Campus Carry Issue in "The Weekly Standard"
leroy replied to StPatrick's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Thanks for posting this great article. I have been watching this one closely. I believe that state school systems may well take a whipping in court over their continual refusal to allow law abiding citizens to carry firearms in states that allow concealed carry. Keep up the good work. Kind regards, Leroy -
Rep. Johnny Shaw speaks his mind.

Vote him out!! Keep up the good work! Kind regards, Leroy -
Excellent point. Dont disagree. There is a big difference between a "legal system" and a "justice system", that is, in fact, just. Kind regards, Leroy

Teddy Roosevelt on Immigration and being an American
leroy replied to daddyo's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
A great quote by a Great American. Thanks for posting it! Kind regards, Leroy -
Jewell:_________ Sorry to hear that you aint laughing about this. Remember, you can’t change things if you don’t start somewhere. I join your opinion that there are lots of things wrong, and that it is right to be concerned about them. I would recommend starting with the big ones first. This First Amendment thing has already been settled with regard to the public square. Remember, the courtroom aint the public square. Sorry to hear that you have excused yourself from the running. Kind regards, Leroy

To all who have opined on this issue:______________ It has been a delightful read for me. Thank you all for the great entertainment and a smattering of real insight. I have a proposal: I propose that we select a "champion" -- a real radical libertarian -- who is utterly fearless and willing to go to the bitter end to put into the forefront this heinous injustice of judicial narcissism, raw exercise of judicial power, and abridgement of the First Amendment. That person needs to be someone from this forum; a person we all know and trust; who will accurately, coherently, and artfully report the results of that testing of the limits of judicial authority. They also need to have some extra time on their hands because as I remember, contempt of court aint a bailable offense. This person needs to be argumentative in the extreme so he (...or she...) can sufficiently agitate the judge to get an adequate test of the jurist's forbearance. He (...or she...) can travel to the nearest court (...preferably a Federal one...) and try the presiding judge with overbearing and impudent disregard for the office and person of the court; then gage the results (...if any---my guess is that there will be some…). I am honored to be the first to be willing to contribute up to $10.00 smackaroos American to the TGO Benevolence Fund for Jailed Members. Having said all this, I open the floor to take nominations for this fearless individual who stands among us within the TGO Community. Now, all we need to do is to tally the results and appoint a Treasurer to distribute the collected monies. Waiting to contribute and excited to hear who the champion will be. (...By the way, I have excused myself from this competition. "If nominated, I will not run; if drafted, I will not serve!!...). Kind regards (...with money in hand...) Radical Libertarian, Leroy

Nubian Prince (Andre Carson, Congressman) afraid of Tea Party Movement
leroy replied to leroy's topic in General Chat
I understand the point; but I don’t really care. I am exercising my first amendment right to political free speech (...with the approval of the TGO administrators, of course...). The fact is that I have no interest in not offending those who choose to be offended (...by the way, being offended is, indeed, a choice...). Pundits in this country have a long history of "over the top" political free speech with regard to names. They called Lincoln a baboon, Reagan a buffoon, and Bush a cowboy. Since we are on the subject; here is a link with some valuable information on "Nubia": http://www.thenubian.net/nubold.php I think it is an honor to be called a "Nubian Prince". I believe that it is, indeed, a step up from what he really is. If Congressman Carson is offended, he has a right to rebuttal. I'll be glad to listen to his pronouncements. With regard to Jackson, Sharpton and the other race baters: Don’t worry about trying to be nice and to convert them. It simply won’t happen. If it does; it will ruin their meal ticket. They aint goin to do that. No demagogue is willing to coexist next to a people that love the truth. No need for them if someone aint downtrodden by the "Man". One more thing; I think it is high time that folks wake up and see things for what they really are. This guy (...and others like him, both "Nubian" and otherwise...) is lying and Ray Charles (...if he was still upon the earth...) can see it. The Tea Party Movement is no more a threat to the safety of this country than the Boy Scouts; and he well knows that. He is following the lead of his mongrel socialist brothers (...and sisters...) to try to get air time and whip up his no count base. I aint interested in being nice to this lying piece of trash nor any other politician that seeks to make us criminals and serfs. My advice to you is that you shouldn’t either. Thus endeth the lesson. Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges for Capturing Most-Wanted Terrorist
leroy replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
Thank God. The truly sad thing is that a fellow soldier told the lie that started this and a general officer let it go to trial. Leroy -
Jason:_________ I BELIEVE they are Winchester 410 loads. Check this link out: http://www.winchester.com/Products/shotshell-ammunition/supreme-elite/pdx1410/Pages/default.aspx They caught my eye too. I like the bond arms stuff too. Am greatly tempted to get a 45/410; but the last thing i need is another gun. Kind regards, Leroy

