A great example of the use and need to practice is in the just released video of the officer involved shooting up near Knoxville recently. The female officer was shot in the leg and went for her tourniquet but it looked like she was unable to apply it to her leg properly. The civilian that stopped to help applied it and followed her directions as to how much pressure to apply. I don't know the extent of her injury but the extra minute or two to apply could have cost her if it had been to her femoral artery. Thank goodness she survived, and hope it wasn't just to the application of the tourniquet but of a less severe injury.

Maybe she should not have been kneeling.

Yup, Darrell pegged it. What you are doing is feeling the resistance on the case, neck/body, or the expander in the neck and that is moving the handle. Follow the instructions Darrell posted, which are what Lee recommends, and it should size the case fine. I will add though, be sure to lube the cases, 223/5.56 are the only ones I have gotten stuck in the sizing die, more than once.

+1 what greg asked, and did the primers come out? If they did then something is not right, by the time the pin goes through the flash hole, the expander should have went through the neck. Talk us through how you setup your sizing die, so we can see if there are any obvious issues. Oh, and don't be embarrassed to let us know if you screwed up something, we've all been there, some of us more than once

I made my position clear on Red Flag Laws. While I believe that gun owners should seek out training, I do not think the government should be involved. Ad soon as they are, they will mandate training, before being able to have a weapon. Once they get that passed, they will make training so difficult and/or expensive that very few will be able accomplish it. As to the additional duties for a school resource officer, I think all that head-shrink stuff needs to be handled by a separate individual. A school resource officer should be trained on his LEO duties, not counseling duties. Background checks, while allowing more access to private citizens to use it sounds good, the ATF is already proposing no private sales without one, coincidence? I think not. They'd love nothing more than our willingness to use the tools they provide to send them to your door for being a dealer without an FFL because you accessed the system more than whatever arbitrary number they want to use to consider you a dealer. No, that is enough giving away our rights. There is no negotiating with the left, everything we give in to, they want more and more, enough is enough. Dead Right There (DRT). The military trains to shoot at center mass, which is a large target, think chest. An MOA at 100 yards is roughly a 1" circle, at 300 Yards, its about 3" circle. At 300 Yards, which is about the farthest you want to engage normally, a 3 MOA is about a 9" circle, so well within the chest of your target. So it's not as bad as it sounds, but many soldiers are not crack shots, so that can expand that circle much more, but any hit is a good hit.

Military grade, LMFHO, civilian ammo is much more accurate and more effective. FMJ is not in my EDC or SHTF stash for a reason. Most military ammo just needs to be 3 or 4 MOA, whereas target or hunting rounds try and achieve at least 1 MOA, most sub MOA, and they are designed to DRT your target.

When you take a pic, the pic has the axis in which it was taken included in the exif file. Your phone automatically "rights" the photo regardless of the exif. When you upload, some software reads the exif and posts the photo that way. To fix it, edit the pic on your phone, either crop it, resize it or what ever, some will flip the photo according to the exif and allow you to flip it upright. Save the file then post it.
