  1. After several years, and living in several places, I finally have neighbors that I like. I knew them somewhat before I moved there though, so that usually makes things better between folks in the same area. For the neighbors that I didn't like in the past, I learned that there is always something that can accidentally be done to make things better in the neighborhood. Take those that throw those late night parties for instance. Simply drink a few beers, and then go join the party. While there, make sure to consume or "accidentally" spill as much of their alcohol as possible. Also, be drunker than you actually are and "accidentally" break things here and there in their house until alot of good stuff has been trashed. Try to do this without being seen if possible, but if you do get caught it shouldn't be a big deal since you're drunk and partying. After their house has been trashed a few times they'll eventually stop having parties, some get to where they don't even invite anyone at all over to their house anymore.

    AND.....

Yeah, today has been bad. I got at least two days worth of work done that I wasn't planning to do until tomorrow or Thursday.
  3. X2 Personally I got spanked in some form or fashion from just about everyone in my family. With mom and dad it was the belt, with my grandmother it was going out in the yard to cut my own switch for her to use, with others it was just their hand. I knew the difference between right and wrong long before I was a teenager. Seems that kids these days don't learn it that fast because they don't get spanked. When I get around to having kids, they will be spanked when they do something bad enough. Not beaten, but they will get spanked. Anyone that tries to say anything against me spanking my own kids will also be spanked.
  4. This goes along with the "to clear, or not to clear" argument. What if you had hunkered down inside your bedroom to wait for the police. They got there, kicked your door in, only to find that it was the dishwasher... This is one of the many reasons I will almost always choose to clear my house.
  5. I've had some BBQ coon that was fairly good. In a SHTF situation, since laws and hunting regulations wouldn't come into play, I would say I can survive for quite some time between the coons, squirrels, turkeys, doves, deer, rabbits, and several other wild animals that I see on a regular basis. As for horses, I met a guy from New Mexico a long time ago that told me he had a party before and one horse fed lots of folks there, and it was pretty good. If the situation is bad enough, and food becomes very scarce, I'm not past cooking and eating just about any animal out there.
  6. I would hope that most folks would understand that that part of my post was in a joking manner, because tying anyone to anything and leaving them like that can get you in serious trouble, doesn't matter if it's a client or not, or mental condition or not. I was basically stating that for me personally leaving my family alone in a bad neighborhood is NOT an option, and job loss or jail time wouldn't matter much to me in the situation.
  7. AAA or not I have to agree with you on not leaving them. I would have called someone to come bring us some gas while I waited with them for my peace of mind, or at least tried to find a LEO to stay while I went for gas. I suppose if I could only choose between option A and option B it would have been B, as option A would simply be out of the question. Before I did that, I would have tied my client's hands to the steering wheel, locked the car doors, and left him there so that I could take my family with me to get gas.
  8. They're still gobbling alot where I'm hunting at, and just honestly this being my first year hunting after yesterday I believe I'm hooked, and haven't even fired at one yet. My dad and I have been trying to decide where exactly we need to be for a while now to get them to us. We went out to a spot that we thought we could cut them off at, but ended up being wrong about that. They were in the area a bit for a while but right after daylight some coyotes came in and seemed to push them completely out of the area. So about 7:30 we moved out to another spot overlooking a big field because we realized where we were there wasn't enough visibility, and as soon as we got there there were a couple of hens moving over the next hill to join the others that we could still here way off in the distance. We sat and called but never could get anything to come back, and around 9:30 or 10 decided to just sit there and drink coffee and enjoy being in the woods. After a few minutes I decided to get out my gobble call to practice with it a little since I hadn't really messed with it much. Played with it a little, and then put it down to drink some coffee. Probably 10 minutes after I put it down, I got an answer from just across the field on the next hill. I hit the gobble call again and immediately got an answer again, and then we saw him running down the hill towards us. He stopped just inside the woods across the field on the other hill though about 150 yards away, and it looked like he was searching the area where we were to try to find a bird. He stood there for over an hour, and never took a step. We finally ended up having to leave before he ever came across. I believe if I would have had a couple of decoys set up he would have came straight to us. With that being said, I will have decoys before Saturday. I now know where I need to be, how I need to call, and where I need to put decoys.
  9. VERY well said. By my way of thinking a definition of terrorism would be those that go against our Constitution or try to destroy it. IMO this should include those that protest against our rights, and it should also include those in government these days that are trying to "find a way around the Constitution" or trying to change it completely. Seems the government and the media these days want the people to believe that it's those that are against government that are the terrorists. Like I've said, I never thought I would see it in my lifetime but I believe that if things keep going the way they are, those in this country that try to live based on the Constitution will be considered criminals.
  10. I'd say definately more than a coincidence, and I'd also like to point out the fact that Obama was rooting for the Saints.
  11. Now I'm remembering in the movie Varsity Blues where Billy Bob is eating pancakes and drinking the syrup out of the bottle. Makes me think bottled gravy would be a great idea.
  12. I think you just made my 1911 selection for me, FINALLY. I don't know why I hadn't seen that particular one before.
  13. All well put. I was just talking with someone this morning about another person I know who pisses me off. He works maybe 2 days a week, makes much less per hour than I do when he does work, yet when all is said and done he brings home more a week than I do.
  14. I'm far from knowledgeable on 1911's, but I've been trying to decide on which one I want. So I must ask, what's the one on the left?
  15. Like Mike said you wont be disappointed with a Savage. Personally for your first one I would go with the cheaper of the two. The one you listed with the AccuTrigger is a good deal, but if you haven't fired many rifles IMO you would be better off getting use to a standard trigger and then upgrading to one with the AccuTrigger later on. That could be argued the other way around though in that the AccuTrigger will help you shoot more accurately from the beginning.
  16. Maybe Mike has purchased a private island somewhere, and is trying to get a list together of what needs to be stocked on this island for when we all have to flee this country due to government issues. It'll be the TGO island, and we'll have lots of pizza, sweet tea, and eggs. Maybe there'll be ghosts and UFO's there as well, or maybe even Bigfoot? Or my other guess would be he's thinkin of opening a restaurant and is trying to gather up a good menu...The building he's looking at may be close to a popular UFO sighting area, and could possibly be haunted. I'm hoping it's the Island idea, that would be great with the direction this country is headed.
  17. I'd have to say sweet tea.

