  1.   You are just heartless... I don't know what to think about you!
  2. OH.. LET'S GO SHOP'N!!!!   Should make him an Atlanta cop... but he's on borrowed time!
  3. So we don't know the details as to how he got shot?..."whether he passed out, tripped, had a seziure or what.."   Tell him everyone here gives our best... and to hurry and get his butt home!!!
  4. ab28...   I don't want to be in any shootouts.. at my age I just don't think I have to many left! :ugh: I can tell that you know what you're doing and I'm sure you have looked at all sides.
  5. Everyone has their own opinion on what handgun to carry. But, no one type is best for all situations. If you feel that an auto is right for you... go for it!   "Handguns are weak, as far as "regular" carry pistols go." I don't guess you were talking about the .44 mag or the .454 Casull... because in the other post you were talking "overkill"?   I can unload either one of the 4's in three seconds. If two people are in close quarters and I have to shot... somebody is going to have a bad day!
  6.   But.. but.. I love to hear the big dogs bark! :woohoo:   I don't want to be in a gun fight where I need "3x the ammo" and "faster reload". And if the other guy has a gun, what do you think he's going to be doing while you're shooting all that ammo? Well, with a .44 magnum or .454 Casull.. you don't need many followup up shots! I don't find either the .44 or the .454 clumsy and I don't believe "overkill" is even possible!?
  7. You're to late for this year...   Wilson Snipe... Nov. 14 - Feb. 28  Limit 8 (2012 hunting season)   http://www.tn.gov/twra/   ... It's real, look it up!
  8. Well, if after the SHTF you still have a freezer... you can put them in a zip-lock bag and remove as much air from the bag as possible. They should last several months. No freezer and unopened, they should be OK for a month, or two without becoming real strong?   You may be able to find some seeds to put back, even then I would try to get more after each is a year old. "Left-handed" seeds might be better... if a trade needs to be made after the SHTF?
  9. When I was young, I thought it would be nice to have a long barrel... but it ain't.   I'd like to have a 6" barrel... but I ain't cutting it off for nobody!!
  10.   Make ethanol....   One for the Jeep... one for me... one for the Jeep... two for me...
  11. It would need to be very bad before I "bug out"! But, if I had to leave I would go in the Jeep. And if I had to carry more stuff, I would use the off road trailer hooked to it. I would think a bug out vehicle would need to be 4WD because some roads may be blocked? It needs to be a vehicle that is highly maneuverable in tight places and even if I needed to use the off road trailer, it would still go where pickups would have a hard time. The trailer has a special hitch and had to have "limits" built to match the Rubicon maneuverability, the hitch doesn't bind in any direction.
  12.   Was it the Walgreens at 25th St. & Ocoee.... if it was I got him... My S&W 629 .44 Magnum has a 2 1/4 pound trigger pull.
  13. You may not have known about this song... unless you've been around Whitwell, Tennessee...   Confederate Railroad-Whitwell Mine   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZ1Y4c_J84g
  14.   LOL... I meant before your #9 post.   Let us know how it comes out and be sure to add the pictures! Many polish the action on the Saiga 12, some just let it "work in". Several kits for that model... if you're not having any problems using low base shells, you should be good to go!
  15. "...terrorist from 1993 WTC bombing wants out of solitary confinement." and needs to be placed in this...
  16. Might be a good idea to Loctite that set screw.   BTW.. you never said what you were working on.
  17.   Yeah.. you got part of it right. 1) The cop on the right should never have crossed the fence, at that point he was about 21 ft to the subject. 2) He should have had his rifle in the ready to fire position. 3) His mistake just about cost his life and three others. 4) If you're ever in a position like this, you need to forget about lawyers and leave your "rose colored glasses" at home!
  18. You being a "gun type".. I'm starting to think "barrel"?   If so, you're on the right track, because a "plug weld" might have some bleed through on the inside. Plus it would take more heat to plug weld a hole than to freeze the set screw. Not knowing the true alloy of the steel... a set screw to fill the hole is the better way. By you saying... "in steel .125" thick"... are you plugging a front sight hole?
  19. What are you making?   Am I right to understand...   you're going to weld up a hole... then drill and tap for a screw... then weld the screw so it will be sure to stay under pressure? Will the screw hold an object either on the pressure, or non-pressure side?   What is the max pressure? Is this regular carbon steel?
  20. In life, I try to fly just under the radar. No, I don't put any stickers on my vehicles. I try not to draw any trouble from any source. Sometimes you'll find yourself in a situation where you need to use a little tact... and it's easy to let your big mouth overload your butt and even if you win... you loose. If you go looking for trouble you will find it. I know it's hard to believe but many people like to express their authority over others... most have a mental condition and in their mind this puts them on a higher level. You need to realize this and always play the "game" in your favor. It's easy to get into trouble with the LEO or the common man. And many times you may find yourself in a situation where you didn't see a problem coming. Maybe something you said... or an action on your part that wasn't meant to be aggressive? You need to diffuse and correct the situation as soon as possible. This IS the higher road to take. Many can't say "I'm sorry"... or "I apologise"... or "I made a mistake". And this can get you in deeper trouble! Sure, it's a hard thing to back-down over someone who has threatened to "beat your as* over a few misplaced words... but in my 65 years I have found this the best way... besides, I don't want to kill anyone else!
  21. Well, it's not a good idea to walk around with $10,000+ in your pocket... a straight line deal may be OK if you watch what your doing.   Know the laws.. but also know how to play the "game" in your favor. Watch your deposits and withdrawals and if you deal in larger sums of money, watch the paper trail. And remember, you can have several banking accounts.   Cash makes no enemies!
  22. At 20 feet... I tell them, "drop the knife or die". I use .357 magnum and most of the time .44 magnum or .454 Casull which would already be drawn, cocked, and aimed.  I like to aim just above the tip of their nose in the "triangle of death".   After 5 seconds, if the knife is not dropped.. I fire.   No need to side step and never closer than 20 feet.
