  1. I was a volunteer fireman for about 7 years and during that time I learned just how stupid people can be about moving over or yielding to emergency vehicles which meant most people were brain dead to there presence and almost ignored them. I did have a few fender benders along the way as I did hit a few cars that did not yield to me at intersections and in every case they got the ticket for fail to yield to an emergency vehicle. I hope the Grand mother and little girl have a full recovery. As for the driver of the car. I think jail time and loss of drivers license for life would be a fitting punishment. If she cannot see a big yellow bus with all kinds of flashing warning lights on it and stop sign out she is to dense to have a license. That is one thing I can say about this area I live in. They make sure there are crossing guards at all school cross walks and when school is letting out you will find a squad car at almost every if not every school zone and if your speeding or fail to yield to the crossing guards signals you can expect a big fat ticket or maybe two. They don't mess around here when it comes to school zones and school children. I can remember when it was like that in every school zone but a lo of budgets don't allow that kind of protection for our children any longer is all I hear from some school districts.............jmho
  2. Very moving story and I am quite sure the boy did it not for the news coverage but for the uniform and his father. That particular news organization sends that particular man out to seek out human interest stories of people doing good things for other people and that is all he reports on. I am quite sure no one from his family contacted the news and that is was the Colonel that did the contacting................jmho
  3. I don't think by looking at his picture on the news that he would be smart enough to make that kind of move. He has a severe issue with women in general. He even shot his own mother in the knee with a 9 MM hand gun and threatened to kill another girl with a hand gun. The guy is not wound tight enough to pull off a negotiation on the death penalty deal in trade for her body but I could be totally off base...............jmho
  4. Is the form you filled out at DMV the same one they send you to mail in? If so I can just take the form I have filled out with me to DMV and give them the check.
  5. I guess I will mail it in. Mine is good for 3 more months so I should not have a problem getting it back before mine expires. I will just date it as it is all I have left to do on the form and put a check in there.  I will go drop it off at post office tomorrow and pray they get it. Postal service has not been to good recently.............jmho
  6. yea, I have already looked it over and it has changed a lot since the first time I applied. A lot more questions pertaining to mental capacity. I guess they are wanting to see if I am crazy or not. Not really any trick questions but need to read each one very carefully. Do you have to fill out this same form at the Drivers License center, I wonder. If so I will just fill this one out and take it with me.
  7. I just received my renewal for my HCP and it says I can renew by mail or go to the nearest Drivers license Center and renew it. I would like to hear opinions on which way folks have renewed theirs and which way they find to be the easiest. I have a Drivers License Testing Center  3 miles from my house that during the week is fairly slow traffic wise. It is my first renewal process so opinions would be nice to have. Thanks in advance.
  8. This argument has been going on now for about 10 years. It began when it was on California property. After years of fighting over it California made the Federal Government a deal to lease the land because the Monument was considered a War Memorial from Korean War so the Federal Government agreed to it and leased the property. Once the Federal Government took possession of the said property the people fighting to get the monument removed had to begin the case all over again and fight it at the Federal level. I have been kind of keeping up with it but it comes and goes and you don't hear anything for sometime and then it pops up here and there again.......................jmho   Personally my feelings are they need to leave it alone as is represents to heroes and fallen of the Korean War. They at times have even demanded that all of the crosses that mark the graves in all of our military cemeteries removed and they didn't get anywhere with that either to date.
  9. My :2cents: is people are watching this a lot more than some people may think. The sticker shock they found once they were actually able to get the site up enough that people could actually get quotes has got lots and lots of people watching it. I just hope that the ones really watching it learn by their mistakes made in the past and don't repeat them again. I think when folks try and go back and get their old policies and learn they cannot get them back it is going to get really crazy. The President says one thing and the insurance companies are saying another and the Insurance companies are on the winning end because they cannot be forced to write the old policies just because the guy in the oval office says they can. People are going to learn that really fast.................jmho

  11. I say let Russia have the Ukraine and let them take on the added cost of keeping the country up. The old USSR went broke trying to support both their military, their space race and trying to keep all the satellite countries they conquered fed and under control. Let them do it again. As long as they stay out of America's business and out of our country let them have all of Asia. We have proven we don't need imported oil or natural gas for our country to operate just fine. We don't need any products made in Russia and for that fact China either. We can bring our industries back on line right here in America and begin putting Americans back to work. First thing we do is get rid of the EPA and all their stupid regulations. Bring NASA back on line, quit wasting billions of dollars exploring Mars and start putting that money back into the economy right here. We can jump start it in the mid-terms by putting the right people in the Senate and House and taking away the Pen and Phone power from the Oval office and Lame Duck the Prez his last two years....................jmho
  12. Well after listening to all the BS from the politicians they didn't change this brave mans mind and he stood his ground as any true American should and I commend him for his actions and his voice. You can bet many politicians are worried right now in CT if they stood in support of the unconstitutional laws they passed in CT because they can almost be guaranteed they will be packing after the next election. They have made their beds and I hope they all are laying in the after the elections. The People in Colorado made their feeling quit clear when they wrote unconstitutional laws there. The had a re call and got those politicians removed and the laws changed. I have noticed that many politicians are doing their damn-est to avoid and dodge any 2nd Amendment discussions as they begin to get ready to run for November midterms. I think their constituents should hammer them on these issues until they either have to answer the questions or drop out. I also think they should be told if they say one thing and do another after elected that they will be recalled. It's time the people took back this country from the liberal maniacs that have no business holding a job beyond garbage collector and I was going to say Dog catcher but don't want to insult that public position. I am sorry I used garbage collector because really I have more respect for them also but needed something to compare them to...........................
