  1. I carry a G30 in a Comptac Minotaur I picked up @ Lebanon Gun Shop.
  2. I'm conflicted. The instructor in me says now. After seeing people who couldn't hit the target at 3 yards thinking they could still carry a gun I can't support free for all carrying with no testing process to weed out people that honestly don't need to have a loaded gun in public. The American in me wants to say yes...what part of "shall not be infringed" is so dang hard to understand.
  3. Gun cleaning supplies Magpul shotgun dvd New boots MREs Cool fossil display Gift cards Magnesium fire starter Gotta love a wife who found my US Cav catalog Dunndw NRA/State certified handgun instructor
  4. Howdy and Merry Christmas from another Donelsonite
  5. I've seen some of Chads work...it's awsome.
  6. Dang I'm glad I work for a boss that requires me to be armed at all times :-) One of the few perks of working for yourself I guess. Only time I disarm is when I have to go into a restricted zone. Most of my clients know I'm armed, I've even converted a few.
  7. I have found my gun in my hand before I knew it as well. My wife and I were in the middle of house cleaning, vacuum running, etc..lots of background noise..etc. We had a friend coming over to watch football that day and we didn’t hear her knock on the front door. She heard the vacuum running so she came around to the back door and opened it. That startled the dogs who started up with their alarm barking, which startled the wife who let out a yelp, which startled me, who before I knew it had a Sig 220 snatched out of it’s holster. I saw who it was and all was well, but I never thought about the gun, it just was there...which is exactly how I want to react in that situation. I can also attest to the phantom safety sweep. No matter what gun I carry, my thumb goes for the 1911 safety
  8. I thought so, however I haven't played with a supressed 1911 until this one. It pointed very naturally on the range. Once the nanny gives me the OK to take it home I'll let you try it out David.
  9. I have seen many many women look at a 1911 in fear...until they shoot it. I've had numerous ladies in classes that have never shot a handgun before. They start out scared of anything larger than a .22. When we get down to the time to shoot for score, many of them have rented one of my 1911s to qualify with. The weight of a 1911 makes it a challange to carry, but that weight, along with the "push" recoil of the .45 vs the snappier recoil of a .40 makes is a easy gun to shoot (in my opinion)
  10. I store my EDC on the nightstand right next to my nightstand gun? They're usually both 1911s, the nightstand gun has a light on it

You can't go wrong with Nighthawks or Ed Browns. I suggest stopping by The Reloaders Bench in Mt Juliet because they are close to you. I know they stock both Ed and Nighthawks. You can get a feel for them. I personally lean to Nighthawks. Something about them...I
  12. Better ya'll than me :-) The baton part was informative even amusing with "agent lizzard" trying to justify breaking a baton over someones head. My wife seemed much more relaxed the rest of the day, perhaps because she went after the training pad with some gusto when I was holding it
  13. SilencerCO, silencer, suppressor, 801-417-5384 Osprey in .45 Hearing safe dry, pistons for different threaded barrels and the ablity to run it on a 9mm (still hearing safe dry) It works WELL. We were outdoors and it was comfortable without hearing protection. One day I'll get to shoot it inside and see. I'd imagine it would be a bit uncomfortable, but it made a LARGE difference in the sound popping off 230 grain FMJs
  14. Thanks to TnRobocop. Now the LOOOONNNNGGG wait begins.
  15. I have a client in Nashville that has a Knoxville location. The recent weather has got me to looking for a emergency tech in their area. I'm up here now trying to get a server back online. It wouldnt be a very often kind of thing, but when you're needed it'll be a bad need :-). Needs to know Windows server, networking, pc repair, etc. Hit me up via PM if you'be got any ideas please. 16. I'm usually in a pair of 5.11s or Woolrich Elite pants. I love them. The pockets work well for carrying cabling tools, external hard drives, etc..the everyday stuff of a computer geek. On the weekends, the front mag pocket comes in handy for my IDPA top off mag. Check out LA Police Gear for some good sales on 5.11 gear.
  17. I had my sbr engraved at a trophy shop in Nashville and they did a great job. I even had them add some laser engraving on the magwell. Dunndw NRA/State certified handgun instructor
  18. I've got several Glocks, Sigs, HK, etc but I almost always pull a 1911 for carry duty. Every now and then I'll carry my Sig 220, or my .357 Sig 229 but I'm at my most comfortable carrying a 1911. They fit the hand, point naturally for me, the mags are easy to carry, external safety in case some idiot tries a gun grab, they can be customized to pretty much anyones liking. With todays makers and finishes I don't think there is a better carry pistol IF the person is willing to train with it.
  19. ASP...no pun intended (Joelton Gun Shop) is having the baton class on the 19th of Dec. My wife and I are signed up. I think it's from 830 until 1230, with OC spray cert class after.
  20. If you cant get into it give me a shout...I carry various "tools" for this very thing. If it's a quick fix, it'll be your Christmas present this year :-)
  21. Buddy of mine called me tonight. I sold him a Taurus .357mag revolver with laser grips last year. Someone broke into his house and stole the gun and his TV. Those were the only things they took, so I'm guessing it was someone he knows. BOLO on a stainless Taurus 650 .357 magnum snubnose revolver with CTC lasergrips SN XG2XXX9. Stolen 12/1/2010 in the Old Hickory/Rivergate area
  22. momma said if I can't say something nice then don't say anything...so.................anything
  23. yep. I'm certified for 9mm, .45 and 12 gauge, but not baton. This is the class I was looking for(baton). Not really interested in getting sprayed, I havce enough sinus problems without packing themfull of pepper spray.
  24. Does this count for security officers as well as civilians?
  25. Being left handed I don't have that problem. I have had a problem actually pushing the slide stop out on a Wilson Combast 1911.
