Just saw on another website there will be another show not listed here on Dec 12-13. So that's 4 gunshows for that weekend, might make TICS checks kinda slow.

No you can't carry in DC -
Yeah I am a righty. To be honest the trigger really feels like crap. I got to searching around and found a little insight on the crappy trigger. I just did a quick polish on the contact points and it feels a lot smoother. I will get some good polish tomorrow and go over it again before I hit the range with it again.

Took it to the range today and it hits low and to the left. Tried the Sig and it hit good. Did some dry fire with the glock and tried again. Still low and left. I'll do some more dry fire practice with it this week and try again later this week or next weekend.

No, not directed at you. I think Leroy said something like it. But it wasn't directed at him either. I have heard comments like that many times before, that you can't be a good person without faith in GOD. I have also heard "How can you believe in heaven if you don't believe in hell" I am more interested in what drives people to not be a good person or to be evil. I believe what goes around comes around. If you do good good will happen to you. If you do bad bad will happen to you. Plus being a good person makes you feel a whole helluva lot better than being a bad person. And it makes the people you are good to, feel a whole lot better as well. When I get mad at some one it doesn't last long. I have never been able to be mad at someone for very long at all. Most of the time me being mad only last a few minutes.

It was my b-day yesterday, So I bought myself a new toy. I had handled several Glocks before, all 3rd gen, and can't stand the finger grooves. Don't really like rails on handguns either. A couple weeks ago I handled a 2nd gen 19 and liked it a whole lot better. So today I bought a 2nd gen 17. Plan on taking it to the range tomorrow and try it out. I am carrying it now, at home, and it feels better than my Sig. No sharp edges rubbing/digging in to my side.

I am not religous and not very spritual, so in some peoples eyes I am not a good person. I don't believe you have to have faith in something to be a good person. I give to charities and help people whenever I can. I think there might be a god of some sort, there may even be several. I believe there is a heaven, if there is I believe we are all going there. I believe there is a hell and we are all here. If GOD created anything worse than this he is one sick and twisted dude. If you think I have to be a christian and believe in god and jesus to be a good person, I truly feel sorry for you.

Second -OR- None ... A Celebration of Liberty

The one standing between Ronnie Barrett and Ralph Bristol? She's one of our state reps, can't recall name or district. Also engaged to Ronnie Barrett -
Well from this post it sounded like you thought there was something that would keep it from running. That's why i asked

taken out by an EMP

So what, on an all mechanical diesel with a manual transmission, would it need that would be taken out?

I am new but I carry with one in the chamber and have since the first day I got my permit. The time it would take to rack the slide could be the difference in a self defense situation. Lets say someone is standing 20 feet away with a knife and they run toward you. You will not have time to draw, rack the slide and get a shot off. He could be on you before the slide slams home.

From the article "Seven countries have launched a campaign for the U.N. to start negotiations on a new treaty regulating the global arms trade to help prevent the illegal transfer of guns that kill and maim thousands every day" I don't get it. They always talk about creating more laws to stop illegal activity. Will this treaty suddenly make illegal gun transfers more illegal? I hope that I can live long enough to see people with common sense in leadership positions.

Here's my BOV, I don't need no stinkin roads.

I am an auto mechanic and my first day at my current job I was given a Monte Carlo, front wheel drive, to work on. They said it had a burnt valve and wanted me to take the heads off. Since I didn't work on it I diagnosed it myself and decided the injectors were stopped up, so i took the injectors out clean them out and it fixed it. The guy that originally diagnosed it, he thinks he can fix anything and is always right, got mad and started calling me Superman. He's been calling me Superman, for about 5 years.

National websites do work. I am into offraoding and there is a Tennessee website that is very active with over 10,000 users, but you have to register to view anything on that forum. And then there is a national website, not run by the same people, that has over 140,000 users with almost 9million posts

I know people in the Monteagle/Tracy City area and they say they have seen them while hunting. I go off roading up there all the time and have yet to see one.

To those that think people shouldn't mark prices up more than a few dollars- You don't want to know what kind of markup you pay on a different service, not gun related. Those that say customer service isn't worth paying a little extra for are crazy. I can get great prices on new guns without leaving manchester, but the customer service sucks. Customer service at Hero Gear is outstanding, especially with Joe. I was there awhile back and talked with him about the FS2000 and a SBR AR. I wasn't sure which to get and told him I couldn't afford either right now. But he still answered all my questions and I asked about firing the FS2000 in the prone position because I read somewhere it didn't work well because of the design of the gun. No sooner than I finished the question he grabs the gun off the rack and hits the floor. The shop that pays 500 for a new gun from their supplier and sells it for 550 are high volume or will never get ahead. Or maybe they are paying their employees minimum wage. Or selling guns isn't their main source of income. I don't think $700 is out of line. To keep good hard working knowledgable people you have to pay them and to pay them you have to make money. If you don't they will go elsewhere.

Terry's place is a public range and is frequently closed for different things. The Middle Tennessee Shooters area is kinda private, you have to be a member, but they also use it for IDPA. They have some videos on youtube YouTube - IDPA manchester
-
How big of a place is needed? What about Terry Waldens place? The pistol range isn't real big, but the Blocked off area that middle tennessee shooters uses I think is barricaded on 3 sides, has make shift buildings and a car on it.
-
That's the way i understand it. Apparently they have changed the way the make the 6.8 ammo and if you use this "new" ammo in an older gun or in a saami chamber it is equivalent to firing 5.56 in a .223 chamber.

Here is some info I found a. Barrel Length: For most practical shooting, a 16" Mid-length chrome lined barrel will be ideal if you plan on shooting 80-115 Gr. bullets. If you plan on shooting the heavier (130 Gr.) bullets, the 18" or 20" barrel is a good idea since you will be able to get an extra 60-125fps more than a 16" barrel. b. Barrel Twist: 1. The ideal twist for the 6.8SPC is the 1:11"-1:11.5" twist. It will allow you to shoot the 80-135 Gr. bullets. 2. The 1:12" twist is ideal for the 80-115 Gr. bullets. 3. The 1:10" twist barrels will allow you to shoot the 80-135 Gr. bullets, but the barrels with the slower twist slightly reduce the pressure. c. Chamber: The best chambers for the 6.8SPC are the SPCII Chamber and the DMR Chamber. The SPCII Chamber has a longer throat which allows you to shoot the hotter loads without worying too much about pressure signs. The DMR/DMR-C Chamber was designed for precision while still capable of shooting the hotter loads. For anyone that has a SAAMI Chamber, the one thing you could do is have someone lengthen the throat to the Improved Chamber specs. SAAMI Chamber: Tight Chamber. (Similar to the the .223 Chamber.). DMR/DMR-C Chamber: Longer throat than the SAAMI Chamber. (Similar to the Wylde Chamber.). SPCII/Improved SAAMI/SAAMI II: Longer throat than the DMR Chamber. (Similar to the 5.56 Chamber.).

Well I have looked into the 6.8 before because I plan on getting one. And it looks like everybody in the 6.8 world is saying 1:11-1:12 is the best way to go know with an SPCII chamber.

I am new to this, but as far as I know the twist rate is determined by bullet length. Longer bullets perform better with a faster twist. Heavier bullets are longer than lighter bullets. My suggestion would be to talk to Joe or someone down there at Hero Gear. I am sure they could explain to you what twist you need and why.
