When transporting a gas grill in your SUV, make sure the gas is off.
bersaguy replied to bubbiesdad's topic in General Chat
I know but my primary issue is if I want to refill my 60 gallon tank it might be out of date and might need to get it tested and re-dated so it can be filled again. So need to know where I can get it tested when I empty it. It has only been filled 1 time when it was new. -
Welcome to TGO and hope we can all learn from each other. You have just become a member of what I consider the best gun site on the WWW with some very outstanding members.........

That was very thoughtfull of you to do that for the students. Believe it or not I had a buddy that had the proper filiments #14 which is same as welding helmets and he had it tested and he actually made some homemade glasses with the lense #14 cover and some PVC pipe he had laying around and made about 10 pairs for his family members. He did it because he didn't trust any of the store bought stuff beause he didn't know what was Chinese bootleg verses the real stuff. Like you he put his nerdy side together and made them. They are not pretty but they are safe and effective and will work for the 2 minutes and 40 seconds it will last at his home weather permitting.....................

Can you tell me where to go to get it tested? I know a few companies that fill bottles but don't know if any of them will test the tanks? I know TSC won't, they just turn the tank down. I do have an Ameri-gas location not to far from me and have had tanks filled there a few times but the tanks all passed date test. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bersa -
There are some states that have laws that make zero sense but they use them for their own control of people living in that state and then there are states that have laws to protect the people that live in said state from stuff just like this. I'm glad I live in this one and none of those listen in that report..................JMHO

Yea, I know Sam. It is things like this that make my doctor so mad. It makes her so mad that they allow Pharmacudical(spelling) companies to advertise at all on Television. She said the FDA and FCC is doing nothng more than allowing the companies to practice medicine without a license. She went through 12 years of schooling and student loans to earn the priviledge to practice medicine and it is free to them. She has lost quite a few patients over the years because if a patient comes in her office and requests a prescription for anyhting they saw on TV she will tell them that she does not prescibe that particular medication and they get mad and leave. She will prescribe some of them but not if the patient asks for it right from the get go without tests first.

Well, I went up to Walgreens today and told them that they need to put it back in their inventory. I was not going on any medication that (MY ) doctor has not ran tests on first and then handed me a written prescription for me to bring to you. The Pharmacist seemed a little pi$$ed. I guess she felt I did not trust her and she guessed correctly if that is what she thought. I have been doing business with them since I moved here almost 19 years ago but there is a CVS right across the street that I'm sure would love to have my business. I go see my doctor next month and we will get this all straightened out then..............

The Insurance company didn't call my doctor. Walgreens did after the insurance called them and told them I should be on a statin drug and even recomended which one. Sounds to me like someone is getting a kickback from a drug company. I am going to pick them up to keep Walgreens and the insurance company happy but not going to take them until I speak face to face with my doctor next month. I know she is going to order bllod tests first before I start anything.

Yea, I know about the expiration date learned it the hard way. I was getting ready to become somewhat of a prepper special ordered a brand new 60 Gallon Propane tank from Amazon and took it up to TSC and got it filled and put it back in corner for emergencies. Bought a heater to fit on it also. Well that was about 10 years ago and it is still full and never used but I found out when I do use it I cannot get it refilled. The tank was made in January of 02 so it is out of date by almost 7 years cause it says must be filled within 10 years of manufacture date. Even though it has only been filled 1 time it will be junk when I empty it. The heater also fits the grill tanks and I have 5 of those and when I put the last one on the grill I go get 4 more replacements so I never run out of Propane. You are correct about getting them refilled being cheaper but about 5 times a year Academy will put them on special for $12.95 and when they do I will take what empties I have and get new ones. If I begin to get low I will call them and ask when they will be having another special exchange I also have about 25 of the 2 lb bottles for my lanterns and camper cook stove in case something serious causes power outage. Every time I catch them on sale I will by a few more. I also bought all the camping stuff needed to cook with especially a coffee pot. Just for giggles I made a few pots of coffee in it to kind of season it and I was impressed about how good the coffee was from the pot..........LOL -
I have a question regarding Presription Insurance company. My insurance company call my Pharmacy last Thursday and told them I needed to be put on a colesterol medication. Walgreens in turn filled a prescription for Lovastatin and notified me that is was filled and ready for pick up. I called them and told them that my doctor had not ordered a Colesterol Medication for me and they told me my insurance company did. I told them to just put it back on the shelf cause I would not be picking it up until I saw my doctor and had her run tests to see if I needed it. Walgreens took it upon themselves to call my doctor and ask them if I should be put on it. I am sure they did not talk to my doctor but probably one of her nurses because they got an approval to do it. I know my doctor as she has been my doctor 20 + years and she never does anything like this with out doing all the blood work first and non was ordered. My question is has anyone else ever experienced anything like this between their insurance company and their pharmacy and by passing the doctor?

