  1. I went out of my way one day only because I seem to have a lot of time these days and if I found an officer parked someplace I would make it a point to ask them a few questions but first asking if they minded answering them. I had three questions I asked each officers. 4 local Gallatin City police officers, 3 Sumner County Sheriffs Deputies and 2 Troopers. First question was how he/she felt about armed legal carry citizens and I told them I was one. the response was very similar with all the city officers. It was pretty much of  " As long as you follow the laws and spend the time necessary to know your weapons capabilities they did not have an issue with them but they also did prefer concealed carry over open carry.       I thought that was a little odd so I added a question as the Why they Preferred CC above OC and they said they don't really want to know just how many people are armed because they already know it's a lot. My 2nd question was during a routine traffic stop when a Legal carry person is stopped do you prefer the driver want you to provide DL and CP? They said pretty much said your license will inform them if you have a HCP but they want DL and POI (proof of Insurance) mostly. Now when it came to County Deputy's They were all pretty much the same.     All of them said they had respect for people that went through the process of obtaining the HCP reason being that County Deputy's are stretched out and they cannot be every place in a minute of two and that could mean the difference between life and death and they are glad that more and more people have a chance of defending themselves until we can get there. Now the Troopers all had a little attitude but I guess that comes with the title "Trooper"  They are not all that great of fans on the issue of HCP's but none of them would admit to anything negative about them. I did ask them if they preferred getting the CP and DL to alert them to the fact I am armed. The reply was before we ever approach your vehicle they are aware of the fact the vehicle is registered to an HCP person.     The whole issue with them comes into play when they have to approach the vehicle knowing  there may be an armed person in the vehicle and that is why they will stand back just a little behind the window in most cases and ask for license, Registration and POI. If the DL matches the owner they know a firearm is a possibility. At that point they may ask you to step out of the vehicle and take you to a safe spot to discuss why you were stopped and whether you will be ticketed or not and they watch your body actions. They can tell by your reaction if it could escalate. I have never had any of them ask me if I was locked and loaded at the time. All in all I learned a little about how some of them think anyway..............jmho
  2. you can with a Joe Biden Double barrel.................jmho
  3. Ok !!!!! I am blaming everyone of ya'll for the fact I ate entirely to much and I am here at the computer to keep from getting into my big plush recliner and just going to sleep. I think it might have been that 3rd piece of Homemade Cheese cake that did me in...................
  4. i have seen some of best parents in the world raise some of the meanest most dangerous sons and a few daughters that ever walked the earth and everyone that knew the parents could not explain why the children turned out so evil. Doctors and scientists have all said that it is a genetic issue they call a bad seed. It comes from someone in the family and is not able to be detected till they see how the children grow up. In Michael Brown's situation the evidence is in the pudding and the pudding is still showing their a$$es in Ferguson, Missouri and even were balling and crying to the UN.  I really believe that was an Obama Plan because the UN is getting in December to act on their Small Arms Treaty on December 24th and I have no doubt Obama's organization arranged all of that deal to get their deposition read in front of the UN. I'm sure Michael Browns parents could not have got that done on their own....................jmho
  5.   It is funny how that works isn't it? If a big shot gets his butt in a situation and maybe a life threatening one the police is who they call for help. It is those same POS big shots that are the first to criticize those same police officers for doing their job. All I can say is police officers are all in a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation every time they make a move. Sorry bad guys but I choose the police officers as the ones I trust at the end of any day. ............jmho
  6. I can say this with a clear mind. I have never carried a self defense firearm without a hot tube, full magazine with back up magazines on my person neither in the military or in civilian life and never will. If I ever have to defend myself I will be sending hot lead at my target, center mass if at all possible. I promise I will not be shooting at arms and legs unless that is all I can see of my target...........jmho
  7. You can't fix Stupid!!!!!
  8.   Wat I find to be the most unfortunate is even though these men were carried through college and given the opportunity to play Pro Football with multi million dollar contracts and when their careers are over so many of them are as broke as the day they left college. Then their are some that throw their careers away while still playing because they think because of who they are they are above the law. It's just a shame..................jmho
  9. Roast Bad guy for Thanksgiving  huh?.......................................
  10. Has anyone looked at the diagrams done by the Coroner on Michael Brown? All I can say is officer Wilson did a very good job of hitting Brown in his raised right arm. In the drawing it shows 4 hits in his right arm 1 in his right lower neck, 1 in his right eye and on in the top of his head. The report said Brown was hit 6 times but the drawing from the coroner showed 7 hits but that was the coroner brought in by the Brown lawyer from New York also. But only three bullets were found in the body at that point also. Below is a link to the pictures.    I guess a 40-caliber Sig Sauer was not enough gun to drop the big man with just a few bullets.     http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/18/us/michael-brown-autopsy-shows-he-was-shot-at-least-6-times.html
  11. Yea, nothing in Gallatin either but Nashville is close enough that folks from here probably drove down there.......................
