  1. I carry everywhere it's legal. Always. Always have one within reach at the house. Always.
  2. I had a similar problem back when I first started reloading.   Found out I had some small pistol primers that were shorter than normal. I thought they were completely seated, but they were not. When the firing pin struck the primer, the primer would slide further into the pocket and not ignite. I use only CCI No. 500 primers and make sure to seat them all the way in. I've had no further problems.   Hope this helps,   G.
  3. Nice meeting you Lance! Liked your rifle. May have to look at picking up one myself!   Nice shooting!
  4. I should be out at OK sometime around 1pm.
  5. Sounds good! Wish they had rifle kits in stock. Guess they're catching up after the holidays.
  6. Looks like white oak to me.   G.
  7. You pass at your safest speed.   That being said, if someone is plowing up the left lane, be the patient one and wait for that person to go on by.
  8.   What calibers would you suggest? I reload everything I shoot (except rimfire), so I'm willing to give just about anything a try.
  9. Congrats! I'm thinking when I retire here in a few years, I would like to part time at a LGS. Either that or cut grass at a golf course. Or both!   Greg.
  10. Actually I do reload :) Just meant that I don't load to pressure signs. I normally find the lightest load I can for accuracy. I haven't tried downloading yet, but it is an option. Was just thinking about scratching an itch for a new rifle!   6BR looks interesting, but I have a feeling I would open a whole new can of worms by taking it up to that level.   Greg.
  11. I am having to look into downsizing the caliber of rifle that I shoot. Currently I have rifles in .30-06, .308, 7.62x54r, .30-30 and .22. When I go to shoot, I stay for several hours and shoot many rounds (until my shooter's grin gets big enough!).   As age and damaged shoulder begin to creep up on me, recoil is beginning to take some of the fun out of my sessions at the range. I love my bolt guns and especially my lever guns, but I want to continue to shoot longer ranges and the venerable .30-30 and .22 will only go so far.   So here is my conundrum. I'm thinking about picking up a bolt gun in a medium caliber (.243 is currently the high one on my list), but all my reading is making me leary of buying a rifle and having to replace the barrel after (worse case) 1500 rounds. I don't reload to pressure normally so I think my barrel life would be longer than that, but was wondering what you guys who own and shoot .243s have run into.   Should I consider a different caliber? I want to keep the recoil down, but still want the range.   Thanks,   Greg.
  12. I would love to do some squirrel hunting this year. Where around Murfreesboro (within 75 miles) can someone go that is public land to hunt them?   I used to hunt our land down in Tullahoma years ago, but now live in the 'Boro.   Thanks,   Greg.
  13. That guy is a lunatic. The only reason he is still on air is due to his stupid statements. It's like a train wreck you know is coming and you just can't turn away. Either that or more people than I think actually agree with him. That second thought is the one that really scares me!
  14. Wow. That is a nice rifle! Grats :)
  15. I use a single stage RCBS. Wouldn't want to hand pound it either. I've had good success with Reloader 15 and H335. Good luck! Greg.
  16. Hopefully that guy will now be out of the market for a few months. As those people become fewer, I've got my fingers crossed that this will ease up. Not holding out for the 'good ole days' of full shelves, low prices and a warm glow coming from the ammo case, but maybe we'll see fewer spikes of high privces and completely bare shelves.   Greg.
  17. Looks like they are in stock. I think. You never know until you order it seems.   http://www.blackhawk.com/product/Axiom-RF-Ruger-1022-Rifle-Stock,1371,166.htm     Greg.
  18. Can someone point me to the vote details? I would like to see which Senators voted for the amendment and how our 2 from Tennessee voted.
  19. Don't forget thier Facebook pages!   https://www.facebook.com/bobcorker   https://www.facebook.com/senatorlamaralexander
  20. Let's hope not. We're getting hit from every which way possible as it is now.
