  1. Found easy link in the comments. Both Lamar and Bob voted nay. I'm half surprised: http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=112&session=2&vote=00187 - OS
  2. No, you actually have to be loggin IN to see them. Anonymous doesn't even show the field at all. Dunno why it didn't appear before but I see there's a plus 1 now, normal sense of humor to the rescue. Reckon I really needed to explain it? OP didn't think so. Oh okay, for the ironically challenged: 1. OP said in first post: "...he is calling me a dumb tn inbreeding baptist moron because my gun has stippling done to it..." 2. I said: "Dude, you stippled your Glock? !! What are you, some kind of dumb tn inbreeding baptist moron or something? !!" With a frigging winkie and a smilie, no less. 3. OP said: "LOL". There. A comedy club audience full of DaveS's would be a tough crowd indeed. - OS
  3. And his policy was...? - OS
  4. Actually, more voted FOR it than didn't, so I don't feel like the future is gonna be all roses regarding all this just because it fell 8 votes short of the needed proportion. Just like the 5/4 Heller and McDonald decisions, it's not like all this is a lock for the future, and won't be revisited. - OS

    Shipping a handgun

You can ship it. - Can't use USPS - Can use UPS or FedEX. You'll to take it to a UPS hub, not a UPS store. Think same is true for FedEx, (no FedEx Office) but not positive about that. - Federal law requires that if it's not going to an FFL, you must declare it. UPS and FedEx terms of service require you to declare it in all cases. Neither will ship to an out of state address unless it's to a licensee, and you may have to show FFL info (FFL number) if it's not a known company, depending on the clerk. If you have UPS or FedEx account, and can generate your own label, you can drop it at UPS Store or FedEx Office, but generally only by violating their TOS and not informing contents. - Both carriers also require handguns to go overnight. The cheapest overnight service starts at about $25, longer the distance, more the bux. Metro areas will usually have 3 levels of overnight, smaller areas just one or two (the most expensive ones). This is not by federal law. If you send another class and gun disappears or is damaged, they won't honor your claim due to TOS violation. Also note that any given clerk may give you a big hassle due to poor knowledge or training, regardless of federal law or the company's own TOS. Shipping a gun intrastate is often problematic, even though it's fine with federal law and UPS's own TOS, for example. Note that all the above, even though not in TOS, seems to be waived if you have FFL's call tag. Drivers will generally even pick them up. I used to have some handed to me on route with FedEx Ground, and I'd take them (long guns only with Ground). - OS
  6. He's so straight laced I'm surprised he made children. One positive thing about a super rich guy in office: graft to fatten his wallet isn't likely. - OS
  7. Well, the candidates' orgs are required to remove them all up by a certain date, so I guess it would be impossible to know whether you were doing it for his org or own your own. Some may well get kids to do some of it, dunno. - OS
  8. Because someone doesn't appreciate (actually not so) subtle humor? Actually, I don't see any rating at all for either of my posts in this thread, so dunno what you're seeing. - OS
  9. I hear a big whooosh.
  10. The primary winners will likely use them again, could possibly get in a dab of trouble if seen? Maybe just grab the losers' signs? - OS
  11. Six topics below yours: http://www.tngunowne...d-to-sue-glock/
  12. Real lesson here is perhaps that short of dire financial emergency, don't sell off a uber reliable legendary firearm like a G17. Just add to the arsenal when you can afford it. - OS
  13. Here's an ongoing thread re sheath makers on SurvivalistBoards. Very first post has a bunch, linked to sites: http://www.survivali...ead.php?t=93782 I've used Al Welke for Kydex, don't know if he makes a horizontal design or not, but he'll make them for any knife, though you'd have to send him knife of course if it's something he doesn't already make. Know he does TekLok compatible so two of those would do horizontal. Google to see some of his stuff, doesn't operate a website AFAIK. azwelke@aol.com Any Kydex sheath with the opposing rivet holes can be made into horizontal for belt with just a couple of paracord loops, of course, and that's what a lot of folks do. There's of course huge ongoing sheath forum on BladeForums you can research: http://www.bladeforu...heaths-amp-Such - OS
  14. Just a note, Rahm DeadFish ain't gay (as far as anyone knows). He's married with 3 kids. - OS
  15. Yep, it worked, you added to your geekage.
  16. Well, Emanuel in Chicago and Memino in Boston both said they didn't want them in their fair cities, that's seems rather impolite to say the least, if not "punishing". Rahm was really a riot, saying that Chick-Fil-A did not express "Chicago values". It is to laugh. - OS
  17. The world is at your fingertips, what with that thar interwebz thang and all. Main federal firearms statute section of prohibitions is easily found all over, too: Here's one with big print: http://www.law.corne...ode/text/18/922 - OS
  18. Just did spot check on Sportsman's Guide, since they flood me with catalogs. Most everything seems to be up ~ 10% just in last 30 days. - OS
  19. Still pretty crowded after 7 at the one near me. I sure hope all them Christian conservatives turn out in same proportion on Nov. 2 against our pro gay marriage President. - OS
  20. If we know about his "secret", it's because he now considers it a politically expedient "leak". - OS
  21. Could NOT find it. When you do, open article, then copy what's in your browser address bar and paste it in post.
  22. Well, I voted for Zach. And unless it's some issue that gets press I agree with, I also automatically vote against any amendments in city/county charter. I figure they're some shortcut to benefit some sort of chicanery. Oh, and there's a couple of judges to be thrown out, I automatically do that too. - OS
  23. I couldn't even vote against my state rep douche, Joe Armstrong. Running unopposed again. - OS
  24. Unlike most places, all the chicken is real chicken breast, even their "strips" and "nugget" type thingies: Not this:
  25. Is there indeed a Dem running in opposition? - OS
