I think I saw one labelled politically when I was looking at custom engravings but I think that's going a bit far.

I think I understand where the confusion arose. You are talking about using the band/balloon with this fake-auto trigger, I am talking about doing something that has ostensibly the same function as this trigger but would still require finger pressure. Amirite?
-
Oh, it may not please many but it sure ain't gonna hurt anyone. I'm not a big fan of "disturbing the peace" myself. Way too vague (though it's not really the same thing as a noise violation). It is what it is though.

Alternatively, don't get too far from service and head back in on a schedule every 4 hours or so.

Looked at one of those but it was for backpacking and it was too big and bulky. Still want one though. Good idea.

That stock definitely looks like it collapsed to me.
-
That would require putting politicians on the front-lines.
-
So it sounds like if one might possibly be considering a supressor at some point in the future, it would be worth getting the paperwork in right away?

Concealed is concealed. Silent is silent. (J/K. Don't do anything illegal and yes, suppressed is not silent.)

Well, having gone, it was actually kind of fun and I'll be going back for the second free class at least. No running round the parking lot (though some warm-up stuff). I think they have a krav-fit class that is presumably more cardio focused so maybe that is what it was. This was wrist breaks, choke hold breaking and straight punches. I do already have a gym membership but I find gym work absolutely tedious. I actually got into running and did 5ks and dropped 30lb a few years back but ultimately it couldn't hold my interest. Something like this may be more my speed with the added benefit that it's likely to encourage gym work to up my fitness level. They have all sorts of package deals but I think for now, I'll probably go for their 5-class-for $100 deal and go once a week and just hit the gym a few times throughout the week.

If he's in a river, he could set up a small paddle-powered generator.

OK. I think I must not be understanding something about how this fancy-pants trigger works. I'll have to play with my lower later and mull it over.

Good point.

Digital Ammo Counter , Really ?
tnguy replied to Fourtyfive's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Ran across these and thought of this thread. Not really digital... http://store.commandarms.com/products/countdown-magazine.html -
Possibly. Slightly different tech but I had satellite internet once upon a time and that absolutely had to have a clear view of the sky. I read stories of people having trees grow up and cause problems or having to cut trees down before they could get it. Then again, that was a geostationary sat and iridium isn't so it's a little easier to get a clear line of site to it. A lot of the issue is you're putting out a tiny amount of power that has to be detected by a tiny slice of the sky.

I guess you could make the selector switch on the flashlight/scope/laser. Now, there's a thought.

Well, the issue is that if you are applying 3lb to the trigger, you need something that will apply more than that in the other direction to reset the trigger and then stop applying that pressure long enough for the trigger to be pulled again. That is basically what this trigger does but it does it inside of the receiver. I'd guess that since it's activated by the action itself in some way, that's why it's a bit sensitive. It doesn't want to be too much higher than the trigger pull weight so if you have a heavy finger, it's not going to reset properly. An external mechanism would possibly not have that restriction, particularly the cam where the force itself wouldn't be as critical as it only has to move your finger the distance to reset the trigger. The problem with a static force such as an elastic band or a balloon is that it doesn't have a cycling mechanism so would still rely on user input.

I don't really see that the responsibility to respect the dead goes beyond treating them with basic dignity. Don't mutilate, don't desecrate, don't put in funny poses and that's about it. Observing the enemy's religious leanings doesn't come into things (and how would you know anyway? "Scuse me Mr Dead-person, did you observe the Muslim faith and, if so, which particular sect?"). Burning in-and-of itself wouldn't count. Taking pictures? Probably in poor taste but forgivable in my book. Roasting marshmallows? Way out of order. I'm with TMF that this is part of the reason you avoid getting into these kind of situations in the first place if you have any sense.

I hereby Christen it the Desperate Ferret. Edit: Curse you, Lester Weevils

I'm guessing you need to make sure you have a clear view of the satellite. That can be less than optimal in mountains and forests.
-
So this is legal because the rule is one shot for every pull of the trigger if I understand correctly? So if one had a glove which pulled your finger forward after every shot...? Or maybe a cam next to the trigger?

Is this the place I'm thinking of going? Please PM me if you'd rather not post in public if it is. Planning on the first class tonight. It's two classes free apparently so won't hurt to go along. Err, I hope :)

The monthly fees are actually a lot more reasonable than I thought. I was expecting 100 and up, not 50ish. Hmm. That's with 15 activation also. Hmm. No, I think I'm misunderstanding. The one I'm staring at is 50 for sim & activation and 34.50/monthP Probably still not so big for emergencies only but if you know you're going to be somewhere without service and you absolutely want to be reachable, not too bad...
