Here's how i do it. These are the basics. Thing I like about the list below is everything comes with the necessary hardware/drill bits/taps ect. Makes it real easy. A Dremel with a good cut off wheel and grinder, a couple punches 1/8 and 1/4, a hand drill with a 1/8 drill bit and about an hour is all it takes. CDNN - Saiga $299 delivered. Carolina Shooters Supply -easiest and cheapest for one stop shopping -Stock - ORIGINAL AK STYLE STOCK TAPCO BLACK - Trigger - TRIGGER GROUP-SAIGA/AK-47 SINGLE HOOK G2 - trigger guard - TRIGGER GUARD-BOLT ON "ANGLED" - retaining plate - TRIGGER PARTS-AXIS PIN RETAINING PLATE FOR THE SAIGA RIFLES/AK 47 - bullet guide - BULLET GUIDE 7.62X39 WITH DRILL AND TAP SET - PG - GRIP AK/SAIGA ORIGINAL STYLE BLACK Just an FYI, this basic build will cost: $299 + 30 transfer/Tics Parts 117.84 = shipping $11(?) = $446.84 If you want to go all the way and get the front end AK103 style (front end) add $45 HG, $30 gas tube, $25 FS, $12 for the FH, $25 gas block, $10 HG retainer, and $150 for labor and finish. Total would be - $733.84 Bottom line is the SLG is a great way to go but cost more. The saiga conversion will cost a little less, but you get to make it exactly like you want it and get the satisfaction of doing the majority of it yourself.

I love my Butt Drugs. "Free parking in the rear"!!!!

It may be toothless but I see it as good ground work, or to follow the analogy the gums. It is easier to add a tooth at a time if need be. Whether it be spineless or effective depends on what comes down the line.

Same guy. He left for a while and then came back a couple weeks ago.

I found Kirk's character to be pretty funny. He was always portrayed as the ideal man ...... until a woman entered the scene. He immediately went crazy.

I absolutely love the Truglo TFO sights! Green front and yellow rear are the way to go. What I like about the TFO's is how much better they are to pick up in the daytime. They are super bright day or night. Much more useful than the CT.

I know this has been posted before, but for the life of me I couldn't find it anywhere. This is just funny stuff. YouTube - Self defense dorks - Real world self defense

Since I've exhausted all the TV shows online I'm familiar with and like, I'm starting to venture out to shows I never watched all that much. One of those is the original Star Trek. Not knocking the show, but what was/is the cult following all about? The acting is hokey, special effects are funny to say the least, and there are about 3/4 plot lines repeated over and over in different ways. Maybe it is my frame of reference was a little late (born in '78). Again not an attack I'm just curious as to why such a huge and passionate following?

This is the company known as Blackthorne ala Hesse, ala Vuclan. If you do a search on any of these names you will read all kinds of horror stories. Of late they seem to be better, but I was scared off after reading thread upon thread of angry customers on many different forums. I would go Model 1 or Del-ton if it were me ...... actually I went Del-Ton twice and they haven't let me down.

At least he's got Jesus on his arm.

Don't know if it was because this was my fourth or I just got the perfect Saiga but finished my conversion tonight in under an hour with a 18v hand drill, Dremel, flat blade screwdriver and a couple punches! still need to paint the underside, but that's no big deal. My first 3 all had something that gave me fits. One the buttstock was darn near impossible to get out. Had to carve around the top tang and screw to get it out. Took near an hour just on that one part. My second one I had to cut the PG nut hole. My first one had to cut the PG nut hole and the trigger hole. aslo cut the rear tang for an ACE adapter. That was torture! This one was easy as pie. I also got a bonus I had overlooked. It is a dimpled version! YEAH! doesn't have the third X, but I'll survive. Anyway, anyone considering doing this, now is the time. Prices are back to normal ..... for 2 years ago at $300! Now if i can only find a Tantal folding stock to put on it!. Found one! Just waiting to get here.

Could he have not just changed the trigger?

I definitely see where in a PC climate such as ours that this is not going to go over well, even if people don't understand why. Like it's been said, GW had a lot of the sam eones done of him and nobody thought to much of it. Like Rhambo has said, there's nothing like a good "crisis" to exploit.

Any holster you get will eventually rub/mar the finish just from slight movement while carrying and holstering. I've been told that leather is actually harder on the finish because it has more contact points with the gun and isn't as slick as Kydex when holstering. Kydex is not as harsh on gun finishes because of just the opposite of above. This is what was told to me by Comp-Tac and K&D. Leather rubs finish off all over and Kydex generally wears at specific points.

MSAR STG Owners and the ArmorAll trigger!
Smith replied to Smith's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Reports are that it last for several hundred rounds. It's not a whole lot different than lube. The trigger pack is not in an area affected by dirt, fouling, or heat so it makes sense that it last. -
Mental note: Never post pictures of the women in my life online!

It may be tough with Joe Arapio in the mix.

I'm sure there are some that like them, but I don't see the need for an expensive somewhat neutered AR. I'd rather have an AR that i could really mod if i wanted to.
-
I had been reading about MSAR STG owners using ArmorAll on their trigger pack to smooth the trigger and lessen the felt pull weight so i thought I'd give it a try. Sprayed a little in there and cleaned off the excess reinstalled and WOW, what a difference. I'm told the trigger gets considerably better once it's broken in, but this sure gets a jump on that. Everything feels much smoother and lighter. Good cheap "mod". I was going to try one of these trigger mods, but I may not after this little trick. This can get the pull down to under 6 lbs. trigger work - USAaug.com Discussion Forums

Thanks TDR. I've been keeping up with the Sergent's recovery. Voted

I think yours got tainted with the other guys.

Funny how intent gets forgotten when a law has been on the books a while.

Glenn's a stand up guy and former mod here. His C&R knowledge alone is a contribution I'd pay benefactor status for. Anyway, glad you're back Glenn and that is a nice rifle. BTW I think TDR was just trying to get his post count back over 5k.

Oh, crap! I think the landing is over THERE!
