  1. Being a 'Gregory', the Hilltop version needs to be capped... initial impressions are everything.
  2. "Well sh!t"... best line in weeks!
  3. Oh. And Lindsey Graham...pffft. That is all.
  4. This is my first NRA convention. Been a member for years, but never really wanted to travel far to fight crowds and pay too much for a hotel room. So I have to say WOW! What a crowd and everything I ever wanted to see from the gun culture  :usa: . Ended up with 50 lbs. of literature and catalogs in my pack. Enough reading to hold me for a year until the next one. But I'm going back tomorrow for more!
  5. I'll be there all three days as well. If you see someone with a 'Team .30-30' maroon shirt, it's probably me!
  6. I know this is completely inappropriate, but when Rick saw the gate was open, the voice ran through my head...   **ps in the wire! **ps in the wire!
  7. But, but, but... they're zombies! Aren't they a little soft in the head???
  8. I think Pete held his own because of pure rage and jealousy and because he is just a bad person. Rick is still in the questioning phase, maybe, as he had to almost be pushed into the scenario by SCarol. He is committed to the idea and professes it verbally, but he's not completely there (i.e. conscious) or he would have let Pete have it at the pond scene. JMO.
  9. I never thought they would vindicate Shane, but they sure are giving it a try! Not sure how they're going to pull this one back. Maybe Rick gets kicked out and finally hooks back up with Morgan and together they somehow save Alexandria... I've already spent too much time thinking about it today instead of working
  10. Prayers and healing thoughts for you and your Father. It breaks my heart every time I read one of these posts.   G.
  11. Prayers and healing thoughts Bersaguy!   G.
  12. I have handled a few of the new 'Remlins' (bersaguy, since Remington acquired Marlin, they closed the plant and moved operations to Remington plants, fired most of the Marlin craftsmen and tried to build lever actions with people who only knew how to assemble bolts. Their quality went through the floor).   The fit and finish is getting better, but still nowhere near the older leverguns. The actions also feel like they poured sand into them before shipping. Some of the .45/70 and CA caliber actions have been usable, but the stocks still look like a kid did the checkering or the wood itself looks like it was made of compressed newspapers.   Yes, I own quite a few of the 'JM' Marlins and am a little bit of a snob. I only have one with a CBS (1989 30TK), which I promptly removed and replaced with a Beartooth 'Safety Delete'.   G.
  13. Terry,   Here is a link to a Lyman .pdf that has a good illustration of the two types of crimp at the very bottom.   Hope it helps, Greg.   http://www.lymanproducts.com/lyman/dies/pdf/dieInstructions.pdf
  14. Hey Terry!   That's a little aggressive for a straight wall case and a bullet with no cannelure. Most of the time I use a slight crimp so that I can still see the outer edge of the end of the case. Should be more than enough for all but the hottest .357 loads.   G.
  15. Also went today and it was a sad excuse for a show. Going to have to start driving to Louisville from now on I guess.
  16. Here is what is on my person (not counting wallet and watch). M&P 9c w/extra mag Choice of EDC knife (in no order: Spyderco Tenacious, Cold Steel Recon 1 Mini, SOG Twitch II, Kershaw Skyline). I have others, but they are either only for the collection or too cheap for me to carry and still keep my dignity. Home made paracord double knot bracelet. Keys on carabiner with Leatherman Micra. Fire, first aid etc. in EDC bag. G. Edit: For some reason I cannot attach my photo. I'll work on it and get it attached as soon as I can. Ha! Got it! Helps to read the faq.
  17. How deep are your pockets!?! I'll post a picture of mine tomorrow after I have some coffee.
  18. I hate that another business I knew is closed and that the people who worked there are now having to look elsewhere (not to mention the clientele), but Mr. Rayburn knew he was working against the feelings and beliefs of the average Tennessean.   He let the anti-gun elites lead him to believe he didn't need the average client here in TN.
  19. Time to send it back and get a fresh one!
  20. Prayers and healing thoughts. I always admired my Grandmother for what she did, what she represented and how she lived life.   That generation has much to teach us. I only hope we are listening.   G.
  21. Now that's some riding! Makes my piddling around on my recumbent look very boring.
  22. My DVR is brimming with episodes of 'Gun Stories' on Outdoor Channel.   I absolutely love this show. I do not know if they get everything right (I'm assuming they are pretty close), but the interviews and the back stories of guns from the past make me go to GB every time and look for them and see if I can afford another piece of history!   If you watch the show, what is your favorite episode?   For me it has to be the '73 Winchester. To be honest I am a Marlin Man, but the 1873 is the iconic lever gun in my opinion!   I did enjoy the 'Guns of Little Big Horn 1,2' just recently aired.   G.
  23. Bring targets and a stapler. They are nice people and I use them almost exclusively as my range! Lunch will be slim pickins unless you like Hardees, Sonic or Subway for commercial. There are a couple of Mexican places if you want to sit down.   P.S. They do sell targets, but bring your own!   G.
