  1. I want one of each. I think the ACR will be 1st on my list...black please The SCAR will be my 7.62 rifle I've been wanting here lately
  2. I have the Mogul (PPC-6800) with Sprint. I live and die in Outlook. It does everything I need. It DOES need to be updated from the HTC website BEFORE you load any data into the thing (the flashing of the ROM wipes all user data out) If you need touch dialing then I'd suggest going with the Treo in either flavor. I have one of the 700wx models as a backup unit in case I kill the Mogul. I don't like it as much as I like the 6800...but it does have dedicated numbers for more touch dialing.
  3. I don't know where you're located, but Guns and Leather (Greenbrier TN) had one on the rack for 1600
  4. Pants one or two sizes bigger One of those "Under Armor" copy t shirts from Walmart with a camp style cover shirt. 1911 in the IWB 9 OClock (I'm a lefty) Pretty much my daily dress
  5. I've got the non folding version of the Sig 556. It shoots very well. I ran 200 or so rounds of dirty Wolf steel cased junk through it with only 1 or 2 problems. I want that folding stock in black for my Sig.
  6. I was just poking fun at the devious planning involved in the some of the stages...not complaining about them at ALL. The steel popper that launched the mover in and out of cover...devious :-) but in a good way. I think I couldn't setup a course of fire that well thought out. Like wheelgunner said right after one of his COFs...when the president of the club gets a procedural we can't gripe too bad :-)
  7. I have to say...if I were to stop at a gas station crawling like that one was with BGs...I would have either left or gone in for the AR15 :-) Rabbi..were those stages the norm for a standard match? Devious minds they have setting up stages :-) Was WASN'T happy with my misses. The gun ran fine..seeing that I only had about 150 rounds in her by that point. The only problems I ran into were self induced. I have got to remember NOT to watch Guns and Ammo TV before going to a match. They had Rob Leathem and (I think) Todd Garrett on there showing off....damn those guys make it look way too easy
  8. For nashville: The gun/pawn shop in Gallitan (Len knows the name) has a gun smith on site who (from what I've been told) builds the Uselton Arms 1911s. Guns and Leather in Greenbrier now has a gunsmith on site.
  9. I'm dreading my envelope this week as well. I tried to go too fast...and the misses showed it. I only had one procedural that I know of. I'm still not 100% sure what nicked my finger. I'm guessing it was the 1st reload on the 1st stage. At least is wasn't my trigger finger. Cold windy damp...but WAY too much fun. I'm just glad I was finished shooting stage 4 when the Rabbi went into his jungle man scream. Today was my 1st outing with my electronic ear muffs...lets' just way they were tuned into Rabbi VERY well all the way across the berm.
  10. Looks like the weather is going to be rather sucky...hopefully we can still get the match in. Unless it drowning frogs I'm going to make the drive
  11. I know...I know...and it looks like the vet might have to come before this one as well...but I'm still planning on making it.
  12. dang it...that's what multitasking gets ya sometimes. We're meeting at the mapco on 109 at 12:15 to leave for the match.
  13. If anyone who is a 1st time wants to caravan out meet at the Mapco off 1-40 at the hwy 109 exit at 15:15. Len and I are going to carpool from there.
  14. I put it on my calender as well
  15. The classes I have taken (Personal Protection inside the home and outside the home) and an advanced handgun class from "The Range Inc" weren't what I'd think of as an operators class. I think the round count for each of them were around 300 to 500 rounds. My (hopefully) next class will be from CIS; their advanced handgun class. This one has a 1000 round count. I don't see it as excessive. Sometimes there are "do overs" in a course of fire. The CIS class is a two day class, which I'm guessing is mostly range time. 1000 rounds in two days isn't that much.
  16. Prob agg assault.
  17. There are 32,000 assault victims that might see a need. and I agree about the gov thing 100000000% How we as a people allowed ourselves to be snowed into believing a God given right should be restricted by the powers that be is beyond me.

  20. We don't really need CCW in TN. In a state with 6,038,803 people: Murder/manslaughter: 409 Forcible rape: 2142 Robbery: 11,129 Agg Assault: 32,227 property crime: 249,297 Burglary: 62,859 larceny theft: 163,845 Auto theft (where you're supposed to store your gun if there's booze served) 22,593 http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/cius2006/data/table_05.html
  21. I don't THINK it would be a issue...but your aim with the mag would have to be right on. i think it would easier to strip the mag out with your weak hand, and toss it into that big open pocket. If you missed dropping the mag out of the gun, you'd be slowed down having to stop and pick it up...like I did last time...I think twice. I have got to stop practicing letting the mag drop to the floor empty on the range.
  22. Greene Military in Nashville, or you can find them online
  23. I was just picking on Len...but I'll be picking one up this week :-) It does seem almost perfect for IDPA and training classes.
  24. I picked up one of those 'non infidel" lowers from Frank yesterday. Stuffed it full of DPMS guts, topped it with a Rock River upper, and shot minute of bad guy at 50 yards, in the rain with open sights. (30 rounds on a 8 inch circle target) It was a real blast shooting something that I put together
  25. Were you the fella down there Thursday with the "denied" guy? I'm the one who picked up the stripped lower
