  1. She hit me with a Bong. LMAO.
  2. Watch out for the flying teeth.
  3. Crap how did that happen?
  4. TOP Notch! My wife and I signed up earlier this month. Really nice place. One of the nicest I have seen. If you are active duty they waive the 400.

  6. They sure ain't wasting any time. Scroll down about 3/4 of the page under Law Enforcement. Link-http: http://www.whitehouse.gov/agenda/urban_policy/ Address Gun Violence in Cities: Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent.

    Curious?

You can't have too many tools or guns. Working on AR's is easy, and the tools needed to build them aren't expensive. Having said that, it is nice to be able to switch out uppers.
  8. I am going to have to go to GA just to "experience" it for myself.
  9. Good range. Excellent staff. Will order and I haven't found better prices.
  10. I was interested. 1299 good lord.
  11. I believe that in you need to establish Intent, Ability, and Jeopardy to use deadly force. That being said, I also believe that in your home of dwelling the state gives you the first two. So basically you need to be in fear for your life. Well if you break into my home I fear for my life and you will be shot.
  12. As far as specific parts. I guess it is a personal thing. I would have to see the "pre" fit part on the gun to make a decision. If there is one and it fits I would say go for it.
  13. Hammer and bevertail are Ed Brown. If you are a machinist none of this will be an issue for you. I did mine by hand with the EB jig. If I had access to a mill there would be Novac sights on mine. I fondled a EB Kobra Carry last night. It was heavenly, but it was 1800 used. My wife didn't even bother to comment.
  14. Not great pics but... ">
  15. Good information. I use all six, I mean three.
  16. They are slide stops not slide releases. That being said, I would focus on reliability and trigger time. There are a million things you can do to a 1911, and a million dollars can be spent. Shoot the snot out of yours, then find someone to let you shoot a really nice one or rent one. I have loaded and shot thousands of rounds through my SA. I love it and will never part with it. It is not the prettiest, but it is 100% reliable and very accurate. Hell even my wife likes it. It started life as basic GI like yours. After 17 years it has just matured. I will post a picture later.
  17. I have a few of those. They can be quite handy.
  18. When my SA was stock I bobbed the hammer. When the slide cocks the hammer it pushes it past full cock, this is probably where the bite is coming from. You don't need to take off much, take little off at a time until it stops biting you.
  19. I wouldn't avice loading rifles with pistol poweder, can you say Darwin award. Rifles and Pistols are two very different beasts when it comes to reloading. Pistol powders have much faster burn rates than rifle. If you put 40 grains of unique in a 06 case it would probably blow up the rifle. Unique can be used for both 380 and 44. You really need to get a couple of load manuals. Be careful and follow the manuals.
  20. A beavertail will make shooting more comfortable. But a "drop in" is about butt ugly.

    Why 1911?

My Dad say's it looks like you are staring down a railroad tunnel. I love my beat up old SA. It has fired many thousands of rounds. Hardly had an issue. My wife and I were at the range a while back. She was trying to master my G19. We agreed that she was having issues with trigger control. I asked her to try my 1911. She didn't want too, to heavy, too much recoil. Mind you I can't remember her ever shooting it, but choose your battles carefully. At any rate after a while she relented and tried the 1911. To her amazement she was consistently cutting holes in the 10 ring. Now she loves it, raves about the trigger. JMB knew what he was doing.
  22. The Dillion 550 is a great press. I have had one for over 10 years. I started with a RCBS Rock Chucker Kit. I then went to the Dillion. I load all my pistol calibers on the Dillion and rifle on my RCBS. You could do both on the Dillion. I have loaded rifle on my 550. There is just a lot more prep needed for a rifle case than a pistol case. Also there are odds and ends you will need to get started. Scales, calipers, etc..
  23. I love my 22 rifles. I have a Thompson Center Classic that is a tack driver. It wears a Leupold fixed 4x. I also have a Henry H001t that is one of my most "fun" rifles. It sports the stock iron sights. My wife myself and others that visit us like to sit out back and shoot at a set of spinners I have in the back yard. Reactive targets are great fun.
