Seems like there's low information, no information and MO information in decreasing levels of informedness.

How I Dislodged a Stuck Bullet
tnguy replied to Clod Stomper's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
If your bullets are stuck because you're firing a reduced load, I'd imagine you've vastly increased your margin of safety with regard to the pressure and barrel limits. Not that I would choose to try it :) -
True that it doesn't need public support but having a citizenry and media that can be guaranteed to show the appropriate level of knee-jerk outrage goes a long way.
-
True but you fail to grasp the depth of the anti-gun dementia in the UK. It's not just a belief, it's become embedded in the culture. I know of a few pro-gun Brits but for the most part, it's not even something that's given any more thought than the sky being blue (or rather cloudy gray) and water being wet.

I guess it may well hinge on how easily it is converted to full semi-auto. If it's just catching the bolt on the way back, I'm sure it won't be long before it's made illegal one way or another.

Ferguson, MO, What would you do if this happened near you

I think permanently ending breathing benefits for anyone caught looting would be better. I believe that's the case under martial law?* *Disclaimer: Do not rely on legal advice that may have come from movies ;) -
Reminds me of when I used to hang out of fatwallet. Once scored a DVD player with two rebates so that I came out $5 ahead.

I guess that was a little ambiguous. I meant 1+1.

In for one. Wifey has prime so $1.10 total. Thanks. Actually in for two. Got the wife to order one also.

Then I'll just take this opportunity to plug my app. It's free :D https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rtcons.android.tnradar&hl=en

Doing the same with the wife's phone since work pays for mine, I can't take advantage of a family plan. I do have a couple of tips for this: Callingmart offers a small discount off the regular net10 price, no tax and if you sign up for their emails, they frequently have up to 7% off. They also have a "family plan" which apparently is just 3 PINs at a discount so you can apply them all to the same phone (unfortunately, the only time I tried this, something went funky with the purchase and they ended up refunding me) Another tip is to consider porting your number to Google Voice. This gives you many options for changing your service but still keeping the same number. It's not as seamless as I'd hoped but it works.

You can gear up for a riot and manage to not look military. Though police colors here tend towards the military anyway with the tan shirts. -
Now I'm picturing the final scene from "Logan's Run" ;) Did the seafood department carry "Fish, and plankton, and sea greens and protein from the sea."?

As I am often deep in thought, I get annoyed when people ask me if they can help me find something (or similar) out of the blue. Especially since when I do decide that I need some help, they suddenly evaporate or are busy having managed to foist their helpfulness on someone to polite to blow them off.

I cannot say it seems it has made much difference to me receiving tickets.

Makes note to self to take jumbo pack of ear plugs should protesting be on the agenda. -
This is true. I can't imagine what possible difference it would make either way. The HCP is just proof that you're entitled* to carry if you happen to be made in a situation where it would otherwise be illegal. *Though 2A should be all that's needed of course.
-
I got stopped Friday and as he was handing my docs back, he asked if I had a HCP. I told him I did but I wasn't armed. He told me I should have informed him* as they find out anyway. My thought- "So why would I need to tell you?". I didn't say anything as we'd already had an argument about the speed limit (I was right) and there was no ticket (possibly he had radioed in and found out about the speed limit but I know he didn't have a speed read on me anyway though he could have possibly gone for a visual or found something). *There is no requirement to but I typically do when I am armed.

Fair enough. More surprising than the price difference is that it is only a gallon as compared to the 5 quarts I linked to. I think the T6 is just a gallon also. I was worried for a minute that you were buying the quart bottles. I've seen people do that and it leaves me scratching my head. I go with the T6 because when I researched on the forums for the TDI, it was what nearly everyone recommended. I do use the Mobil-1 for other vehicles though (I tried the T6 in my motocycle and I'm not so sure I like the way it makes the gearchange feel)

Jeez, are your filters gold plated? http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mobil-1-5W-20-Motor-Oil-5qt/17018132 I use Rotella-T6 (synthetic) in my TDI every 10k miles or so. Diesels are a little harder on the oil though. My understanding is the main advantage of synthetics is that the molecules break down less. For a regular commuter gasser, if you don't want to spend the money, non-synthetic should be fine. If you are not always 100% on time with your oil changes, synthetic will give you a little more wiggle room probably (I would not change the schedule unless the manual recommends it though). I have got my oil changed professionally exactly once because the welcome basket when we moved into the house had a free one. The time I sent sitting waiting, doing nothing was totally bogus. I can have my car up on ramps and draining in 5 minutes then be about something else for a while then come back and finish the job in another 10 minutes. Total cost $24* for top quality oil and an OEM filter. *(Will be $28 next time)

They'll probably try that too.

If you represented the gun as in working condition, I would say you were morally and probably legally responsible to put him right. In case he's just "doing it wrong", you may want to meet somewhere and run a few rounds through it to verify whether it's working or not. I would never claim something was sold "as is" unless I explicitly said so and had it written on the receipt. That's just a recipe for bad blood and there's way too many people like their drama in their lives.
