  1. Probably a typo from when someone changed the carried weapon in the joke. The first time I saw read this joke, they were carrying a G23 and the redneck fired 20 or 30 shots.
  2. No, Bloomberg and his collection of sidekicks are the ones who are all upset about pink guns. http://www.lauerweaponry.com/images/pdfs/lcw_cvh.pdf
  3. Breaking in an AR-15: 1.) Fondle rifle in store 2.) Wince in sympathy for the painful screams coming from your wallet at price of rifle and ammo. 3.) Wince again at price of gas while filling the tank up for an immediate trip to the range 4.) Shoot 100 rounds, trying to keep your s*** eatin' grin under control. 5.) Go home, get yelled at by spouse/girlfriend/significant other for expensive toy. Clean weapon. 6.) Shoot as needed/desired. Clean after every use.
  4. Or, go get a full scholarship to college. Keep that scholarship through all four years. Graduate, and ask for an M16 at graduation instead of a new car.
  5. Any chance at some hints on the general price ranges on some of these sale items for those of us seriously considering a 3 hour drive? I've got a 17 year old cousin down that way who wants me to bring my AR down for her to shoot anyways... But more incentive than also having an excuse to visit some relatives I actually like, as opposed to certain in-laws... Would help me get off this comfy fence.
  6. Handload some lead bulleted +P+ 9mm and sell them that for their GLOCK to appendix carry Mexican style. (=
  7. If memory serves, TAC2 is a private range, but that might have changed in the five years since I moved. The Sevierville Indoor Range is really nice, but it's pistols only.
  8. I've got a Miami Classic II for my XD Service. And it's very comfortable. I have trouble concealing it well though, probably because my jackets were tailored for right hip carry, rather than a shoulder rig. Tie-downs on both sides are the only way I can keep it from smacking me in the ribs as I move around during the day. Oddly enough, and probably due to the cut, my mag carrier conceals better than the pistol.
  9. The new polymer Taurus. The 24/7 is it?
  10. /begin Soviet Political Officer imitation Comfortable grip!?!?!? Is not golf club! Is rifle! Used by peasants! Not decadent western couch potato! Does not need comfortable grip! Thirty million peasants cannot make mistake! Motherland give you this rifle! /end Soviet Political Officer imitation But, to answer your question, Advanced Technology makes a Dragunov style "drop in" stock for AKs. It's not too bad. TAPCO & Command Arms both make various grips & forearms for AKs as well. So does Leapers, but I've never seen those in person.
  11. Tree stand hunting... I'm never going to understand the logic... I also want to know what they fed that deer to convince it to stand still for two more missed shots. I've never seen one who didn't bolt for the woods after the first miss.
  12. I suppose it would be nice to ask this now... How are you going to be mounting the scope on the AR? On the flattop, or on the carry handle mount? And if you're mounting on the flattop, do you also have a front sight that will be getting in the way of the optics view?

    Computer Guys

Probably the same lunatics who installed the sprinklers in the server room at the hospital I used to work at. We always figured a power ballad and a cigarette lighter would be the way to go.
  14. And very warped senses of humor they are at that.
  15. The last time I was at the Bristol Mall, which was about 7-8 months ago, it was still posted on the downstairs entrance. And the Johnson City Mall's silly rules sign is just a no weapons blurb on the code of conduct that doesn't even come close to meeting statutory requirements. I carry in there on the rare occasion that I have to enter the place.
  16. You mean you're special enough to have a European market only GLOCK in the supremely dangerous defense load of .380 ACP?
  17. http://web.utk.edu/~icehocky/ The Ice Vols do. But only for the last forty years or so... There's also the Knoxville Ice Bears, professional hockey, but not NHL.
  18. I'm amazed someone hasn't come up with one of these for Paris Hilton's trip to jail.
  19. Yeah, if you have to go through Illinois to get there, you'll need to stop before you leave Indiana and secure your weapon in the trunk, separated from it's ammo until you cross over into Missouri. And if you're taking that route, I wouldn't stop until I was in West St. Louis or even St. Charles, rather than stopping just across the line in East St. Louis, which is not a very pleasant neighborhood.
  20. Hockey sticks make better weapons than softball bats. (=
  21. So should we all start making annual pilgrimages to Winchester for a Holy Day of gun fondling and ritual expenditure of ammunition?
  22. Well, if you're having success with a handgun plan that aims at a $200-500 price point... Why not apply the same basic theory to long guns with a lower inventory level? There's probably a lot of long guns that would match up with that price range. Savage package guns, Henry lever actions, or other guns that you won't normally find at the local Wal-Mart, but that are still within the price range you're aiming for. I guess it really just depends on your customer base.
  23. So you're condoning the illicit cohabitation of the most glorious product of St Browing's mind and a piece of cheap tupperware? Heretic. Store the Glock where it's supposed to be: buried in the garden with your AK-47's in case zombies attack or you need to scare Congress with an evil "assault weapon".
  24. Pouring store-brand Windex down the barrel, then with hot soap & water seems to work just fine for me. Drying the barrel out can take a little while sometimes though...
