All the solder I have used had a lot of tin in it. I have read where people will use solder to add tin to their lead for casting, but not using straight solder for bullets. But the solder you have may be different, IDK.

Is it Legal to Sale Personal reloaded ammo?
Superman replied to lshel's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
How do you reload to much ammo? You will shoot it sooner or later.lol -
Thanks. What about mags? I am guessing promags are no good, lol. What about the others that are available? Or should I stick to the factory mags?

Went to the Outpost looking for a LCR, they wouldnt deal any on it so I asked about a 9mm shield, which trey didnt have. So I went to Chi-Rho in Tullahoma no LCR or Shield, but they did have this Saiga 12

Switching from Auto-Index to single-turret for .223?
Superman replied to a topic in Ammunition and Reloading
If I was just starting out I would get the Lee classic turret press. I do not have one, but thinking real hard about getting one instead of a full progressive press. It seems to me that you could use it to load one round at a time or use it like a single stage and just turn the turret by hand to the next die instead of swapping dies like with a single stage. Right now I have 2 single stage presses, I set them up to size/decap and then flare the case mouth. Then I will prime with the lee hand primer. Then I set one press up to seat bullets and the other to crimp. I charge a case with powder seat the bullet then crimp, then move on to the next case. -
The guy I work for is just like what you describe. He just wont shutup and a lot of it is just flat out lies. I'm trying to work and he just goes on and on or I'm trying to leave and he follows me out to my truck. Today he was talking about his old mustang and how he was offered 10 grand for it in 1979 and then the owner of the Ford dealer offered him any car on the lot for it in 1980. It is a 1966 convertible 6cyl.

Dont have one, but sure do want one. Probly 357 magnum or 45 colt, maybe both.

Not worth the money in my opinion. For the price of the US palms, just buy the circle 10 mags, otherwise you cant be the surplus steel mags. I had 3 that fell apart when just loading them, USPalm sent me 3 more with a return shipping label in the box for the 3 broke ones. Haven't done anything with the 3 new ones. But they have made the bottom with 4 tabs to lock in instead of just glue.

If I read the first page right, i dont need to lube the bullets before sizing them. Just after sizing correct?

TICS is Tennessees version of the NICS check. I think the $10 fee was supposed to go away after a while. But you know once the government starts collecting money they don't want to stop.

Cool, thats what I thought. I use factory boxes, but never thought of painting them. I wish people would shoot more S&B, those boxes are so much smaller than any of the others. Atleast in 9mm.

Just got back from the range with it. I really like this gun. I can see it replacing the 19 that I carry on occasion. Also shot some reloads thru it and my Glock 17 and 19 that were loaded with titegroup, I think I am going to like this powder to.

Thanks, I have gone through that thread and your zombie thread a couple times. Which brings up a question, where do you get those black ammo boxes? Almost looks like they are factory ammo boxes that have been painted. These

Well I sorted through what little I have. Got about 35 pounds of clip on lead weights and about 5 pounds of stick on weights. Gonna check with some of the other shops in town, see if I can get some more.

Yes steel and zinc melt at higher temps. No real worry on the steel as it is much higher than lead. But Zinc is only about 150 degrees higher than lead. Lead melts at around 625 degrees while zinc melts at 780 degrees.
-
You can also tell by the sound they make when tapped on a hard surface like metal. Zinc and steel will have a higher pitched noise and lead will be a dull thud. ETA-Also on the longer weights, you can bend or break the lead, zinc and steel are much harder so they don't easily bend.

Going to try out some bullet casting. Got a 5 gallon bucket half full of wheel weights from work this morning. We don't do a whole lot of tire work plus one of the other guys has been taking it for scrap. I asked the boss if he was giving it to him or selling and that I might be willing to pay more. He didn't know the other guy was taking the lead, OOPS. Well he wasn't to happy about it, but told me I could have all the old wheel weights I wanted.

The one I picked up tonight has a much better trigger than the one I handled at the LGS this afternoon. Going to take it to the range in the morning.
-
It has been a while since I handled a M&P45, the LGS didnt have one just a 9mm. On the reset it felt like it had a false reset and then actually reset after releasing a little more.
-
Thinking bout getting one of these. I like my Glocks, but in 45 its just to big. But then the mags are more expensive and tear down is more complicated on the M&P. Decisions decisions. Oh and the trigger reset sucks on the M&P. There was one that sold on GB for $535 with 10 10rd mags and 1 14rd mag. If I could get a deal like that it would be easier to make the decision.

Thats what I was thinking but hoped maybe someplace was open. I know CCDixon isn't open, the one in Tullahoma isnt even open on Saturdays
