*Shrug* I don't use VPN but I set one up to test something recently and it worked no problem. I know it's not always been straightforward though.

Cops should be regular citizens who just happen to have been given extra authority to enforce the law. If they are part of the community, they are much more effective. It would be nice to move toward the Peelian principles. I don't know how much they ever applied in the US.

Some people have complained of wavy glass (they use their own, not OEM) but I had no issues on my XK8. They had to come twice though. He had the wrong part for the rain sensor. It also took them a while to track down the trim clip kit but a good experience overall.

Apple are currently even worse in my opinion.

And still we get charged for touch-tone functionality. How has that managed to remain a real thing?

Kitchen Sink / Plumbing Question - *Additional Question*

Upgraded ours to one with lever control and a pull-out head (probably an official name for it). Have liked it immensely. You should always be able to use the one remaining clean patch of skin to activate water. If you just mean the style, you're on your own. I presented mine as a fait accompli so no discussion there :) -
Kitchen Sink / Plumbing Question - *Additional Question*

After an unfortunate tenant in our Florida place, we repainted the walls and had the carpet replaced by Lowes. We repainted the walls first, of course. When the carpet guys had finished, we'd gone in and there were scratches all through our wet paint apparently where they'd been careless with their carpet stretching tools. Was not happy. Meant to make a complaint but other things became important. -
Well, that sucks. Sorry for the false alarm, guys. If one were to screen-scrape some sites to get notifications of ammo in-stock, which would be the best ones to go for do you think?

Android/Google is starting to go off the rails in major ways too. I'm actually considering seeing if I can work getting a Ubuntu phone going. It's nowhere near ready for primetime yet but... OTOH, Ubuntu have already tipped their hand a little with the invasive crap.

Grab it quick. Shipping will up the price by about 60% though. http://www.natchezss.com/Ammo.cfm?contentID=productDetail&brand=FA&prodID=FA745&from=AmmoSeek

Kitchen Sink / Plumbing Question - *Additional Question*

Pfft, you can avoid all that work. Just raise your counters the appropriate distance. -
Yup. But it's worth having a look at one of those vote-by-county maps just to see just how small those islands of left-wingers are (NY state is about 50/50/ by area). Though personally, I enjoyed my visit to NYC and it's my opinion that anyone ruling out visiting there is doing themselves no favors. To each his own, though.

You could always try a live CD first if you want to see if you want to go to the (minor) hassle of a full install

An OS should get out of the way. From what I've heard, win8 goes out of its way to get in yours.

I believe win9 is rumored to be in the pipes. I only ever had a brief 5 minute encounter with ME on a used laptop I bought. Unfortunately it did not seem to get on particularly well with a fresh install of '98. Ran Linux like a champ as my router and mail server for a year or two though.

Yep. There was nothing wrong with win2k that a couple of tweaks, some security patches, the latest DirectX and a port to 64 bit couldn't have solved. I wish these guys could succeed. http://www.reactos.org/

JayC, what you say is essentially correct but should the ISP be providing that prioritization? Who is to say which protocol is more important or in need to low latency? Why is Joe's gaming lower priority than Mary's VOIP? I think that an ISP should just provide an internet connection. If there is any prioritization, it should be done at the user's end and not by the ISP (Though at one time, Microsoft famously set the priority on *all* of their packets to high to make their stuff look better performing so likely there would have to be some mitigation against abuse). Of course, there's nothing to say that an ISP couldn't offer differing levels of service including some which include them handling setting the priorities but if there's not at least one straight-up internet connection on the list, something is up.

Unfortunately, I had a couple of semi-forced upgrades but I'd still be on win2k if I could.

If you're a Windows guy, you could consider rolling back to 7. Linux is pretty good with drivers these days though and I found nothing missing in the last few installs I've done.

Well I guess Krogers rule on the side of Greedy!!!!

FWIW, I never carry my Kroger card. You can just type in whatever phone number you signed up with at the card swiper. Alterntively, if you just want the discounts, the checkers usually have a card they'll scan for you. Food Lion here is usually empty. I think it's because it's next to K-mart which is also always empty. I'm surprised K-mart stays in business (There are continued rumors of its demise). I just don't like their selection. -
I hope the money from the parts covered the damage to the truck.

Meh, if they're advertising 100mb/s and unlimited, that's exactly what you should be getting. If they want a "Downloading pics of my grandkids tier", that's what they should call it. That's really not what this is about though. What JayC is talking about is that it sorta makes sense for some types of traffic to receive higher priority. VOIP is sensitive to delays for examply, web traffic less so and email almost not at all. The question is, who decides? Ideally it would be the end-user with the ISP probably doing some network magic to mitigate abuse.

Y'know, with Aldi, some of that stuff is name brands, just not name brands that the US is used to. As to Kroger, it's my favorite out of Walmart, Food Lion, Ceebees and itself out here in Dickson. I wish there was a Publix though. My wife prefers Food Lion but it gives me the heebies.
