  3. That was a Wal Mart in Louisiana. The manager said they were standing by the decision not to have Confederate memorabilia but said the worker "didnt know" What a sham. I need me some rainbow flags to burn. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  4. Noveske and Lilja make GREAT barrels, but if its not going to be an SPR/DMR or Competition gun there is no real NEED for one of those. Ranier Arms, PSA and Anderson Mfg. Make really good barrels for the price; I have no problems with my SBR running a PSA. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  5. As the others have touched on those little buggers will crossbreed with domestic dogs and they REALLY are fearless. Out in the Back 40 of Campbell I went to drop off some chow for my Joes off of Grant and Jordan Springs...it looked like pitbull coydogs, and they werent scared of the Humvee, my car, them or our weapons. Trapping is pretty brutal...Those F'ers scream something devilish when theyre trapped...and I tell you killing one with a shovel is a lot harder when its flopping around and trying to get out. If you cant shoot them, a crossbow or suppressor will remedy what Johnny Law reccomends. Or...you can use fireworks/gunpowder and ingenuity. It isnt pretty but it worked in Florida and in New Hampshire. Hope you find a good solution that will work Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

  7. Homegrown jihadis, sleeper/shadow/splinter cells, lone wolfs and nihilists are always a threat. Soft targets are everywhere.   If the mainstream, and Che-t-shirt-wearing-emo-save-the-whales-take-the-guns-basement-dwelling-felchers want to keep trying to ban guns, and do their stupid "All Lives Matter" cardboard displays let them at it.   I am telling you, all it takes is a few determined and reckless individuals to maintain fire superiority and a good covered and elevated position in a theater, church, temple, Central Park or the likes to let these idiots know : Gun free doesn't mean gun free.   Not that I wish that on anyone, but there are sick bastards in this world and it seems no one except the middle class cares to try to stop it. Anarchists, nihilists and lone-wolf-copycays roam our borders with impunity. It is not hard to find some goober on Armslist that just wants to offload his cheapo-ar15 at a bargain to some sketchy dude without asking to see any form of Military ID, HCP or otherwise.   The left will never understand that, they just care that their voters want more "gun control" so "Confederate Nazi Facist Right-Wingers" can't kill them or ambush their homosexual weddings that they proudly flaunt around.
  8. Wish the drive by media saw it that way. People have been killing people for time immemorial. Cain killed with a rock and we just so happened to escalate to thermonuclear tactical munitions. Guns are just easy to demonize. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  9. Im with Mikegideon on this, anyone who thinks you can just repeal 2A (which you can't) and EVERYONE will just hand over their guns and ammo is litterally insane. Everyone likes bending words to make things corroborate with their beliefs. We do it, Libs do it, the Pharisees did it and ISIS does it. I can give two dookies. Im not giving my gear up. Gun control is a flawed concept. When I was growing up in The Bronx in NYC I probably saw and more Class 3 and otherwise "illegal" stuff in NYC than I have seen in my time in here in TN/KY. Anytime some nut job does something crazy the drive by media and all of the sheeple want to get rid of Confederate battle flags and machine guns. Stupid. You can make a binary HE compound out of camping and pharmacuetical supplies. You can kill someone with an ax handle or your teeth or drown them. As long as people feel like theyre "making a difference" they dont care who it affects Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  10. Awesome, I'll definitely check that out. Theyre really nice pieces just the trigger sucks lol. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  11. My wife and I got a matching and sequential pair of Ruger SR9s as wedding gifts this past December, 'effin sweet!   However, we own HK VP9s (and also were used to the old crappy M9s in our arms room) and shooting the SR9s was...different.   The trigger pull is HEAVY, A couple others guys here on post I've talked to about it had the same complaints, my brother-in-law is in the same boat with his SR40. It is making our shooting look really bush-league. Granted we aren't some NAVSPECWAR-door-kicking-double-crimping-Osama-assassinating guys...but we know how to shoot.   I did a quick googling, and saw some kits online...but being the skeptic I am, I have to ask.   Has anyone of you messed with the trigger in the SR9? Is this something you can "Ghetto-Rig/DIY" or are these kits a must?   If the kits are solid, how noticable are they? And should I do it myself or have a certified person do it for me?   Thanks in advance!
