Now that is funny... Reminds me of a restaurant the wife and I went to. Wouldn't sell her chicken dinner with all white meat. When the manager came out to explain he said it was because everybody asked for white and they couldn't sell the dark, so... They had discontinued the sale of white meat and only served dark meat.... Academy Sports in Cool Springs had over 1k of Tul 762 x 39 at $6/20 at the service desk this afternoon. Also Independence 556/223 at $10/20, 308 and several other flavors as well, 45-40-380. I didn't pick any up but there wasn't a line formed either. No 22 to be found...   Funny, little gal behind the service desk, I asked her if they had any Rem 223, she said no, I asked her what was in a stack of boxes behind her.... She said just a lot of something called 556...

I been running in to this same thing allot... Mine is worth this but yours is only worth that, blab blah blah... Every Kel-tec out there now is worth 2 grand and a model 70 Winchester is only worth 200, bah.

Cool, I was starting to think I was the only one that had heard of them. They have a lifetime membership for 150, not really sure what that may get you, a sticker probably, but they have been in the trenches fighting for 2A rights and such.

Anyone a member of the ‘Second Amendment Foundation’? Just wondering about them, as I am considering a lifetime membership. Been seeing allot of headlines lately where they have been going to bat for gun owners around the country and such. I'm already contributing to the NRA on a fairly regular basis and figured they (SAF) may be good to throw some money at from time to time,

I got in on the last batch they had, tax title, diapered, and to the door was 301.00

I got three the other day, they seem just fine, a lot better than my steel mags.

I'm hunting pre-64 model 70's now. More in to the 88's and 100's as I have several of those, 2 pre-64's and 2 late 60's.

I googled them, found some guys on different forums that have been waiting over a year for one, I dunno. One post I read said he had called RRA and was told production was diverted to the AR15 lines.     I'd love to have one of those... 

I got 1+1+3, I think? Maybe just three... :shrug:  Learned a valuable lesson, never hit the backspace whilst in the store! So I'd like 3 if that's possible at this point... Or I'll be just as happy with 5!

I went, scored a sweet deal on a pre-64 mod 88 Winchester from a guy. You don't see one of those make it past the door and still walking very often. Take a man down like a pack of lions on an antelope out in the Serengeti...   Show itself was terrible, crowded and not many tables of guns and such. Wolf steel cased 223 55 gr was $15 bucks a box along with the usual crowd wanting 1200 for a Mini 14, 15 for an AK, I was scared to price an AR. Saw some decent older rifles/shotguns and such at some of the tables. 

Just had an opportunity to purchase a Double Star A2 at $850 and turned it down. If it had been a detachable carry handle I'd have probably been all over it. I ain't paying these prices either, it will be fun to watch folks try and unload rifles that simply aren't worth the price they paid or are asking.

Reckon I have been lucky... been picking up bits and pieces almost every time I go in to a Walmart or Sporting store. Might not be specifically what I was looking for, but a caliber I shoot. Probably amassed close to 10k rounds of various calibers just picking here and there. Hopefully I'll get a chance to pop a few off soon.
