  1. As I get older I have found with most things in life it does not pay to be in a hurry. I have found psa to be reliable and for the most part my orders have shipped in a reasonable time.
  2. DSG arms has good deals on Magpul furniture kits; https://dsgarms.com/mgmoekit4   Green Mountain has some good barrel deals; http://www.gmriflebarrel.com/ar-15-m16-m4-rifle-barrels/   I have bought from both of these places and I highly recommend them.
  3. I'd say custom 1911 fits the bill.
  4. I think some people up the road from me stole your idea.
  5. The 5906 is tough as a pine knot and can be used as a club if you run out of ammo. I have become fond of carrying the 5906 instead of it just being a "truck gun". When I go on service calls for work I have been carrying it. instead of my USP40. It's a little smaller and I don't have to worry about it as much. I am thinking about some night sights and a different grip.   It's the only 9mm I currently own so I could not comment on much else. I do have a Glock 27 with a Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel but I did not really count that. I like my Glocks but they are all .40. The 27 with the 9mm barrel is sweet but I'm not sure I would carry it with the conversion barrel.   Quantum Leap was an ok show but I did not watch it much. The guy from that show is on the new NCIS New Orleans.
  6. "I bought this thing in 1983. I was living outside of Kansas City, MO at the time. I lived in a barn loft"   You're name's not Dalton is it? Maybe I've watched Roadhouse too many times.   I think Stihl makes some good equipment but I currently have a Husquvarna 350 that I bought in '95, runs and cuts like a champ.
  7. I agree with you it should be something meaningful and only the individual person can know what that is for themselves.   I'm not sure how old you are RC3, but I just look back at what was meaningful to me 25 years ago and I'm not that sure it would be something I would want a permanent reminder of on my body. I'm in a different place in my life now and there are a few things from years ago that I am glad I can leave there and not carry with me everyday. Over time priorities change and I guess it would be hard for me to make such a permanent decision.   I have nothing against them in general but it's probably just not for me.  Just my 2 cents.
  8. I don't have any tats and have nothing against those that do. I see some that look ok.   I would have a hard time spending $500 on something I could not trade in or sell later when I got tired of it or changed my mind. Most $500 guns will hold there value or may even gain in value over the years. The tat is there forever and the money is gone forever. Just my 2 cents.
  9. I have 10- 20 round & 10- 30 round ones and I have never had any issues.
  10. TrickyNicky is a computer genius! The cookies did it.
  11. It's doing the same thing tonight. I've never had this happen before. Could it be something in my browser blocking the chat? I use google chrome.
  12. On or off book doesn't matter one bit to me. Call your local leo or gun dealer and have them run the serial # if you are in doubt. I would not want anything in my possession that could be stolen whether carrying it or not it will be just as bad if you use it as a home self defense gun if it comes back stolen. Most of the used guns I have bought I personally know the previous owner and when and where they bought the gun new. Some even had the receipt in the box when I traded with them. If I own it I carry it. Just my 2 cents.
  13. I had something like this happen but it was the opposite scenario. I was in a line of traffic at a red light and when the light changed the car in front of me did not go. I noticed it seemed like they were having car trouble so I got out and started walking up to see if they needed help but then they got it started and went on. I continue on the same road and they are way in front of me and I then turn left into Captain D's to meet a friend and his wife and they proceed on a ways down the road and turn right into Shoneys. I go inside and see that my friend and his wife already have their food and are seated but i'm at the counter waiting for my food and that's when it gets interesting. The people from the car, man and woman with 2 small children, had turned around and came back and were now behind me in line at the Capt D's counter and they are belligerent. They say I pulled up too close to their car at the light and what was i doing walking up toward them and so on. I try to explain i thought they were having car trouble and i was trying to help them. They then say we can't all drive brand new vehicles like you and that I endangered their children, who by the way were not in car seats or seat belts and were climbing around in the back hatch area of the small car. Keep in mind at the time I'm driving an '86 GMC Suburban 6.2 Diesel 2 wheel drive, and the incident occurred in 2003 so it's around 17 years old but it was well maintained and clean so it looked ok but not "new" by any means. It was then that I realized these people are crazy. The woman was doing most of the talking and the man just stood their like an idiot with the kids. I tried to ignore them but they just kept on and on and kept getting louder. Next they tell me i need to leave. I told them I have already ordered and was meeting someone here I am not leaving and if they don't like it they should leave since they have not ordered yet or they should stay if they can calm down and be quiet. I think I did also tell them they should buckle up the kids if they are so safety minded and I asked why they turned around and came here anyway. By this time everyone in the whole place is watching including the management. The crazy people finally left and I got my food and sat down with my friend and his wife. We then had a good laugh.
  14.  [quote name="Garufa" post="1182369" timestamp="1408754917"] What if someone's crazy uncle gave a pistol to some cousin in Mississippi in 1962 and said cousin then sold it to a friend back in Tennessee a few years later then friend's sole heir who lived in Alabama took it home then sold it at a gun show, online or to another friend?   Just want to make sure you guys cover all the bases. Do you have documentation on the mental issues of the uncle? Edit: I don't know what's up with my computer tonight. Chat was acting up and look at the quote above.
  15. No big deal. It may just be something on my end. I hadn't been on the chat in a while and thought I'd try it out tonight. One other thing I have noticed is there is no small red # along the top menus showing how many are in chat like usual. I'm calling it a night.
  16. I just see the list of everyone in the chat over to the right but nothing in the large box except saying it's loading the chat room... The boxes are lined up along the bottom. It's weird.
  17. Could you read when I was typing "is anybody in there?" I'm also getting a box that say this; "You cannot kick, ban or chat with yourself"
  18. I can't seem to get the chat room to load tonight and a bunch of small boxes keep coming up that say "ignore private chat" with a red x in them. If i leave chat and then come back it adds another one of those boxes. I've never had this happen before. I can see everyone that is in chat listed on the right, including myself but it just keeps saying it's loading. Probably something I'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
  19. I have the .40 one that takes Glock mags to go with my Glock 22, 23, 27 family. I have owned it since 2008 and it has never let me down. I would just keep an eye out for one at a decent price and then snag it. I have always had very good luck with KT. They are a working man's gun, no safe queens for sure.
  20. I live out in the country on a dead end road and my driveway is a 1/4 mile long so I don't see this scenario happening where I live but you never know. Most of my neighbors own firearms and know how to use them. We could easily block the road at a few choke points along the way and it would be very hard to get through even on foot due to the surrounding terrain. Steep hills, downed trees, etc. Probably do what we normally do around the house when not working. Make some coffee, cut firewood, target practice outside off the deck, clean the guns, lather, rinse, repeat. Just another day. I voted for option 1 and 4.
