Can't say that about one of them new fangled plastic guns :).
I reckon if it truly were the pistol from God, that sumbitch wouldn't jam. ;)
 2.
All this debate on a .45 platform? The best .45 for carry is the one that the good Lord handed to John Moses Browning and he passed onto us. :)
The sad part, there's many who take this stance, very seriously. The only 45acp I've carried is the Kahr CW45. I love Kahr pistols in general, but the dao long trigger takes some getting used to. They're very smooth, but very long. If you haven't handled one, I'd recommend it
 3. I should have added to my first post; There's nothing quite like building. With buying, the initial excitement only comes once, the day you pick it up. With building, it comes every time a package comes in and every time a piece gets assembled. To me, the "I did that" and pride of ownership factor far outweighs any money I would've saved by buying a factory gun. That being said, there's also fun in trying to find the best deals on parts, catching things on sale, that sort of thing. My posts might sound contradictory, but just trying to help
 4. Honestly I've thought about one, but I'd like to handle one. Surprisingly none of my buddies have a piston upper
 5.
Yep. My first one was around $2k without sights. I'm actually killing another rifle to do the second one. It will still be expensive because of the new barrel kit.
My builds always end up costing way more, simply because I'll put the quality parts on that I want. I think you're asking the wrong question OP, I think the question is what will you be happy with? We can't answer that I could buy a $600 rifle, but I wouldn't be happy until I put probably $500 worth of aftermarket stuff on it that I would on my normal builds. All personal preference. But I will say, I built the carbine on the left here for around $950
 6. Looks great man, I like it a lot. I've been planning a 300BO carbine upper but you may have just sold me on doing one for my pistol. Decisions, decisions.
 7.
This reminds me of a developmentally challenged young lad from my youth who put a Western Auto rotating light on his bicycle and thought he could pull people over.
Now that is great. I'd say you handled it better than most of us would have Spots
 8. So I forgot to take a picture of the bcg and scope alone, but this is what they went on, just test fired. Sorry for the cell phone picture
 9.
I got some 22lr from my daughter and a couple of Lee die set I have been looking for since the scare. And a new watch. My wife went all out. JTMWe the People of the United States, in order to form a more Perfect Union......
I forgot to mention I got some 22lr from my sister in law and some 9mm from my in laws. Did I mention I married into a great family?
 10. I got an AO precision BCG from my Dad (my AR building friend) and my wife got me the barrel for my current build as well as the optic I'm going to run. Pictures to come later
 11. I'd place a monetary wager on the good officer being a current agenda supporter.
 12.
Check this one out I'm at a loss for words http://youtu.be/jW6xOWiegjU Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 of course it ate my spelling.
There's nothing I hate more than to see a "master" throwing around students like a rag doll for filming purposes. I always wonder how they would truly do in a real threat situation
 13.
I am wanting to remove 1 or 2 hiders , they are not pinned or welded. I have receiver vices but from what I have read on the interweb I am afraid I might damage the upper or barrel if I don't buy barrel vises or cut some wood. What is the general consensus here ?
Buy barrel blocks, or cut some from wood just like you said. Don't put that kind of stress on your receiver. It's the softer material compared to your barrel, and in my experience it'll be the first to give way
 14.
There are some gas operated 9mm AR's but they are custom made. I have been told they shoot like 22's though. A blowback 9mm will have a bigger recoil impulse than most 223 AR's.
This has been my experience. I prefer to shoot my dads 45acp carbine more than my 9mm carbine. Not that the 9mm has harsh recoil, but it definitely has more of a "sharp" pulse compared to the smooth recoil of the 45
 15.
Wow. From USA Today, no less - http://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2013/12/19/duck-dynasty-bible-religion-palin-robertson-column/4124181/
Wow, color me surprised.
 16. I've never shot mine at further than 100, but this thread sure makes me want to
 17.
And Cracker Barrel is out. http://www.tmz.com/2013/12/21/duck-dynasty-cracker-barrel-phil-robertson-boycott/ We called a bunch of Cracker Barrel stores, and the managers told us the products that were removed were the ones that had Phil's face plastered on the packaging. Almost to a person, the managers added, "We still offer a wide variety of Duck Commander products," and then we heard a click.
Saw this, and I won't be eating there. I was very proud to see Skyjacker's statement, who is also one of their sponsors. I don't have the link, but the gist of it was that they stood behind him completely. Also Under Armor said that while as a company they may not agree with Phil, they stood behind his right to say it. Good to see.
 18. So to the people saying that for Phil this is about money; you're kidding right? This is a man that lived in the woods half his life, still lives in what most would consider a shack, and walks around barefoot on a regular basis. I'm sorry, the man could care less. Just because he has money and lots of it, doesn't mean that money means anything to him, much less that he has a greed for more. It amazes me the absolute bullcrap people will say about someone they know little to nothing about. Did you know Michael Jordan hates parrots? He's a parrot hatin' SOB. Has to be, why else doesn't he have one as a pet? Yes, that's the same line of thinking you're using to say that this is all about money for Phil Robertson. I have a lot of bellybutton lint, hell I may have more than anyone in this thread. It damn sure doesn't mean I love it, or that everything I say is to gather more Come on guys
 19.
As a gay black atheist, I find you all offensive.
Best post in the thread, you win it
 20. As always, late to the party. Never had much interest at the prices they were going for, but for $79 I would have been all over one
 21.
So the family has no say over how their images are used? Seems like they would have some degree of influence over that.
No, actually they don't at the end of the day. Just watch some interviews with Phil and you'll learn that quickly. There's much more references to God, and preaching that never makes the air, because once again that's out of their control. Personally, I wish they'd just go back to making hunting shows and doing guided hunts. I like Duck Dynasty, but I liked their actual hunting stuff better
 22.
justify it anyway you want The dumb ass said what he thought and a bunch of people defend him. Play it anyway you want.
Lol now HE's a dumbass? Please tell me what about this statement is judgmental "We never, ever judge someone on who’s going to heaven, hell. That’s the Almighty’s job. We just love ’em, give ’em the good news about Jesus—whether they’re homosexuals, drunks, terrorists. We let God sort ’em out later, you see what I’m saying?” -Phil Robertson You see man, it's ok. God, myself, and yes even Phil Robertson still love you
 23.
It's still there, I just re-read the entire piece... http://www.gq.com/entertainment/television/201401/duck-dynasty-phil-robertson?currentPage=3 Ah, my mistake. Must have been the ipad acting up. Kept giving me "page not available" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
24.
see my above post. he thought about it before he said anything. He can say he is not placing judgement, but then he places judgement. He can word it however he sees fit. Thanks for judging my witts.
You're a special kind of silly aren't you? Yes, that's judgement. Really more like an inference from your context, but I'll give you what you want
 25. I do find one thing strange. The third page of the GQ interview online , is now gone. If I'm not mistaken, that's the page where he states clearly that he loves everyone regardless, and that's there's only one that can judge. Strange indeed