  12. Good Copy, Murga.   To touch on the smartphones/tablets - I'd definitely go with a dual-band router. The new fancy iPhones/Galaxy S#'s all have decently good NIC's built into them that will pickup 5.0GHZ Wifi freqs and are 802.11G/N capable, I forgot that everyone is on the move all the time now lol.   My ASUS Dual-Band RT-AC68R is pretty damn secure out of the box, comes with the ability to setup VPNs/FTP servers if you wanted to host a "share drive" full of movies/photos or shared storage via USB 2.0/3.0. It has 4 ethernet ports (like your's that you had mentioned, I like that setup!) so I hard wire the stuff I don't use all the time so it isn't taking up space on my wifi - notably my printer/scanner, Xbox 360, Kali Linux book and my Xbox One. The antenna position does actually make a difference, SHF freqs are big and "bursty" but will be deflected by steel joists, concrete board and even big ferns (plant matter loves ripping up RF frequncies - even on LOS VHF/UHF bands).   As was mentioned earlier, repeaters are only half-duplex - they'll transmit OR receive, not both continuous so you'll see a drop in throughput and overall QoS (quality of service) from it. With a gigabit switch like a simple Cisco Catalyst 3560 8-port you can set bandwith limits on things so a friend/family member doesn't suck up all your bandwith - and I assume since you're using a modem you won't have a lot to play with. I have 100Mbps Fiber from CDE Lightband in Clarksville so I don't really ever suffer from that - but if you're on Sat/Cable obviously you'll have a lot less to work with.   With dual-band in mind, you have to make sure your repeaters are also 802.11x (where X is the protocol of your current router) compliant and are dual-band rated...most will just be 2.4 GHZ, so that means all the smart phone users/super computers with dual-band NIC's will have dead space.   You can use a booster, which on average can give around 10-15dBm increase of power, but you'll experience what you call "over shooting" if you're too close to it because of the high power, and I am not a doctor - but being around a bunch of high amplified RF radiation isn't too good for anyone, and still - Booster or Repeater it's duplexing/multiplexing ability is going to suck at a low price range. A lot of this will be shooting from the hip, obviously every house is laid out and constructed a different way, and you have the consideration of being able to use it on the outside of your house.   In summary...my 2 cents: Dual Band Router (moot point - but make sure it is WPA2/WPS enabled, and mess with your settings so it locks out and changes broadcast channels after about 5-10 times)...Dual Band Repeater in areas you KNOW will be dead space and that you absolutely cannot/will not be able to run Cat5 to.   I can launch into a whole other theory/treatise on penetration testing and cyber security but, for the most part, unless you have the aforementioned 17-year-old-basement-dweller-wannabe-Anonymous type living next door you don't have to worry about your wife's Facebook being sidejacked or your wireless coffee maker being DDOS'ed
  13. Are you totally sold on wireless? You can do a switch and just run Cat5 cable to all your devices, a lot easier to troubleshoot when something goes down. With wireless you have your different 802.11x protocols which differ from NIC/Wifi Dongle. Then your broadcast freq of 2.4GHZ and 5.0GHZ...which can be interfered with. Then you take into account how SHF (super high freq) propogates dependant on antenna structure and atmospheric conditions and dBm and amplification and you have a new headache. Granted...a lot of the newer dual band routers by ACER, ASUS and Linksys have ethernet ports so you can hardwire what you are out of range. Repeaters do get a little wonky, they are more like relays than retransmitters; you can lose dBm gain and range, plus that is a whole new propogation issue to take up on. Hard wiring is a lot better...granted, in the Army we dont touch wireless EVER but at home I have an Asus dual band with ethernet running to systems I am not in range of. Then you have network security to keep in mind. Make sure you go with WPA2. And look up a password hasher to complicate your login. On Kali Linux I can boot up 10 different programs and bash scripts to force entry/destroy your connection...its an easy skill to acquire...and its good practice you dont need some 17 year old basement dweller metasploiting you and then DDOSing your router with hping3 while he just sidejacked your banking session with Ferrer/Hamster. You can PM me if need be; I can get super "full retard" with this stuff as I do it everyday on the Greensuit side.
