  1. Im concerned about this. Its close to some kinfolks who live in the Brainerd area. Chattanooga (....and lots of other locations like Knoxville, Nashville, and Memphis....) desparately need a good cleaning up. leroy
  2. GREAT ANSWER BELOW!!! Couldnt let this one go. I think Mike's answer on "who wuz worst" is right. It precipitated the American Revolution. Now to Link's opinion RE: "...the worst president..." with the caveat "....in modern times...". I firmly believe that George W. Bush was made to be the "....worst president in modern times..." by several things. Some manufactured and some real. The "manufactured" one is the "....he wuz the dummest president ever..." mantra delivered by the media. The "real ones" are as follows: 1. GWB was sabatoged from the get-go by career bureaucrats who did not agree with his policies; and he simply would not neutralize them. They were principally in the CIA and in the State Departments. Their defiant actions made him look foolish and weak. 2. GWB said that Iraq would not be like Viet Nam. It wuz. The war ended pretty quck; but the occupation sucked; and still does. This wuz preceived by real people as a failing and spun continuously by a hostile press as a "needless war" we were loosing. Again, damaging GWB's stature and reputation. 3. GWB would not answer his critics in the media and in the Demorat party ALA Reagan. You simply cannot do this. The dems and the press finally won this battle. 4. GWB wuz not a real conservative, fiscal or otherwise. He wuz (...and is...) a "big govenment republican ALA "New Deal" Republican via the "compassionate conservative" monaker (...whatever that is....I think it is "New Deal" Democrat lite....). Havin said all that; i dont think he wuz the worst president in modern times; just the most villified and beat up. My vote for the worst (...up until now....) is Jimmy Carter. Carter wuz (...and is....) consistently wrong on every issue he chooses to weigh in on. He is no friend of freedom; and loves cozying up to any dictator; from the Banna Republics to Iran. He is anti American and anti Israel. Completely anti democratic. Carter wuz elected for one reason and one reason only. Gerald Ford (...the Republican candidate...) pardoned Richard Nixon. That sent the message to the american people that the repbulicans believed that some people (....Nixon....) were above the law. They were offended by that; and they should have been. That is the only thing that elected Jimmy Carter. Carter soon screwed up everything and lost to Reagan in a landslide. Everything Carter touched turned to manure (...or worse...). Carter cultivated the image of a "southern conservative democrat" and a "political outsider"; but he simply wasnt. Carter believed (...and still does...) in the "Citizen of the World" baloney ALA the Woodrow Wilson League of Nations. All the "citizen of the world" baloney is simply a ruling class, autocratic, "we are the smartest people in the room" world view that postulates that citizens are mindless rabble to be guided like children and the big decisions should be left to the "best and brightest"; namely them. Said another way, delightful rustics should not be given the task of actually affecting the outcome of the affairs of state. That should be left to the "enlightented" ones; namely the polititians. I think that to this day, Carter is a bitter, devisive, meddling old coot who hates the USA and courts any politico, dictator, or strong man (....foreign or domestic...) who shares his silly notons of being the "best and brightest". He has meddled in and opposed more genuine American policy than any other ex-presidental figure in modern times. Carter has continuously praised and coddled our enemies and hurt our friends more than any previous ex president. Carter is my pick (...up to now...) for the "worst ever". GWB aint close. I will grant that he wuz pretty ratty; all things considered. All that bein said; i believe that Nobama will take his place in a few months. leroy
  3. Richard:____________ Thanks for the kind comments. If you are interested in this sort of stuff; i would recommend that you get this book: http://www.amazon.co...a, howard b lee The title is "Bloodletting is Appalachia" by Howard B. Lee. Mr Lee wuz a lawyer (...he is long dead...), a West Virginia native, and an active participant in the legal issues surrounding the "Mine Wars" and the martial law issues. It is a great read. The cost, a whopping $12.00 dollars plus shipping. Highly recommended. leroy
  4. Richard:_____________ I didnt intend to stir up a hornet's nest or offend sensibilities with the first part of the post; it was an attempt at humor. Havin said that; the second part of the post is why i dont believe what some here believe they would like to do cannot be done. I'm in agreement with your opinions of what this bunch of would be dictators and autocrats would do if they could; i simply dont believe they can. Here are some details of why i think they cant do what they dream of; and it contains a bit of a history lesson. A variation on the nobama dream scheme of declaring martial law and enforcment via a national police force in the good ole USA was tried by the feds (...and some state governments...) in the union unrest strired up by the "Reds" and the "One Big Union" bunch from about the time of the 1890's thru the 1920's here in the usa when socialism was in vogue. The trouble started in the coal fields of West Virginia with the "mine wars" and spread out to the western states (...think west coast and colorado fuel and iron here...). The individual states and sometimes the federal government stepped in and declared martial law in the places where the unrest was the hottest; especially in West Virginia in the Cabin Creek and Paint Creek territories. Folks were, indeed, interred, and sentenced to