  1. Mid Life Crisis - Does it come in red?
  2. One stop shopping I know, there is no gun in the picture but I liked the picture.
  3. I keep going back and forth. Is my front deck and 97.7% good enough or do I want to go fight the traffic and find a place in the 100% band. Will probably decide on Monday morning.
  4. Another caption needed. First thought was the family of the bride.
  5. Morticia doing a Bonnie pose.
  6. Since I live in the Lost State of Franklin, I have read a lot about it and I think they just wanted to form the 14th state. I don't think it was a urban/rural problem back then. Does sound familiar though.
  7. I had to do a bit of research on this one. Apparently just before Pearl Harbor there was a movement to create a 49th state out of the very North peice of California and the south edge of Oregon. From a web site "A ‘Citizen’s Committee’, armed with hunting rifles, occupied a stretch of U.S. Route 99, handing out pamphlets proclaiming Jefferson’s ‘independence’. The mainly good-natured incident – the rebels promised to “secede every Thursday until further notice” – was recorded by the main newsreel companies. But the light-hearted item lingered long enough in transit and in cutting rooms to be pushed off the news agenda by Pearl Harbor." The reason for the state was they thought the urban areas had too much say in Washington. A new movement started a few years ago to try again for the same reasons. This link tells both stories. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jefferson_(proposed_Pacific_state)
  8. As I understand it, and my imaging/optics theory is a bit foggy, you can look at the full eclipse when the moon fully blocks the sun. The problem is your eye dilates as it gets darker but the bad stuff from the sun (UV) is still strong enough to cause damage to your eye, especially when dilated. You don't stare at the sun normally for very long because it is so bright and you eye is fully constricted when you do.
  9. I picked up a Gen3 Glock 26 at the Kingsport gun show Saturday. Been going back and forth if I wanted a 26 or a 43. New in the box priced right made up my mind.
  10. I know there has to be a good caption for this.
  11. I had an independent agent before I moved to TN, for 46 years. He handled multiple companies and every so often he would tell me he was shifting my insurance to a different company to save me some money. He also wrote some short term policies when I needed them for a few days to a week to move a car and always said to let him know if I had a claim by a certain day. If I didn't need the insurance he would rip up the paperwork without filing so there was no charge. He showed me my file when I stopped in to see him one last time, it was about 6 inches thick. In 46 years I only had his Dad and him as agents, my new company changed agents on me 3 times the first year. My first choice when we moved was to find another independent because of their flexibility. After talking to several I discovered none of the small companies that independence sell would cover a house that couldn't be seen from the road or a certain number of neighbors. Strange rule that the old agent said he had never ran into. Ended up going with Farm Bureau. I compared their rates with a couple of others and they were competitive but not as cheap as the independent that couldn't write the house and cars as one policy because of the house location.
  12. Added another target to my hill side. Rated for handguns up to .45. Not suppose to be used for .22 because it will not swing and could come back at the shooter and center fire rifles because too much power. http://vikingsl.com/portfolio/viking-pistol-target/ I mounted it semi permanent by driving a piece of channel 30" into the hill and bolting it on instead of using the X base. I put it at an angle so if I shoot .22 it will deflect down, seems to work. Have also pushed the limit to handgun caliber carbines and it doesn't seem to over stress anything. It is out at about 25 yards, the targets are 6" and 10" AR500. Here is a before picture.
  13. No gun this time just a target
  14. Grandson of the last guy??
  15. Don't know what he is shooting at, but it looks like a very small rifle.
  16. I saw a fairly inexpensive adapter for the Mossberg pump to make it feed them reliable. It was a part that could be swapped in and out fairly quickly, don't remember the details. May be the same type of adapter for other pumps. Was tempted like you bought price and reliability stopped me.
  17. They said a side arm was legal not an armed sidecar.
  18. Got my lower assembly back from Ruger today. Fast turn around, 8 days from when I dropped it at the Post Office till it showed up back in my mailbox with the free magazine in place. Safety feels more positive, will run a couple of magazines through it tomorrow.
  19. The Mail must go through
