Gun range's ban on Muslims draws fire
ProfEngr replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Oh darn, some muslims got their feelz butthurt. Cry me a river. Considering the current state of affairs surrounding the (so-called) muslim religion, are they really that shocked over this owner's reaction? How many pilot training schools would be reluctant or refuse to give lessons to muslims after 9/11? Just sayin. -
You can answer in PM so as not to hijack the thread, but what do you use for your home media server?

Defense to Prosecution bill
ProfEngr replied to Capbyrd's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Hope this gets a lot of traction. I'm sick and tired of the 'it's illegal but there's a "defense against X" written in.' Guilty until proven innocent. Bleh. -
Pricey at $450 range, but if it sets by zipcode & does proper trunking then I can see why.

Good to see others on here from my corner of the state. "Feels" like most of the posts on here are from Memphis, Nashvegas, or K'ville.

I've thought of doing it for a month or 2 just for giggles. It's only about $10 difference from the 100MB base. My streaming player regularly displays 45MB from Amazon. I dunno if it'd go higher on GB since that particular cat5e was damaged by lightning years ago and only links to the router at 100MB. Hmmm... wonder if my router could saturate 'the gig.' The other deciding factor to drop comcast was when they locked down their lineup to require STB's. I was on the fence about EPB and their quasi-govt operating status til then. Locking my QAM & analog tuners completely out in the cold (w/o a STB for each) tipped the field in EPB's favor.

Doomsday Clock just drop-kicked itself into irrelevance due to the citing of global-warming/climate-change.

New Twist in the SIG Brace Debate
ProfEngr replied to btq96r's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Guess cops are exempt when using their non-trigger hand to steady their aim. What a load of bull. -
That's the only issue I have with the 458. Ammo availability. Would love to have one since it fits the AR lower.

Fortyfive, Any data for the 5.7? I have a 12" barrel, 1:8.5, that deposits small flecks of copper-ish material in the first chamber. Hollowpoints. AAC says the 5.7 works fine with the M4-2000 (or any other 5.56 for that matter).

Those make about 800+MW combined. At least the 3 I worked at 10yrs ago were that big. Before combined-cycle plants, turbines were typically used during peak load. Who knows when the TVA nukes will actaully go online. Cost overruns; schedule delays. The inspection process alone for a single weld is a nightmare. -

Some larger utilities took stimulus money for upgrade work. But normally it's revenue from residential & industrial customers that keeps the power flowing. -
Constitutional Carry in TN
ProfEngr replied to shotgunshooter's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
While I like the concept of open carry, I still would never do it myself. Too much hassle based on current societal mentality. -

People like me and those I work with go a long way to keeping things running as smoothly as they do. Irony: reading One Second After as an ebook. -
Constitutional Carry in TN
ProfEngr replied to shotgunshooter's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
How would it affect pistol-carry reciprocity with other states if the permit were nix'd? -
Guy in FL makes them. RMWXtreme.

Fast Zed was what I was referencing. In that case it would be spray-n-pray. Otherwise I'd pick semi. -

Isn't that what the pew-pew-pew selector is for? -
Good thoughts there DS. Found a crushed neck on one a few months ago & pulled the bullet by hand. Lead is exposed at rear. Only reason I like S&B is the brass jacket they use. I located a box of factory hollows from earlier this year. Will probably stick to that. Hate to shrapnel an AR upper.

So, dad had some free time and decided to go through a box of this stuff and make hollowpoints with the sportsman's guide jig. He called me up saying he'd found 17 rounds with cracked cases at the crimp. S&B has been my go-to ammo for 7.62x25 for the last 10yrs. Has anyone else seen anything like this from them?
