  1. The day before the story broke I had put in an order for 2k bullets from Weidners, cause I was getting low, should be good till the prices come back down.  But I don't think this is a done deal...  It will come back, sooner rather than later.
  2. Hit and miss, when I buy I buy lots so that if it gets lean I don't get left high and dry.  At one time I bought whatever I could find and used it to trade if I couldn't use that particular powder.  I have a pound of blue dot I am now stuck with and cant find anyone to trade with...  It is so limited in its uses...
  3. All small primer .45 go into the recycle bucket....
  4. I have a load for the 77 and 80 using TAC.  The 77 load matches the MK 262 that the military uses.  Unfortunately the info is not with me here.  I should be able to dig it up Monday.
  5. I was just paroled from CA as well.  I am loving every minute of this place.
  6. That is not entirely true.  My log has bullet drop out to 600 yards for 77grn SMK that I shoot out of my Service Rifle for competition.  WIndage as well.  Hold over with scopes in competiotion 99% of the time uses mil dots and is not true "KY windage".  but I digress in the name of peace.
  7. Why are you using KY windage?  does your rear sight not have an elevation knob?  Do your home work and use your equipment they way it was designed to be used.  Mine is zeroed at 100 yds, one click up for every 25 yards past that...  Just saying...
  8. Second the NRA. their course in range development is mandatory pretty much.  Insurance will not touch you with out using their range development plan.  I was a member of a club In San Diego CA years ago, it had been there for over 50 years and many times we had to have the NRA out to certify the range for insurance and complaint reasons.  We were there before the neighbors, but their complaints still caused us troubles....
  9. I have an auto Stryker that I love, have carried it with me literally around the world on deployment with me.  Great knife that I would love to send in for service but cant seem to part with it for that long...
  10. I keep my ammo in ammo cans, and the cans in an old deep freezer with a hasp and padlock on it.  The old freezer is well insulated and seals tight so I don't have to worry about moisture or temp extrems, and the padlock keeps it out of unwanted hands, and my neighbors don't think I am a gun nut with all the ammo cans stacked...
  11. It that had not been a series 80 it would be on the way.  Looking for a solid platform to build a Service Match pistol...
  12. I load then the max length that the magazine will allow, they headspace on the case mouth, so you can go longer.  The closer the bullet is to engaging the riffling when chambered, the better your accuracy SHOULD be.  That is the theory, and it has proven true for me in 9 and in 45 in my experience.
  13. It is actually not as hard as you think. With the right gear and training anyone can get decent at it. I had never dreamed of it, but one week at the All Navy Matches, with a good instructor and I had them all in the black at 600 yards prone, open sights, with a loaner gun. Most people are just to proud to learn the right way to do it, always reverting to bad habits they learned while hunting with Granpa'...
  14. If it isn't stocked when the poo hits the air circulator you may be to late.
  15. I use a M1009 Cucv.  Basically a 1984 Blazer, 6.2 Diesel.  EMP proof, diesel last for years and the 6.2 CAN run on WMO mixed with old gas.  It does not like it but it will run it.
  16. I am in the Navy and stationed here in TN.  I have a FL drivers license and don't want a TN license as I own a home in FL and I will loose the homestead exemption on my property tax if I don't maintain my FL DL.  Can I obtain a TN state ID card and use that for my carry permit?
  17. I have an old express, and it is all metal,  I think it is from 1986 0r 87.  The guard is cast aluminum (plastic on the new ones) But the wingmasters are steel.  It is parkerized not blued, and the wood is oiled, not shiny finish.
  18. Thanks for the welcome, and I will look into those ranges, I am here on what should be my last tour, and so far I am not all that inclined to leave either...  I guess when I buy a place it is going to have to have some acreage....
  19. Hi all, just moving to TN from CA.  Navy orders and all.  I have been here 3 weeks and already love it!  Question on shooting here, in CA there is loads of BLM land, I can find nothing here.  Where does one go to shoot?  Do you have to go to an official range, or will general public land suffice?