Sadly enough, the courts are charged with the responsibility to interpret the law. Remember what that the Sheriff said in that great classic "OH Brother, Where art Thou?†"...The law is a human institution...." Being human, it does bad things and even unlawful things. Here is a pretty good interpretation about what "free speech" is with regard to the questions at hand: Link here:firstamendmentcenter.org: Personal & public expression in Speech - Overview Text here: Thus endeth the lesson! Kind regards, Leroy

Amen brother !! Well said! The First Amendment is about political free speech. It does not allow you to say inflammatory, ignorant or nutty things wherever you want to. There are plenty of places where you are not free to say whatever you want to say. Examples: "Fire" in a crowded theatre. (...legal guys like this one!...) Me saying bad things about your momma in your house. Folks in the military can’t criticize their commander(s) in public. Folks in the military and some government service cannot participate in partisan political speech (...a genuine abridgement of "free speech" that everyone should be mad about...). Last but not least: No idiot tee shirts in a courtroom. You can ascend the stump outside the courtroom if you are moved to. It happened in Knoxville recently in the Christian-Newsome trial when the kids’ mom(s) and dad(s) were outraged by the words and actions of an "officer of the court" (...read that defense lawyers...) who said plenty of bad things about their kids in court. RE: The "excessive and narcisstic (ab)use of power..." Lots of that goin around today and it all aint in the courtroom. Lots of it in Congress and the White House. Keep up the good work! Leroy

Actions do have consequences. In a court of law, the judge has wide latitude to determine what is permissible as to dress and demeanor. Moral of this little story: Don’t offend the judge (...she or he or it...) has a lot of horsepower and latitude to discipline those who would transgress. Spent quite a bit of time in the Federal Court in Alexandria Va in the eighties. Great lesson in judicial temperment (...which can be bad from time to time...). By the way; there aint no free speech in a court of law. Never was. Food for thought, Leroy

Arizona-Style Rebellions Over Immigration Spread

Interesting read. It will be interesting to see just what (...if anything...) the Federal Government tries to stop this. I believe that there is nothing (...other than threats to states...) that can be done due to this: . I believe that this is one of the first shots in the new battle of states rights vs the federal government. It will be interesting to watch. Thanks for posting it. Kind regards, Leroy -
Me too. I have used these little files to sharpen the serrations individually. It takes a light touch though (...no or very light pressure, watch the magic marker go away; then stop...). Link here: DMT Diafold Serrated Knife Sharpener Extra-Fine - Knifecenter.com I use a magic marker to "color" long bevel side of the serration (...dont sharpen the back side, just knock the burr off with one stroke on the back...) to make sure i cut all along the front serration valley and dont blunt it off (...if you kook closely, the individual serrations are designed to be like a chisel or gouge--sharpened on one side only...). Success varies alot for me though. I (...like you both...) seem to have much better luck sharpening a plain blade knife. My observation: Plain edge= extremely sharp. Serrated knife=so so edge. Hope this helps. Kind regards, Leroy