I cook quite often on my gas grill and everytime I finish cooking I turn my gas off on the bottle and let it shut the burners down and then I turn them off. That way I know it is off. As far as getting tanks filled I don't take them to be filled. I go to Academy Sports and just exchange them for ones in the rack. That way you know your getting ones that don't leak and they have been in the rack for X amount of days and still full. I have found that in most cases Academy is normally cheaper than Walmart. When I exchange bottles I do 3 at a time. -
I have been saying all along that Tennessee will most likely be cloudy and raining during it but that still won't stop the 100's of thousands of people from flocking here just to be dissappointed and probably blame Tennessee because Mother Nature rained on their parade.......JMHO

If it were not for the fact that there is hunting seasons no one would be able to have a garden and farmers would not be able to grow crops for livestock of humans. I know back until Illinois extended their deer hunting and enlarged the quota's or bag limits the farmers in the lower half of the state were losing up to 25% of their crops to deer. Farmers look forward to allowing hunters to come and hunt there farms in southern Illinois. The deer population in Tennessee has gotten a lot bigger over last 10 years due to the fact there are not as many hunters as there was say 15 years ago. I know ne of the reasons is finding farmers that will allow hunters on their property or farmers want to charge hunters to lease their land to hunt and that is one of the reasons there are less hunters. If the deer herds continue to grow in Tennessee pretty soon the farmers will be payng the hunters to come and help control the deer on their property or they will begin losing crops.................jmho

In all reality it did give some valuable information for sure. The KIA is one tough little SUV and tells the terrorists it would not be a good choice vehicle to make a car bomb out of..............JMHO -
Back when I was just a kid of age 13 and gun laws were no where near what they are today I bought a Colt 22 cal single action 6. Blue with 5 inch barrel and bone handles and paid $39.00 for it and bought and fast draw cowboy type holster out fit for it with leg tie down and all. My hunting buddy bought a Ruger single 6 with a 7.5 inch barrel and also the holster sit up and we practiced shootng them till we were god enough to wear them for hunting rabbits with them. We also carried shotguns and had beagles to hunt with. If we got a rabbit sitting tight one of us that had the best shot would use to pistol to shoot and save digging out all the lead shot before cooking them. On most days we would get at least 3 or 4 with the pistols. I had the gun till I went in service and when I came home my baby brother had laid claim to it so I let him have it. I also had a Heritage Rough Rider with interchangable cylinders and could shoot 22 lr or 22 Mags. Son in law was having varmint issues with his chicken house and he has it and has been using it for about 5 years now so I guess he has claimed it as his own. One of these days I will give him a bill for it..............LMAO

I don't know about getting their locations wrecked but you can bet there will probably be a few lawsuits over it and a lot of people that will be really pi$$ed off. I have always been told that "Good News travels fast but bad news travels at light speed!" If they make enough folks mad the new companies that did not honor those reservations will have their name scattered all over Face Book, Tweeter and all of the other gossip sites on the web!!! It will wind up biting them in the a$$ before it's all over and I say rightfully deserved.............JMHO

That had to be the best car chase ever. I know most folks like Steve McQueen in Bullet and it was a great chase! Another chase that you don't hear folks speak of was in the movie Vanishing Point.................JMHO

I can't believe that no one has mentioned Printers Alley which is all clubs and bars and many of the older Country stars owned clubs in the alley. It has been around since the mid 40's!!! Those clubs were open for business long before lower Broadway became a Honky Tonk Strip...................

Whether they hit Seoul or not Trump will still make a big sand box out of NK if they fire anything at any other nation period if they are one of our allies. I don't think Trump will use Nukes to do it but just very very big conventional weapons attack and it will continue raining down on them until they quit shooting back. If Trump does not use Nukes I don't think Russia or China will get involved because in all honesty I think both countries would like to see them gone. I don't think China will enjoy having to feed anyone that is still alive when it's over though.......JMHO

Gosh!!!! It's been a long time since I saw an original 1939 Ford Coupe that was not all chopped up and made into a Hot Rod!!!!!!! A lot of folks had trouble telling them from the 1939 and 1940 Willy's Coupes. I owned a 1939 Ford Coupe for a short time back when I was a kid. Had a 1953 Mercury Flat head 8 Motor, 3 deuces and 3/4 cam and it was fast till I took it off road one night and rolled it about 5 times.

Yea, I think you are both correct + I think when China told him if he struck first he was on his own and I think Russia may have told him that also it took alot of fight out of him along with the fact I would guess many of his leaders that served his father have probably been telling him it's a bad idea to keep provoking a MAD MAN which is what I'm sure they have Labeled President Trump over there by now..................JMHO