    What if.....?

For most of my stuff I'm like everyone else, and would let them have it. I have a few things that have sentimental value though, and whoever might have one of those items in their hand would be shot on site, and I would take the jail sentence. Since the majority of the population wouldn't have a clue what these items would be, their best bet for their own safety would be to stay off of my property until I arrive.
  19. I'd say only if she were a trashy hooker. I've seen some really high class hookers in my day that probably wouldn't be considered litter.
  20. That's a bad situation, since guns kill people those things could just up and start shooting one day. I know there are bad situations these days in schools, but in my day that wasn't too long ago we all had our rifles or shotguns in our vehicles during hunting season. I also had to teach my highschool g/f how to shoot because they had some kinda target shooting project in her school for her senior year. Also things like pocket knives were generally always carried, and teachers would even ask us students to borrow one on occasion. It's hard to believe how different things are just a few years later in that same school. A friend of mine's son got suspended last year, because he worked on his truck to get it running so he could go to school, and accidentally left the screwdriver in his back pocket. He was suspended for having a freakin screwdriver in his back pocket that he didn't even remember was there.
  21. That's how I would be too, along with a big portion of the country. With that in mind though, they would end up putting a higher tax of some sort on those items that are absolutely needed, or come up with some other way of taking from us. As I've said before, to me it seems obvious that the issue isn't as much with the tax system as it is with government spending. Until someone somewhere finds some way of getting the government spending under control, then we as taxpayers are going to continue to get screwed over.
  22. It has to be, I lived almost completely on beer for about 6 years.
  23. When he said this..... I just assumed that he also meant we could have bacon with everything as well. Comes on cheeseburgers, pizza, and mine would have to be bacon wrapped burritos I suppose..
  24. I'd have to say burritos myself. From time to time I find myself getting burnt out on burgers, pizza, heck I even get tired of steak from time to time. No matter how many times I have burritos though I can always have some again the next day.
  25. Exactly. It's only logical that the people that do not pay federal income tax will vote for higher taxes on those of use that do pay them. Their money has to come from us as taxpayers, so the more the government takes from us to give to them the better off they are. In '09 "nearly half of US households" were in that group, so before long there will be MORE than half in that group, and that will make us as taxpayers powerless to vote against higher taxes.