prison without benefit of a "real trial" by military tribunal; including that noted radical union organizer "Mother Jones". Every one of these sentences were later reversed by none other than the Supreme Court of the United States. The court ruled that military sentences could not be handed down without proper trial in the state courts (...think "Due Process" here....). They further stated in general terms that "military tribunals" could not be convened and do their arbitrary sentencing as long as the local and state courts were functioning. They were functioning in this case. Said another way, the government just couldnt declare martial law and do away with the local and state courts. Another point to remember, is that the state government is the principal keeper of the peace in each state; not the federal government. The state government has to ask the fed in. I'm sure there are those who will opine that the Patriot Act allows for a "swift federal acton" in time of chaos (...whatever that is....). My guess is that the only place this can work out is in the big inner city locations with blue state governors and blue state mayors. I simply dont see this kind of thing happening where people who believe liberty live. I dont necessarily like our congressmen nor our present governor; but i simply dont see them goin along with any of this "swift federal action" stuff. It also appears that the Federal Appleals Court aint buyin this Patriot Act bunk either.... . A major portion of the "....were gonna hold 'em without trial or without charges 'cause they are suspected terrorists who happen to be american citzens..." provision wuz struck down the other day; and it appears that the "IN"Justice Department aint goinna appeal the decision. They knew it was unconstitutional to begin with. Do i believe that watchin what the government does and being suspicious of it is a good thing? You bet. They know we are watchin; and that's a good thing. Do i believe that opining on in in a forum like the TGO Forum is a good thing? You bet!!! Hope this asuages a bit of indignation. leroy
  5. They need this ammo to practice with in the secret war games they are staging to inter us all into the FEMA Camps after the Nobama election riots of late 2012 and early 2013. They need the practice. After all, it took two NY policemen, 15 to 17 shots, and 9 wounded passerbys to get one bad guy in new york the other day. They will confiscate the next one billion rounds of ammo right after the election. I would recommend checking to see if they have bought a billion gallons of aviation fuel for the FEMA black helicopters. .....looney leroy opining from the supersecret bunker deep in the hills of east tennessee. .... My real advice; quit worrying about this. We are an armed society. Who is gonna come and take your guns? More importantly, who is gonna suspend the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the State and Federal courts??? Who is gonna run over all the individual state governments and local police and sheriff departments to do all this bad stuff??? Food for thought. leroy
  6. I like it!!! Enjoy!! leroy
  7. I love the 1911 and the model 97!! Thanks for posting the pictures!! leroy
  8. Great pistol!! Great mods!! It looks great. All these pistols are great shooters. Please let us know how it does. Thanks for takin the time to post the pictures. leroy
  9. This is always a great show. Highly recommended. leroy
  10. The embasy wuz sold out by the Lybian "Guards". That's why every "real" soverign nation (...except us...) uses their own military to protect their foreign embassy grounds. All that being said; our current crop of politicos are too "smart" and too "reasonable" to do what other nations do regularly. The blame for this killin lies squarely on the hands of Hillary and her buddies in the State Department. They evidently made the decision to use the Lybian "Guards". When the US Embassy in Iran was taken over by the Kohmeni-ites in the 70's; the urban legend is that the original demonstrators marched and intended to take over the Russian Embassy as well as the American Embassy. The Russian Soldiers evidently racked their AK's and told the demonstrators to "...Get off the Motherland...". They did. The crowd evidently believed the Russian embassy guards. The demonstrators then went down to the US Embassy. The rest is the Carter 444 day thing ended by Reagan. RE: The "selling out" by home country guards. This is goin on everywhere with disastrous consequences for our servicemen and servicewomen. Look at what's happening in Afganistan and Iraq. The most dangerous group of "intellectuals" in the middle east is the current crop of politicos and career diplomats running our middle east policy. That is exactly why we should bring everyone home and let these ancient world idiots finish eachother off. We will never make any headway with the ancient world radical muslum zealots until we kill them until they want peace more than they want to fight us. We need to make them bleed on a massive scale. We simply refuse shed that kind of blood. Anyone who believes that we can "democratize" the ancient world zealots who have no notion of democracy nor any disposition toward it is either unbelievably arrogant, Providentially blinded, or simply intellectually dishonest. leroy
  11. Bring the troops home, let these idiots kill eachother. Smedley Butler was right; "....War is a Racket....". It's a bit dated, but i recommend that everyone who wonders what is goin on in the middle east (...or anywhere else we have a "strategic interest" [...what ever that is....]...) needs to read Butler's book. "War is a Racket". He wuz right. Link here: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_15?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=war+is+a+racket+smedley+butler&sprefix=war+is+a+racket%2Cstripbooks%2C409 .. It took me a long time to come to this conclusion; but Butler was right. leroy