  12. Believe me when I say criminals are getting much more bolder than they use to be and will try to commit crimes in broad daylight with all kinds of witnesses around. I do my best to always be aware of my surroundings but even at that these is still an outside chance of an attack. Glad to girl survived physically but her mental state is another story...............jmho
  13. People in Nashville had their protest which began as a candlelight vigil and ended up being a protest yet was entirely peaceful. I don't know what the interstate was necessary about the fact they all laid down for 4.5 minutes to represent that fact that Browns body laid in the street 4.5 hours. I really don't believe Brown care how long he was there but evidently some folks did. As far as I can tell there were protests all across America and virtually kinda makes Michael Brown some kind of celebrity. I didn't march in Nashville last night and don't think I missed any opportunity to prove anything. Did any TGO members march?................just being nosy............ In all honesty I think the police of Nashville handled to extra bonus marches and other stuff not planned quit well and showed great restrain and are to be commended....................jmho
  14. There was a home invasion today in Sumner County but they did not tall where exactly. I don't go to my mail box out by the road without a gun. I have heard of people being robbed while out cutting their grass or walking the dog or just relaxing in lawn chairs in what you would think is the safety of your own patio so now when I wake up , put my clothes on part of my clothing has become one of my hand guns. You are not even safe in your own home. That invasion today the news said the people where home and hid till the bad guys left.     Evidently the house was a gun free zone. I wonder how much longer it will remain one if in fact there was not any in the house today. Two guys and a woman were involved in the invasion and are on the run...............jmho
  15.     minus a few of you nutbags! ;-)       I resemble that remark............................... :bowrofl: :bowrofl:
  16. I use to be a U-Haul dealer and if your coming from Atlanta to  Smyrna the one way will be much cheaper. Any time you are renting one way coming to the middle of the country the rentals are cheaper. Reason being that the dealer that will be receiving the truck can send it in many different directions on next rental. If you were renting a truck going to Atlanta it would be higher. I would rent it one way from Atlanta to Smyrna and by all means request a diesel if one is available at the dealer there. If not contact the dealer and ask if one can be brought from another dealer/ They most times will have one brought there for you if you reserve it........Hope this helps.
  17. :panic: Gosh not very many folks in the Holiday spirit.....................
  18. I enjoyed Gun Smoke all my life from Childhood to Adult hood and I would be afraid to see what the cost would be to get the entire series on DVD. It was one of the longest if not the longest running show on Television........................
  19. Every bank teller transaction has a time and date on it so they can probably tell you who hit you or at least tell authorities who she is.  Don't let her have time to fix any damage to her car and you can bet at least ten cameras got it on Video.............jmho
  20. With all of the HCP people in the Country he is lucky he is still breathing or not in danger of dying from lead poisoning. I am like Indiana Jones but difference is I'm just to old to fight a guy with a big knife. I would just shoot him till he dropped the knife or dropped himself............jmho
  21. Michael Browns mother charged but news won't run it.................            http://www.legalinsurrection.com/2014/11/report-mike-browns-mother-facing-potential-robbery-charges-in-ferguson/

    Store to avoid

I pretty basically only have two gun stores I deal with and that is Sumner Gun and Supply or Ashbrauners Pawn shop. I have won a few bids on guns from Gun Brokers and all of them were prior to my joining TGO so I used Ashbrauners as my FFL. Now if I need an FFL in my future I will use Sumner. I asked Ashbrauners to get on the list for Gun Brokers but this refused. I have no clue why but that is their business.   Now with that said I sold a gun on Gun Brokers some years back and  the gun was only up about 3 hours before it was sold on a Buy Now purchase which was quite surprise because the buy now was relatively higher than what i really wanted for the gun. Only thing I can figure is the gun really wanted that particular firearm bad. That was my first experience at shipping a gun also and I learned a lot with that experience also.   I received the Cashiers Check in 3 days and i packed the gun up to ship. Spent over an hour making sure it was all packed tight so it would not rattle or damage anything. I shipped it UPS( Brown truck) Had a store a mile from the house so went up there. They informed me they could not ship firearms and I need to take it to Brick Church Pike hub to ship it. Off to Brick Church pike I go. Stand in line about 40 minutes only to be told when it came my turn that they could not ship firearms and I needed to take it to the Main hub on Elmhill Pike. an hour later I arrive at the hub on Elm Hill Pike. The guy was relatively nice that waited on me and he began to unwrap the package. I told him I spent a lot of time packing that so it would not be damaged in shipping. He said he needed to inspect it to make sure there was no ammo in the package with the weapon.   I watch him as he repacked the firearm and all accessories which he dd a better job than I did and I handed him the FFL it was going to. He put all the labels on it and gave me all the paperwork after putting it in the shipping area. Got a delivery confirmation 3 days later that the FFL dealer had signed for it. Got an email from the guy the next day telling me how thrilled with the gun. He said the pictures did not do the gun justice because it was a lot nice than he expected. He was happy, I was thrilled but I did learn a lot on my first sale on Gun Brokers and I have decided there will be no more Auction sales for me. If I cannot sell local I won't sell...............jmho
  25. I hope you get your stuff back. Unless the guy plans on learning how to play it the guy is probably a junkie and it will turn up in a pawn shop shortly. Thing is if you go in an ask if what was taken from you was pawned depending on how much they loaned on it and how honest the pawn shop is will depend on if you ever get it back. If you alert the pawn shop that they purchased stolen property when the time is up on it and should be put out for sale. On the other hand if the pawn shop is a really honest one they will tell you yes they have it and you can let the police know and they may get it back for you and the information on the thief. I hope you get it back..............
