Someone that thinks they won't get killed because they are laying down should realize the old saying "as easy as shooting fish in a barrel" applies even more when the fish are laying on the floor. But...I carry for protection. Because I realize the government only provides for the "general" defense - they defend the public. Don't make the mistake of thinking,"but I am a member of the public". A public hazard is dangerous to everyone...a burglar in your house only endangers you and your family. The police are only legally required to defend the public. That's why I carry. This didn't really start to hit home with me until my friend's car was broken into a few years ago in Nashville. The police wont come out at all or even take a report unless it is during regular business hours. The way things are going I can see some larger departments doing the same thing with home invasions. "Sorry just lay down and maybe the BG wont kill, rape, or hurt you or your family. Once he/she has left please file a report during our regular business hours of 9am til 4pm Monday through Friday." Not gonna happen to me. Lay down a field of fire, more likely. I will always try to talk my way out of a fight or walk away first. I guess I believe in,"speak softly but carry a big stick".

I didn't "beat anyone up" just pointed out that the search feature is a valuable tool to research a topic to avoid posting a duplicate thread. Many topics have been discussed at length before and some of the best information can be gathered from old threads. Many times more information than can be gained from a new one IMHO.

Not trying to be a grouch, but the Search button is your friend. This has been discussed at length many times.

TN House of Representatives Range Day: AEDC 2009
Fadex replied to BimmerFreak's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
It's great for our representatives to get a positive experience with firearms and also get the connection that everyone with a gun isn't out to kill or rob someone. Events like this are the only way to win them over. Going to their office is good but I'll bet Range Day will stick in their minds longer than any meeting. Great work and a sincere THANK YOU to Joe, Dan, Chris, Ronnie and everyone else that worked to put the event together. If you ever need a volunteer to help put something like this together, I'm willing to do whatever I can. -
I have been pulled over for some pretty questionable reasons in the past. Once for expired tags...when the temporary tag was taped in the center of the rear window clearly visible from behind and from where the officer was standing. But my favorite is "because you looked too young to be out after curfew" LMAO...I was 28 with a goatee and smoking a cigar.

I knew something was different but couldn't figure it out...thought my glassed were just dirty...looks fine to me and is much faster on my phone.

I think everything has been covered but I just want to reinforce the importance of having the gun fit you. I used to skppt skeet/trap/sporting clays and there is a big difference between the felt recoil of a properly fitted gun and one that does not fit. As an example I have a 20ga H&R single shot that is way too small for me and it hurts to shoot it...I never take it out of the safe...while my 12ga over/unders or Beretta AL390 goes with me to the field or range every time.

Best - The Saddle Shop (Arrington, TN), Hero Gear (Winchester, TN), The Outpost Armory (Christiana, TN) Each for their own reasons. The Saddle shop is like the little shop I grew up with. Small friendly, not a huge inventory but they will do special orders and transfers. Very friendly and easy to work with. Hero Gear - Man I could go on and on here but to keep it short...Great on hand inventory of firearms, ammo, accessories, clothing. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff...these guys are awesome. The Outpost - While these guys are new and I have seen mixed reviews, I have NEVER had a negative experience in person on on the phone. Good inventory and improving, decent selection of accessories including some very hard to find items, great ammo selection and pricing, the staff is willing to go out of their way to find an answer for you. Worst - Uselton's (Franklin, TN) High prices, rude staff, owner wants to take away gun owners right to sell their own firearms and numerous other reasons that I'm not gonna go into. On Target (Murfreesboro, TN) Gun shop and range - My biggeat problem here is that the staff gives the impression that you are inconveniencing them unless your are a LEO. It may not be intentional but I have felt that way every time I have asked a question or visited the store.

I called Springfield about some custom work to my XD(m) and that's what they told me. I ship to them...they ship directly back to me. No FFL involved. I'm sure you can confirm that by calling the manufacturer of your firearm. Definitely wouldn't ship it to them without calling and getting a RGA# first.

While I do understand your frustration and extreme concern regarding our current economic and political status I cannot agree with the thought process of flying our country's flag upside down. Under these circumstances I believe that it would be a severe sign of disrespect. The flag does not belong to "us" nor does it belong to "them" it belongs to all U.S. Citizens. Our grandfathers, great grandfathers and even great great grandfathers fought and died to save it, preserve it and protect it in one way or another. We all want our country to thrive, and obviously have very different theories of how to turn things around. All of these theories have some merit. But insulting our flag does nothing to win over the hearts and minds of those who do not agree with you.

I had the same problem (comcast.net) but I did get the confirmation email the next day.

I was following this thread closely the night that the member was banned. I read the posts before they were removed. David gave ample opportunity for the member to avoid being banned and the member chose not to take advantage of the opportunity. Regardless of the topic, the posts that were deleted were not appropriate IMHO.

Mainly price and speed...the Dillon was too expensive, the Rockchucker is a single stage...I liked the turret on the Lee so I could set up a turret for each caliber and leave it.

I know some places around HWY 8 that would work well.

I ordered a Lee Turret Press kit in December....it just came in a couple of weeks ago. I havent had a chance to get anything set up

I just started making these last weekend (yeah I was really bored) and I can't believe how well they actually work. With that said, I am having trouble getting my seams to seal properly. Any suggestions on a good way to expand the cut end of the can? Or should I just use JB Weld or silicone gasket adhesive?

Actually some lodges up North do have alcohol in the lodge. I know that it's a big no go here though.
