "Rum" if it's made from sugar cane... "technically". But rum has been added to whiskey to give it more of a caramel taste. Some liquors are made that technically doesn't fit in a true location or type so giving it a "name" can be a problem. One distiller in Indiana made a "Rum" but couldn't call it by that name because it was made from sorghum cane and not sugar cane. So they call it "Sorgrhum"... "sweet sorghum spirit".   So.. you got a whiskey(or liquor) with a high-age number on the label? But is that number true? Many times it's not! Many only required a percentage to be true... the rest maybe required to have a blend of no less than say 3 years aging to be able to call the higher number. And you would never believe that they would add color to off-set the difference in age... would you!?   The only way to really know what's in a bottle.. is to make it yourself!
  13. I never could stand the taste of Scotch, or even beer. I can even detect if barley is in the mix when "corn" whiskey is made. I'm not saying it's not made right... it's just not right for me.
  14. I fabricated every part of my camping trailer and the price was high in both time and money. It's parked in my basement, so I don't worry to much about it being taken. But, I can say this for an absolute fact... Any attempt to steal it... will be terminal! No questions asked!
  15. Me and my "bitter-half" took a ride yesterday through Tellico and up North River to the Skyway... on the way back the Tellico River had a lot of crazy folks in their kayaks! The river was running high and wild after all the rain we've had! View from Bald River Falls Bridge... which was ice covered from the mist of the falls...
  16.   "...knowing offensive techniques is also a must." Without question!!   But you never want to be in a firefight... You do whatever it takes to get the objective done with the very minimum exposure. You eliminate the threat and clear as soon as possible with the least amount of fire. The more time you are engaged the worse the situation becomes... for you!   A lot of truth in this short video...   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jmta7GwXCpo
  17. I've watched several YouTube videos were a tactical trainer is saying "you need to this.. you need to do that!",,, and many times, it seems they are trying to sell themselves... rather than presenting good advice.   Unless you are in a war, or someone in a line of police work... then your training should be more defensive... than offensive.   You don't want to be in a fire fight.. you don't want to clear a building... you want to be the one looking for a "backdoor" with the least amount of gunfire possible. The rifle or handgun you train with isn't an auto with 30 rounds... It's a firearm with only one round in the gun at a time. And this is in your head... "if I miss, I'm dead!". Each shoot must count and clear the area as soon as possible! The more you miss your target, the longer you're in a firefight, the greater the odds that you'll be dead.   In a SHTF situation... you don't want to be seen or heard. You want to keep your behavior or activity carried out with deliberate restraint or modesty so as not to attract attention!
  18. I got both kinds, but I don't use them. When we go camping we just use the hand crank type. Camping is good training to find out what ways you can do the normal things using different methods. I believe many just make it hard on themselves? I can survive using only a knife... but I want it as easy and comfortable as possible
  19. Not a good thing.. unless you are in uniform.   With the events that's happen in the last few years.. even if you have the right, it will upset many people in public. I've always had the view to keep a firearm undercover unless needed. I only carry open while out and about, hunting, etc.   I think open carry puts things "in their face"... as if to say... "yeah, I have the right, so "F" you!". Some may view this as..."look at me, I'm a bad as*!"... and some may try to see if you'll use it, or back down!   I believe open carry in public hurts us, more than it helps!
  20.   I'll be 65 in October.   Back in the 60's Parksville Lake didn't have any fish in the lake, unless near a creek outlet. Seems like every week an acid truck would run off into the river. I can remember when Copper Hill didn't have a tree any where near the mines. You could even taste the acid in your mouth when you were there. I believe several drown in those quarries back then... I know the one next to I-75.
  21. Just remember... if SHTF... everything needed to make alcohol is called "food"!   You can make straight corn whiskey with just corn and water... but you may have to cut down on the cornbread!? :yum:
  22. I don't know if that would work out??? We would most likely drink up the profits! If ever a still could be called a work of art... it would be the Portuguese copper alembic still... I need to make one from stainless steel!
  23.   Several tunnels under the rocks around the Hole. That was the "party mode" area back then, we may have even been there at the same time!?   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7uVKdaLKj4
  24. Oh Shoot... I'll even bet you've been to the "Blue Hole" too!
