This is grandstandin pure and simple... It's nothin more than shameless panderin to these single mothers who cant believe their little boys can grow up and turn in murderin, rapin, pillagin monsters... Guns aint the problem; absentee fathers, no fathers, and a matriarchial society that chooses to not to address the real problems are... leroy

Enfield... What Ropin said above has been exactly my experience withe the sig 238... I carry mine in the front pocket in an old roughout D>M. Bullard pocket holster... The sig is well made and the safety detent is solid... In my opinion; ya simply cant buy a better external hammer 380 than a sig... Havin said all that, i could go for a hammerless S&W pretty quickly... I like 'em.... By the way... This is the holster i use... Mine is a roughout... http://store.dmbullardleather.com/catalog/product/2720d3077c3d4b8da17a2c2e2bd05e33 Hope this helps... leroy

Bill allows suits over gun-free zone incidents

It don't matter... A good arguement is a good arguement; regardless of the purpose for which it's used... You don't discard a particular line of thinkin just because it was used to make some case that is either morally wrong or one you don't happen to like... leroy -

If the thing we're discussing is finally made law and challenged... I predict this is the argument that will be used... Ken did some very good thinkin here... leroy Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Bill allows suits over gun-free zone incidents

What we've got here is a circular firing squad, along with circular reasoning, along with a dose of runnin off into a bunch of pasture fields that dont matter... The fact is that the government (...local, state, and federal...) has seen fit to meddle in "property rights" for those engaged in public commerce... Whether anybody likes it or not, for better or worse, no one has changed that as yet... If you are the proprietor of a business that serves public customers, the gubmt tells you lots of things and makes em stick with the force of law... The gubmt tells you to have certain food standards (...if you are a resturant..), to have a certain size parking lot, to have restrooms meeting certain standards, defines insurance requirements, personnel requirements, fire code requirements; the list is endless... Friends, that is, in fact, gubmt meddlin and injecting requirements into your "public business"... The fact is that the gubmt in in the "business of regulating business"... If the gubmt can demand that you be liable for some poor hapless soul (...your customer...) stepping on a wet noodle and breaking his butt and make it stick (...and they can... that's why you have insurance; which is mandated by gubmt...); what is the difference in it tellin you that you are responsible for the safety of your patrons should they be hurt as the result of your demand to take responsibility to disarm them and make them vulnerable to mayhem...? We can quibble about whether gubmt should be meddlin in this or not; but the fact remains... They are and have been for a long time... I will grant that you can either be a "king in your castle" or a "tyrant" (...my words and definition..."do what i say or else...) in your own home... Your home aint a public place... As others have pointed out; if you engage in a public business, the rules change... You may not like that; but that's how it works now; no matter the argument about "property rights" trumping everything else... I say, if you want the "meddlin in business thing" to change, start workin on your elected reps and get to changin 'em... Good luck.... I predict that you'll need it... leroy -

With all due respect... You ain't pro liberty, bro... You are pro "...im the boss here and you will do what i say..." That aint liberty; that's tyranny... One person demanding that another do what he says or else... That's ok; but with all that comes all them other responsibilities if you are in a business that is open to the public... Ya can't have it both ways... One "right" doesn't trump another "right"... They gotta be balanced unless you are a private citizen and i'm commin into your private residence or compound as an invited guest (...which i aint gonna do if you don't trust me with a firearm...)... This proposal is a sensible attempt to balance the "right to self defense with a deadly weapon" against "property rights" in businesses open to the public; and i think it's high time some smart guy came up with this...Your mileage may vary... leroy -

The examples may be a bit ignorant; but the message aint... In english:..."...If you decide to disarm someone commin in to your business, you, the business owner, are responsible if i need protection from bad things and bad guys that a gun provides..."... I've been waitin for this one to come up... I think it will settle the "Property Rights" vs "Second Amendment self defence" thing pretty quickly... It's a concept whose time has come... watchin leroy... -
Mac... They are, indeed, very beautiful... Satin finish beautiful wood, rosewood fore end cap (...i think...)... The prettiest gun in the gun case; and that includes a couple of first issue Ruger #1's.... The only thing i think would be better is the old style mauser claw extractor rifles... Havin said all that, Chris has a great idea... The double rifle is where it's at... The ultimate bawanna rifle... My checkbook just wont stand the strain of one; and im too old ta use it now... leroy

Mac.... I've got an older Remington 700 Safari in 375... It is a beautiful thing to behold... When i was younger, we would shoot it prone with a sissy bag... At 60 yards it would cut a 3 shot cloverleaf if you did your part holdin it (...we used the old "hourglass" targets and aimed at the points...) with iron sights... I never had any factory loads for it... We always used the accuracy load from the Lyman Manual with Sierra either 270 or 300 grain spitzer boat tails... I believe we used IMR 4350 for the powder... Right here is the latest copy on the bullets we used... https://www.sierrabullets.com/store/product.cfm/sn/3000/375-dia-300-gr-SBT To sum things up; they are a great rifle with a helluva punch and remarkably accurate... I heartily recommend 'em... bawanna leroy...

tercel... I wear 'em all the time, and i use suspender buttons too... The best of the best suspenders are made by Fred Welch... Here is the link... http://www.welchsuspenders.com/ ... These are, in fact, "the best of the best" ...period... I discovered 'em 40 or so years ago when some of my buddies went and worked in the log woods of the pacific northwest... They are the standard of the log woods; and have been for years... I like the "Y" backs with the 2 inch wide elastic... Easy on your shoulders and will hold anything up... Most of mine come from David Morgan... He also sells "bachelor buttons"... They are the buttons that ya have to button the waist of your carhartts and levis... Ya can install 'em with a hammer... Nothin to it... Here they are.. http://www.davidmorgan.com/product_info.php?products_id=32 ... If ya want ta go all out with the logger dungarees, check here... Good deals on them as well... http://www.baileysonline.com/Clothing/Men-s-Clothing/Jeans/Key/Key-Industries-48011-Relaxed-Fit-Denim-Logger-Dungarees.axd I have also bought carhartt logger dungarees from sierra trading post... Buy without hesitation... I've done business with all these folks... This stuff will hold your dungarees and everything else up... leroy

Willis.... I've got a more pedestrian 442 that has a gizmo called "the plug" installed... In a nutshell, "the plug" is a filler for the hole for the key and a gizmo that removes the internal lock mechanism in my little pistola... It works like a charm... Ya might think about one; or simply find an older, non locked pistola... Here's a good starting place on "the plug".... http://www.smithandwessonforums.com/forum/s-w-gunsmithing/21068-plug.html leroy

I'll join the glock chorus... Gotta glock 27 and a glock 33... I like 'em... I used to carry the 33 in the hip pocket of my dungarees in this holster... http://www.lefthandholster.com/home-1.html It worked like a charm... Got IWB holsters for 'em too... Nothin not to like about them... leroy

Dave is right... Smith seems to be the greatest Glock imitator... Remember the great words of Shakespeare:...."...Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery..."... The Glock guys got it right... The rest of the semiauto pistol world knows that and it scurrying (...with the exception of S&W and Kahr... i think, at least...) to catch up... leroy

Got a standard little speech for the grease and gun oil thing... Learned it from a world class gunsmith i'll not name... He said:... "Buy the one on sale at Brownells... They are all good..."... Personally, i like anything synthetic and moisture displacing... CLP is a pretty good example... I think we've got some Slip2000 grease and oil around here too... Grease the frame rails, as others have said, with just a touch of grease... Oil and wipe down everything else... leroy