  12. Thanks for posting this interestin story. leroy
  13. This whole thing could have been avoided. If ya do a search here on TGO (...and on line...), ya should find out more opinions about this incident than ya ever wanted to know. The news media along with everyone else needs to leave Rocky and Leon Houston alone. We do know that two people are dead, and that these guys have been tried three times and found not guilty. We also know that the State of Tennessee decided not to try to retry them. That should be enough for all of us. These are dangerous men and everyone (...including the news media, who tired to railroad them...) would do well to avoid a conflict with them. I dont know that these guys are crazy. I do know they wont be put upon. I also know that they need to be left alone. leroy
  14. Do we have any public evidence of these pronouncements made by this guy; or are they second-handed accounts? Remember, the Right Reverend Louis Farahakhan and the Rev. Jeremiah Wright has said some pretty heinous things. I remember some sixties hippies (....now they are polititians...) that said some pretty bad stuff. Wonder if they will be "evaluated"? Think about it a bit. leroy
  15. Spots:________________ The pictures remind me of when i wuz a boy; and that's been a long time ago. Used to help my grandad dig taters just the same way. What a wonderful window into the "old time ways" in a time when lots of folks think that taters come from the supermarket. Thanks for posting the great pictures. leroy
  16. Z:_____________ My son has bured a ton of powder thru a set of 51 navy replicas he got several years ago. They are his (...and my...) favorite percussion revolver. They just look and feel right. We always ordered parts from these guys: http://www.buffaloarms.com/ . These guys are good to deal with and have everything. Take a look at their website as ya have the time. Here is another little tip on shootin the navies: We loaded black powder, a lubed felt wad (...we made em by the thousands by buying a thousand or so wads, melting some thompsons bore butter in a 3 pound coffee can, and dropping the wads in the melted bore butter ...[...you can do this all over low heat on the stove...]. The wads will soak the bore butter up and make a great lubed wad....), then a round ball, with no lube on the ball. This loading method is quick, safe, and "non-messy". The lubed wads are just the ticket for reasonably fast reloading, and they are easy to carry in your kit. Have fun shootin your navy. leroy
  17. I suspect we are seeing pieces of the Patriot Act being dismantled a piece at a time. I dont expect that the real details of all this will come out; but it appears that the First Amendment won here. This one will be interesting to watch if it goes any further on either side. leroy
  18. Triple is right on with this answer. I believe it was, in fact, an attempt at harassment and intimidation. Evidently the old man is squeaky clean, or they would have found something ala Scooter Libby. I also believe that some high ranking Demorat from Arizona or other points southwest where there is border trouble gave some good advice to the demorat political operatives. That advice is "....dont rock the boat....". Arizona is pretty much a republican state except for the usual demorat strongholds around the universities and the moonbat larger cities. I also suspect that there may be some quietly spoken "quid pro quo" talk between the feds and the governor regarding bringing charges against demorat political operatives at the federal level. Ya just never know how some of this works out. I believe that several of the Republican governors have sent pretty strong messages to the demorats about heavy handed investigating and enforcement by the U S Attorneys (...who are, in fact political operatives themselves...). Remember, all this "witch hunting" and "investigating" works two ways. leroy
  19. Nice lookin 1911! I suspect ole JMB would approve. Enjoy and let us know how it shoots. leroy
  20. Razz hit a homerun here. The Republicans are on trial. If they dont do what they have said they will do, there will be a another party in 2016. The Demorats have already committed suicide with real people in this country. The Republicans are on life support. If the Repubs dont straighten up (...and there is a good chance they wont. Watch the infighting now. ....), a new conservative party will rise and what's left of the demorats and the statist republicans with morph into a "New Demorat" party. leroy
  21. Thanks for posting the pictures. I like the size/design of the Sig 290 myself. Please let us know how it shoots. Thanks again. leroy
  22. Sorry im so far away. Would love to hear the presentation(s). leroy
  23. Saw this on Drudge this mornin. I think it's great. These clowns are doomed. I believe they are Providentially blinded. I say: "....Let 'em keep on bein stupid and talkin loud!....". leroy
  24. I think this one is interestin, and should be carefully watched to its conclusion (...if it's public, which im betting wont be public --- until after the november elections....). Could it be that the provisions of the patriot act were involked and this guy detained under the provisions by a sympathetic magistrate??. Could it be that those provisions were involked and secretly heard, and a federal judge struck em down? There have been a bunch of First Amendment cases over the last few months, all comming down on the side of "free political speach"... I find this very interesting, indeed. leroy
  25. AMEN to QuietDan and Lester's posts above!!!! ^^^^^. Dan is right. I really like Lester's proposals on an anti-drone missle system and the "modest tactical nuke arsenal!! Keep up the good work!! leroy