  14. You also need a Tactical Archer turtleneck and fingerless gloves
  15. You can build a quality AR for under 650 if you shop the sales on a view websites...I like the following: Palmetto State Armory (SC) Anderson Manufacturing (KY) Primary Arms (TX) I included geography for which ever ships faster to AK. Built myself a SBR with only those three (minus the form 1 blah blah) came out to $571 worth in parts including shipping costs. Its an addictive hobby
  16. In a handgun? Fired it once with one of my helo pilots, hell of a bang, not as bad as a .45-70 in a Thompson Center single shot pistol though

    HK VP9

I can attest to what Jaymc is saying, bought it on a sweet deal from a LGS ($500 NIB) near Ft Campbell and I absolutely love it. The ergonomics of it (swappable backstrap and sides of the grip), the night sights that come stock, the trigger and the out of the box accuracy are something to write home about for a pistol in that place range. My wife didnt enjoy pistols until I picked this up, she fired it a few times and I have yet to get it back
  18. Reading more of your guys comments have been humbling. Though, can all of you say for certain youve never acted rashly out of anger or agitation? Anyways... Actually ran by the duplex where the guys car was today, more out of curiosity and saw him by his car and we had a pretty good talk. I reminded him of what happened, he remembered vaguely and figured we were friends of his for some reason. I told him, back when it happened with him chasing us, if we were armed the day wouldve taken a turn for the worse. He actually agreed, and said hed do the same. We had a good laugh about that. I showed him the tapatalk feed, he was amused to say the least. Funny how things play out. Im glad things went the way they actually played out.
  19.   I haven't even fired an AR10 yet lol.    She actually bought herself a WASR-10 and has been doing work to it; she just wants to build an AR for herself now.   I wouldn't be too against an AR10, but I have zero experience with 308, or similar big bore calibers outside of the military, I know an AR-10 is a big difference from a M240B.   We're also trying to be fiscally responsible about this, only reason I am looking for big calibers in the AR-15 platform is for the superfluous amount of 5.56 brass we have lying around and because of all the spare parts I have.   I guess in a way I am also trying to add a personal touch to it, as this will end up being a prolonged birthday gift, as corny as that sounds.
  20. PSA and DS Arms deals are awesome. Did my pistol/SBR build for around 520, I went with a CMMG LPK since I needed ree-ree instructions for my first build. Anderson Mfg also had sweet deals, ships within a day to Mid TN near FTCKY. Good info brother.
  21. Well with all the info im between the 6.8SPC, 6.8BSP, .277, or the .357 SIG. If I cant be fiscally responsible ill be back into 300BLK :( I thank all of you for the quick feedback and advice, and will update as soon as I build the rifle
  22. Been consumed with my wildcat dilemma havent read this again til now. I really do appreciate the extra input here yall...I think at the core it is a philisophical issue as well, and a mentality thing. Both for myself, others and perhaps all of us. There is a lot more variables in a situation like this than I had cared to realize, and obviously shooting it out isnt the best way to resolve. Hopefully it wont come to that, the last 3 nights ive heard gunshots and sirens. Crazy world.
  23. Guess 6.8SPC would be the thing to do. The suppressor is more for sake of our hearing, and not being high speed tacticool mall cops. We will scrap that idea if it will suffer. Ive also ran into the 6.8 BSP, from what I gather is just a fat 200gr bullet with a 1:7 twist, it posts numbers close to that of a 300BLK. Never heard of it though. Now, if I did want to also be able to use 6.8SPC out of a SBR or "Recce" 16" barrel, would that 1:7 overstabilize a vanilla 6.8SPC round? Just hashing through my options. Really dont want to jump bake into the Blackout craze lol
  24. Wonder how the performance, especially the trajectory drop would change with an extra 2 inches of barrel length. Its good to 250M then it starts nose diving, granted you can compensate for it with good glass, but 34 inched of drop over the next 150M to 400 is a little extreme...JMHO
  25. The other thing is I have never reloaded. Of these .223 cased wildcats like 6.5, 6.8, x40WT etc...are they had cartridges to learn on?
