Here's a good starting point that Dolomite_supafly has posted in the past. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/56167-good-reloading-starter-kit/?p=859307 ETA- there is also used equipment out there that could save you money as well.

I wonder why they couldn't/wouldn't answer the questions about what the penalty would be for not complying with the new law. Did the legislators forget to put a penalty in the bill? or did the guy "answering" questions just not know what the penalties are. It was nice to see the Sheriff on the side of the people, being NY I didnt expect that. ETA- I watched the 33min version, they never answered the multiple questions about penalties.

I have no idea if they would cover it, even for the original owner. I have heard good and bad about Arsenal customer service. But in their defense, it isn't something they did, that hole was drilled by Saiga. But it was overlooked by Arsenal. Whoever fixes it, if they just replace the barrel and they use that hole as a guide to drill for the pin it will happen again.
-
I am no gunsmith, but I have built a few AKs from parts kits. Looks like that pin was drilled to low. My guess is you are going to need a new barrel and likely a new rear sight block to fix it. SGL models started out as a Saiga, right? Not that it matters in this situation, but the barrel pin is the pin that holds the barrel in the front trunnion. You can see half of it in the second pic.
-
I would have to agree with this. I do not have a turret style press, but have been wanting one. If I was just starting out thats what I would get, but I have only been reloading for a few years.
-
We need pictures. I am having a hard time understanding how the barrel pin could have fallen into the handguard. The pin for the rear sight block maybe, but not the barrel pin. ETA-sounds like it needs a new barrel

The way I understand it it isn't actually banning guns. It bans the ownership of mags that hold more than 7 rounds. If the mags hold over 10 rounds you have a year to sell them or turn them in. If your mags hold 8-10 rounds you have to modify them to hold only 7. My question is do you ignore the law or do you move to a different state. I wonder how it would work with new guns. Does Glock, Sig, S&W, etc modify the 10 round mags before they are shipped to dealers? or do they just quit selling certain guns to NY?

State suspends gun carry permit for James Yeager
Superman replied to ironsniper1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
AFA the "I will kill anyone that tries to take my guns" that is said by people all the time. Hell I have heard Phil Valentine say that on the radio many times. I heard him say it a couple times last week. Why is it such a big deal now? Because Yeager said it, I dont get it. -
State suspends gun carry permit for James Yeager
Superman replied to ironsniper1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Suspending his permit isnt going to cover their ass if he did do something. People will say the state knew he was a gun owner and they didnt take them away. But it doesn't really matter anyway, cause he isnt going to go off killing people and he will have his permit back before long. Yeager sure gets some of yall worked up for something that I am sure other people have already said. I dont follow Alex Jones, but doesnt he say stuff like this all the time. -

Location: off of exit 105 on I-24 Waldens Gun Range 1862 Sixteenth Model Rd Manchester, Tn 37355 Range is open all day Mon-Sat and Sun opens at noon Date-TBD Date doesnt matter to me, I live 5 miles away from the range. But we need atleast a 2-week notice to reserve. Range fee $10/person Pistol side has no cover and is very muddy this time of year. Wont really dry up till April or so. Rifle side has 300 meter range with a covered area to shoot off a bench, and an uncovered concrete slab beside it. Berms, target stands, and a little steel at 100, 200, and 300 meters. We need atleast 15 people to reserve 1 side for 1 day, or if we have less people they would have to be willing to pay a little more. Its hit or miss on how many people are there, I have been the only person there and I have showed up and both sides be overcrowded. So to guarantee a place for 10-15 people to shoot I think we would need to reserve the rifle side, in my experience it is more likely to be full than the pistol side.