  13. I don't think your going to find a brick and mortar chain store anywhere that sells ammo that games like these are not going on. Management doesn't care as long as it does not effect their bottom line and as long as the ammo is sold at the store price to the scalpers and rung up on the registers they could care less who gets the ammo and who gets mad................jmho
  14. My father never changed his watch. He was always on DST and when someone would ask him what time it was he would say,  Your time or mine?' and they would say mine and he would subtract an hour and tell them. Then when Spring rolled around he was with everyone else when they moved their clocks forward. He said he never saw no damn sense it all that stuff. Oh yea, he was a farmer................
  15. Gosh that is gonna make me run right out and buy a 40 cause I might need to kill an engine block................ :ugh: :ugh:
  16.   So according to what you posted they want folks to send them $1000.00 bucks on a promise that they will build you a product that at the present time does not exist, has no plant in which to make the product, has no employees to work in a plant they don't have and they have pushed production back to 2015?  Well then I have some Ocean front property about 50 miles due south of Nashville for sale at $1000.00 an acre................
  17.   I can't agree with your last statement in this post. When they elected these people they probably had no clue what their true views were regarding the 2nd Amendment was and they surely were not expecting a Sandy Hook Situation when they voted. I think they just need to begin filing lawsuits against the law makers to either force a recall or take their cases in a class action to the Federal courts to try and have the laws removed as being unconstitutional. ........................jmho
  18. I can understand them getting by with it in California. Those folks out there have an issue with authority. They are scared to death of it so they just comply. I don't think the folks up in CT will be as quick to surrender and throw up a white flag...............jmho.
  19. I got a buddy that rides his Harley a lot and his is 2 wheels and he can't get 84 MPG or near it. He said he can get 50 + a few if he is just riding normal speed and doing speed limits and buys pure gas and not the ethanol fuels. He rides an Anniversary Edition Bike.
  20. I sure would not want to be in one of those when a drunk runs a stop light and just drives over me with his lifted pickup truck with monster mudders on it. On second thought I would not want to be in one if a VW beetle hit me. Looks like 3 wheel death trap.I use to have a picture on my computer of a smart car that was rear ended by an 18 wheeler and pushed it into the rear end of another 18 wheeler and I think the car was measure before they pulled the rigs apart and it was about 3.7 feet with 2 people in the smart car............ Things like those are just death traps with wheels................jmho
  21. Looks like she is coming along just fine Tanker. I have noticed the same issue out of the last couple boxes of Federal 22lr's. I won't be buying any more for a while.
  22. I thought we needed a little humor since everything I have been reading recently has been so serious that folks needed a laugh..............
  23. I don't now what more anyone could expect out of a community organizer than what we are getting. If you look at the shape Chicago is in I don't think he could have been much of a community Organizer either unless he was organizing the gangs...............jmho
  24. A man boarded an airplane and took his seat. As he settled in, he glanced up and saw the most beautiful woman boarding the plane. He soon realized she was heading straight towards his seat. As fate would have it, she took the seat right beside his. Eager to strike up a conversation he blurted out, "Business trip or pleasure?" She turned, smiled and said, "Business. I'm going to the Annual Nymphomaniacs of America Convention in Boston " He swallowed hard. Here was the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen sitting next to him, and she was going to a meeting of nymphomaniacs. Struggling to maintain his composure, he calmly asked, "What's your business role at this convention?" "Lecturer," she responded. "I use information that I have learned from my personal experiences to debunk some of the popular myths about sexuality." "Really?" he said. "And what kind of myths are there?" "Well," she explained, "one popular myth is that African-American men are the most well-endowed of all men, when in fact it is the Native American Indian who is most likely to possess that trait. Another popular myth is that Frenchmen are the best lovers, when actually it is men of Jewish descent who are the best. I have also discovered that the lover with absolutely the best stamina is the Southern Redneck." Suddenly the woman became a little uncomfortable and blushed. "I'm sorry," she said, "I shouldn't really be discussing all of this with you. I don't even know your name." "Tonto," the man said, " Tonto Goldstein , but my friends call me Bubba."
  25. I say we stay out of it all together. Americans are getting real tired of being the earths police force while folks right here at home suffer. All those people over there are never happy and never will be. They are always complaining about something and having riots in the street so some part of that area. Had we kept our nose out of the invasion of Afghanistan back when the Russians invaded it we would not have been forced to go there and very possibly 9/11/2001 may not have happened. Our Presidents have always had a bad habit of sticking their noses in other peoples affairs when they needed to keep their mouths shut and troops home. We experienced a Civil War and I didn't see any other foreign countries coming over here to get involved. I don't think we need to get involved in their civil wars. Let them settle theirs just like we did ours. If Russia wants to invade the Ukraine let them have it.....................jmho
