Fourtyfive... Love the holster... What maker...? leroy

Willis.... I've got a more pedestrian 442 that has a gizmo called "the plug" installed... In a nutshell, "the plug" is a filler for the hole for the key and a gizmo that removes the internal lock mechanism in my little pistola... It works like a charm... Ya might think about one; or simply find an older, non locked pistola... Here's a good starting place on "the plug".... http://www.smithandwessonforums.com/forum/s-w-gunsmithing/21068-plug.html leroy

Glock 27... I like it... Shoots very well... We do the "standard" reloading... 180 grain bullet 950 fps... Works like a charm... Nothin not to like about it... Brass is easy to come by... Easy to reload... lerot

I'll join the glock chorus... Gotta glock 27 and a glock 33... I like 'em... I used to carry the 33 in the hip pocket of my dungarees in this holster... http://www.lefthandholster.com/home-1.html It worked like a charm... Got IWB holsters for 'em too... Nothin not to like about them... leroy

Dave is right... Smith seems to be the greatest Glock imitator... Remember the great words of Shakespeare:...."...Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery..."... The Glock guys got it right... The rest of the semiauto pistol world knows that and it scurrying (...with the exception of S&W and Kahr... i think, at least...) to catch up... leroy

This one will be interestin to watch... http://legalinsurrection.com/2015/12/what-if-va-dem-policitians-had-to-abide-same-anti-gun-rules-imposed-on-citizens/#more-155373 leroy

Got a standard little speech for the grease and gun oil thing... Learned it from a world class gunsmith i'll not name... He said:... "Buy the one on sale at Brownells... They are all good..."... Personally, i like anything synthetic and moisture displacing... CLP is a pretty good example... I think we've got some Slip2000 grease and oil around here too... Grease the frame rails, as others have said, with just a touch of grease... Oil and wipe down everything else... leroy

More Pics - Very Cool Stamp on Barrel
leroy replied to Pete123's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
"SA" is Springfield Armory... I think... The "flaming bomb" is a ordinance inspector's acceptance stamp for final inspection... The date is the date inspected... We've got several marked like that... leroy -
Who cares what these "tree top" nubians think about anything... I don't like 'em on principal and i dont watch em... The hell with them... I dont take advice on serious issues from unserious people... Neither should you... leroy

Folks... Ya need to remember that Seattle is San Francisco north... Ya have all these hippie idiots that have migrated to the pacific northwest and wrested control of Seattle from the indigenous natives...They are plague on the state... Seattle is no different from Kalefornia and New York when it comes to these things... leroy

I'll echo the chorus of praise for the DW revolvers... I've had several, liked them all; and im a Smith guy... The one currently residing in our safe is an 8 inch 22lr DW... It shoots better than i can hold... They are well made and very accurate... Buy without hesitation.... leroy

I'm a 38 super affectionado... Got a series seventy in honored retirement... They are a great pistola... Grayfox54's excellent post above pretty well sums up the 38 super story... They were the original "magnum" auto pistol cartridge... They are flat shooters with low recoil in the full size gubmt models... There is a lot to like about the 38 super if ya handload... My 357 sig glocks do the duty the super once did... Think of the 38 super as a 357 sig and ya wont be far off the mark... leroy

prag... We used to shoot quite a bit of 308 thru a bolt gun, most all the reloads were military brass... As others have said, we've both hand reamed and swaged the primer pockets... I don't think it makes a big difference... What the swager (...we have a Dillon...) brings to the party is that it makes things easier on you... I never had any problems with brass done either way... We always sized, trimmed, and chamfered the cases, then we either reamed or swaged the primer pockets and cleaned them well... We used, just as you are doin, a hand priming tool to prime the brass, and loaded it on a single stage press... leroy

Some of the most perfectly finished semiauto handguns ive ever handled were FN Browning Hipowers... They are a work of art... As to reliablility... They are as reliable as any semiauto can be with good magazines... As to shooting... They shoot like a dream... If ya are into 9mm, ya need a hipower... leroy

President Obama declared a state of martial law, what if.
leroy replied to RED333's topic in General Chat
The president cannot declare martial law unilaterally... Martial law has been declared historically in the united states when the civil authorities cannot keep the peace... No one in state government or in the congress is goin along with martial law... Things are pretty bad, but obama aint lincoln and the states sure aint gonna let him get away with this one... leroy -
Why is hollow point ammo more expensive than FMJ?
leroy replied to jgradyc's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
The "...it costs more to manufacture..." answer from brother Garufa is right... Round nose bullets and non hollowpoints take less manufacturing... The "magic" flowered hollowpoints of today have a hollow nose and a folded bunch of "petals" over that nose... At the minimum, it takes 3 additional manufacturing steps to make... Cut the petals, cast the nose or stamp in the hollowpoint cavity, fold the "petals" over the nose... leroy -

Bloomberg investigation cited in fairgrounds gun show debate
leroy replied to Pete123's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Pete... I think the reason for the seeming "nobody cares" thing about the Nashville Fairgrounds is that these idiots have cut their noses off to spite their faces... There are plenty of close venues that will take these shows in without these silly restrictions... The fact is that inner city Nashville is a sewer just like all the other "inner city" spots run by these idiots... Let em starve... No one goin to put up with this silly stuff... They simply dont have to... leroy -
Its a rimless mid range 41 magnum in a neat full size glock... I like 'em... leroy

Moped has given some good advice here... I've got a Sig 238 and several "J" frames... The lightweight "J" frames carry as well for me as the 238... My 26 year old likes the 238... young, tight jeans...Pistol is slimmer... Me... Geezer... Loose fitting dungarees... I cant tell the difference... Don't overlook a small double action revolver... leroy

Here it is my man...! In a nutshell... Pride in ownership and "heirloom" status is for the very expensive models... Everybody makes good binoculars today... Glad ya found some binoculars ya like at a "pseudo-sensible" price... My outside limit is about 200 smacks for 'em.... leroy
