  1. You can mark the date and remember the fallen while at the same time deploring the more egregious consequences we inflicted on ourselves in response to it. The two aren't mutually exclusive, and both have their place so long after that fateful day.
  2. I think something to consider is the generational aspect of this debate. Right now we still have a sizeable enough population that remembers the days of mostly cash purchases, balancing a checkbook with a pen or pencil, credit cards needing that hard swipe to get the carbon copy filled out...basically a different consumer experience than we have today. In 25 years, the overwhelming majority will have been using debit cards and online banking from the beginning, with cash being a secondary means of transaction. Going to a more or less cashless economy by then wouldn't sound so extreme.
  3. It's no exaggeration to say this event changed the course of my life in both the short and long term with all that came after. But today I'll pause to remember those taken from us, and those who ran into the danger to save lives at ground zero.
  4. This is how I do it... Ignoring how fat I look in this picture, notice how I have my index (trigger) finger as far out as I can, while gripping the pistol with my other three fingers and thumb as I normally would. I still have control over the movement of the weapon, and the index finger is irrelevant in the process. I've gotten myself to the point of muscle memory that whenever I'm holstering a pistol my booger hook is nowhere near the bang switch and extended in that position as seen here. It's not too hard once you get used to it. Admittedly, I don't re-holster fast when I practice this at the range, since I don't see a super speedy re-holstering being worth the effort to learn. An added benefit is I've found this a sound technique for both OWB and IWB holsters.
  5. I'm not wearing my glasses, so I'm hoping I missed the part where people go to prison for credit fraud and criminal conspiracy. Probably shouldn't hold my breath. $190 million is a pittance for a bank like Wells Fargo. Individuals committed these acts, and with the number of people that did, it couldn't have been individuals acting on their own thoughts.
  6. Since we have a minimum of eight, we'll roll with that, but with one adjustment...we'll skip week 1 in the NFL, draft next week, and start on NFL week 2. I'm starting to fix the teams now. @ou812 PM me your email addy, I accidentally deleted your team. For anyone new, please PM me your email addresses as well, so I can get you set up.
  7. Please don't let this be about your nuts...especially in the Show and Tell sub-forum.
  8. Last bump. If we can't get an 8th by tomorrow afternoon, I'll have to cancel this year.
  9. I've learned never to underestimate the propensity of Cowboys fans to buy whatever is being peddled in front of them.
  10. I never said it would last, though I think it shows at the moment he's being supported (if only in spirit) by people's wallets, not chased out of the building as others might want. If he keeps it up and becomes a more vocal proponent for BLM, his jersey may become a fashion item among the trendy.
  11. Near the top left, just under where it says "Overall Top 25" you'll see it under that in smaller print.
  12. Check the dates in your link...says 4/1/2006 - 6/30/2016.
  13. The free market is speaking: The San Francisco 49ers quarterback currently has the fifth-best selling jersey on NFL.com, less than a year after it was put on clearance sale. Ironically, Kapernick doesn't see a direct profit from those sales, the profits are pooled along with every other jersey sale and split between the current maker (I believe it's Nike at the moment), the teams, and the players as a whole.
  14. Can we get one more in the next day or so? Eight teams isn't ideal, but we can make it work with some quirks.
  15. Turns out Kapernick may not have been the biggest O2 thief on the 49ers roster. http://www.si.com/nfl/2016/09/05/bruce-miller-arrested-assault-san-francisco-49ers
  16. And the gun owners community at large isn't exactly short on moron's.
  17. Just by watching the NFL, you're financially supporting the team that hires him (as long as he's playing). Revenue sharing from media agreements nets each team over $220 million, and any time teams play, they split the revenue from the ticket sales. That's before you get into the issues about how the league on whole being competitive keeps every team financially solvent, so just by supporting any team, you're supporting the 49ers, and by extension Kapernick.
  18. We could make it work with eight teams. I'd have to adjust the roster spots to make it work well and be fun. Maybe less bench spots to make things interesting on the waiver wire.
  19. Because they aren't protesting in the same vein as BLM. I'd imagine that's the crux of the outrage for some.
  20. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/97743-ups-store-in-murfreesboro/#comment-1391699 Sort of discussed here. There isn't a law, but they might not know that. Also may be a store policy as they are owned via franchises, not directly through UPS. I'd guess they don't want the liability that may come.
  21. Bump. May have to cancel if there isn't enough interest.
  22. Think about how you're going to be spending the time you'll be carrying. Sitting, standing, moving around a lot...that's going to help you pick the gun, holster, and belt you need.
  23. So do their customers, but that's why they're deemed budget rifles among shooters. I'm the first one to say that if you want to be certain of a quality gun, buy Colt, DD, or BCM...but I won't knock anyone buying a PSA gun, as I have an upper and a lower from them myself. As long as you recognize the limitations on QA/QC against the kinds of specs you mentioned, it's still money well spent for overall value.
  24. I have one, and have seen the issue you mention. Like @1gewehr mentions, ammo load is the big factor in that. This isn't the gun you want to be using the cheapest ammo on the shelf for. I hate having a gun I can't put a WWB through reliably for practice, but I treat the P3At as a specialty weapon for it's awesome ability to conceal without any issues. It fills a niche need, so I treat it as such.
  25. I'd question it's effectiveness as a recruiting tactic. I think it's true purpose is public relations/PSYOPS/IO...whatever you want to call it. The public will care about inflated DoD budgets or contracting programs run amuck if they're conditioned to "support the troops" via attending/watching football games and NASCAR events.
