I got hit with sticker shock too, but my issue was the weather. I started my seeds early enough, but because I could not get them out due to the freeze warning days so they got a bit leggy. I put them out but they didn't look too good after a day or two. My usual place seems to have closed, they had inexpensive plants in a 4x4 or 6x6 container for what Rural King, Wal-Mart and the other box stores want for their single plants. I still purchased a few, but looked for ones that had two or three plants in the container because it was just too expensive for a single plant. I stated more seeds but don't hold out too much hope they will germinate since they were a bit older.

I've got at least two, seen one chasing the other from the feeders. The last one I seen on the feeder had a bunch of black on it's back, not sure it was a ruby-throated one or not, which is the ones I've seen the most of.

Yes, I know where it is from, but it goes to show the control an out of control government can assert. As to OFAC, you can just forget the foreign part because as you and all of the US not already in the know found out, many federal three letter agencies do not care if they are catching foreigners or citizens in it's wide nets. I make it the day of, just use hot water and 4 Tbsp of sugar per cup (8 oz). Each feeder, I just have two, takes a cup, it can probably hold more but this way it stays fresh since I have to change it out more often. I think I will place two more at the front of the house, where they will see them sooner, and maybe get more birds since one can't possibly defend all four.

Have to disagree with you there, I should be able to leave it on the dashboard with the window down and still find it when I return. That doesn't mean I did anything wrong, it is the thief that is wrong, all day long. Now, I live in this reality, so I won't do that, but the premise stands. If they don't want us to leave our weapons in our vehicles, then maybe they shouldn't have so many no-gun zones. Well, had to clean out the feeders today, as I'm making their food, here comes one and feeds out of the old food, probably giving me a bad yelp review now. I change it out once a week until I start getting birds, then they decide when, 2-3 days last year.

Well, I'll say this, no matter if she ran her mouth, called them racial slurs, or whatever, it does not mean she needed a beatdown from three assailants. I am definitely not in the shape I once was, and if one or more try and give me a beatdown, someone is not walking away. I am armed, and if I become incapacitated, they will then be armed if they are not armed already, so I will not allow myself to become incapacitated if I can help it. I have this attitude because I know I will not be the aggressor in that kind of situation, I am not one to start fights, and will walk away if I can. So there is no chance I will be involved in a drunken brawl, specially because I am armed most times.
