  1. I believe the bubble is temporary. Ironically, if the manufacturers felt free to raise their prices to match the increase in demand, it would be more likely they would bring on additional capacity and wouldn't have to worry so much about what happens if demand drops and there's all this excess capacity. The attitude that would cause people to complain about the manufacturers gouging if they raised their prices is what is preventing the manufacturers from stepping-up to the shortage.
  2. I warn you, I'll use the word "pedant" again!
  3. I think if they ever had one of those buy-backs around here, I'd be learning how to make zip-guns.
  4. Our dog won't chase or bring back a ball. Undoubtedly a training issue there.
  5. It's not always about the color. Tigers are orange & black.
  6. Perhaps. But with the people we have in charge, it was the *only* way.
  7. There is or was one off of Hwy 100 I used to go to. I think it's called "the range" or something imaginitive. Real good value. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find it on google.   I think it might have been off 1835. Possibly Marsh Rd but it looks different on Google maps to how I remember it.
  8. What do you consider reasonably priced? Edit: Never mind. Just looked at some MSRPs on those.
  9. Holden is just GMC (Chevrolet) same as Vauxhall in the UK. Though you did miss out on some decent cars like the Cavalier hatchback (The Cavalier in the US is severely downgraded from versions in other parts of the world also). I don't know about Kia but the Hyundai Genesis (R-spec) is certainly interesting. I'm currently holding out for a VW TDI Sportwagen though.
  10. Yep. I kept my AR pistol in a drawer broken into two pieces for a while. I think an interesting idea might be a bridging piece to allow the upper and lower to be connected together the wrong way around. This would allow it to be carried in a bag or pack without rattling around or scraping.
  11. If that's so, I may have to switch over.
  12. FTFY
  13. I had the impression that the channels weren't digital when I checked them out. It was only a quick "try it and see" based on what you had written a few months back so I may have to take another look soon.
  14. Well, before we went for the internet, the line was physically cut off. They installed a whole new batch of cable and termination box for us.
  15. I have just the cable internet and the channels are on the cable, including one 3d channel that I really should check out soon as it's apparently going away (if it hasn't already). Don't use it though as the OTA stuff is HD digital and much better looking. As for antenna, I'm still using the Dish antenna that Dish sent me back when they were having the local channel issues. The dish it's mounted to hasn't picked up anything for about 10 years but the antenna is going strong. I do want to replace it with a decent passive antenna sometime though.
  16. Tried to like that stuff but I consider it undrinkable.
  17. Does it really offer much over a decent generic-use backpack? With the bonus that someone might recognize a backpack specifically designed to carry firearms?
  18. Though interestingly, oil in an air rifle is sometimes used cause it diesels and can cause increased velocity.
  19. They need to cut some/most of the government funding. Colleges know what people can pay and just factor in any government freebies. It's like the digital tuner boxes were $40 higher when there was a government $40 voucher.
  20. We need to stop the obsession with higher education. It's not for everyone, nor should it be. Apprenticeships should make a comeback.
  21.   Yeah, I'm a fan of the asphalt. Most of the roads in the UK are. I don't know if it's true but I've heard that they don't put enough bedding under the roads and that causes the surface to wear more quickly. I think a lot of the road building has the faint whiff of corruption around here (the contractors carve the market up between them I've heard. One-bids are a common occurrence) so that could make sense.
  22. You're correct. I rotated and scaled the pictures and the barrel and slide parts are the same in both pictures. I'm guessing you're correct that this is a 4" rail with a cut-down 6" barrel. I think I'd heard about the milling and convinced myself that that was what had happened in this picture (I've seen it before). If I had access to the right kind of lathe, I'd probably give it a go myself after a bit of practice. But I think I'd rather just pay someone. Though the slide obviously complicates things. There's a video of a guy with a suppressed neos on Youtube. Pretty neat. You can hear the action cycling as the loudest thing. Edit: I think I thought the milling was to shorten the rail but it appears it's just to make the rail clear the suppressor so you have some overhang if you go that way. I guess the other option would be some kind of m/m insert that threads into the barrel and leaves some thread sticking out.
  23. But Percy Priest is pretty small. I might be able to tie a few zombies together to make a raft that'll float long enough to get over...
  24. "I was chasing a butterfly" is an excuse to move out of Memphis.
  25. I understand that the top rail does have to be shortened. There's a company that's supposedly well known for doing it but when I contacted them, they said they don't do the neos (though they do have pictures on their website) I think you can just make out that the rail has been shortened on that bottom one. There is a roll pin in the upper one not present in the one below. Hipower, they are also available in 4 and 6 inch. I have a 6 because it is not intended as a carry piece.
