I got a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk with the V6 back in October, I've already put 6500 miles on it. It is awesome! Handles great, good gas mileage and super comfortable (I'm 6'0" 240#). They had some tranny issues on the 2014s and early 2015s but seem to have it under control. Mine has been flawless in that regard and I drive pretty hard. Finally got to drive it over snow this past week and felt great even over some steep back roads getting to where I work. I was also thinking Subaru but I'm VERY glad I got the Jeep. Growing up in a dairy, my job was to keep the vultures off the newborn calves. They do kill calves, I have seen it: they come down on it from different angles and fly off when the mother charges at them, eventually she gets exhausted and cannot fight them off anymore. They poke at the umbilical stump and the rectum of the calf and wait for it to die, the whole thing takes about 6 hours, 10-20 vultures doing it. I tried slingshot, BB guns, rocks etc but as soon as I left they'd come back, someone had to be there all the time when we had a fresh calf. Finally my dad let me at them with my 39A. I would get called whenever the vultures would land in a tree next to the neonate pen, I'd shoot one and leave it there, none would come back for at least a week, after a while they stopped landing in that tree at all but anywhere else there was a dead animal you'd see a healthy population of vultures. I wasn't allowed to shoot them but in that tree.

I'm glad I didn't buy those OEM G17 mags. I'm waiting for these, apparently they come out in April. I don't know if they'll ever be in stock long enough anywhere though...

"I really can't find the right word for it. It's heartbreaking."  Police also discovered the body of the suspect, 22-year-old Vito Riservato. As of Sunday, the Kentucky State Police said they were not searching for another suspect.  All four bodies were found in or around the home, all suffering from gunshot wounds.  Flags were flown at half staff at Trigg County Intermediate School, where Joy Champion taught for 30 years. She mainly taught fourth grade.  "Everything my son learned, she learned from Joy Champion," said Robin Ford-Stagner, Joy Champion's co-worker of more than 10 years.  The family belonged to Cadiz Church of Christ, where Lindsey Champion was an elder. Emily Champion worked as a veterinarian for racetrack horses in Louisiana. She graduated from Auburn University.  Ryan Champion, 36, survived the shooting. He and his sister, Emily Champion, were in town Sunday visiting their parents. Emily was spending time with her family before starting a new job in November, Ryan said. The Champions had just returned from church that morning. Ryan said because of the ongoing investigation, he can only share certain details of what happened inside the house. But according to Ryan, he was the only person who walked out alive after Riservato came to the home. Riservato briefly met the victims last week, according to Tfc. Jay Thomas, a spokesman for the Kentucky State Police. "It was a very short relationship, that's all I can say," Ryan said. The man added he wishes he intervened sooner. He said he believes Riservato spared him because he was not considered a threat. "I was able to turn the tables on him. He got close enough to me that I could turn the tables, and that was it," Ryan said. "Every minute the entire thing was going on, that's all I was waiting for. I was waiting for an opportunity." Ryan was released from the hospital Sunday. He was uninjured. He said it pains him to return to the crime scene that was once his home. "That's where I grew up. That's my home," he said."When I see certain things around the house, I can still see mom and dad." Police cleared the crime scene around 6:30 a.m. Monday. The bodies will now be sent to Madisonville, KY, for autopsies, Thomas said."---

AIM surplus gets some in every now and then at a bit over $400. They go pretty quick but it'd be the perfect candidate to get one cerakoted. I traded for one by FN and got lucky it ended up being a rare aluminum alloy frame and I got it koted sniper gray and put the pachmayr grips on it looks awesome. My dad has it. I have a practical model from 1992 and love it. But the FN surplus mags don't work all the time on it for some reason. I agree everyone should have at least one.

I had a Hi-Power Cerakoted at Predator Custom Shop and they did a good job, it was a complete coating and I think I paid $165.    I went to Tactical Advantage Corp. as well to get an estimate and they would have charged a bit more to do a Duracoat on the same pistol but they showed me some of the results of their work and I was very impressed. The finish of duracoat may be better for a revolver. I liked the cerakote better for the hipower.   I have not worked with TAC but shot there a couple times and they seem like good folks. One of my friends is a regular client and speaks highly of them.
