  1. back in 73 i started with a single stage press. in 85 i moved to a dillon, but kept the single stage press for rifle. still today i use a single stage press for all my rifle loads. i did once set up the dillon for 5.56, but i got better rounds from my single stage so i went back. sometimes faster is not better.
  2. the old hellbender 28 is one of the best roads to ride in the area. the sky way is first, the hellbender 28 second, and the dragon is third.
  3. anybody can ride the dragon. it is not hard of a road to ride. they keep the speed down with all the troopers on it now. it is hard to get over 30 mph on it. they say the hard road is the skyway next to the dragon. but to me both roads are ease to ride. it is a great place to spend the weekend.
  4. i would love to go,,, but i got to cut some tree that fell down on the farm. ride up the the store on the dragon, you will meet a lots of local riders.
  5. i got some old mil spec ones and some high dollar ones. they all work and i never had any problems with them.
  6. yes a real gun belt does do the trick. also a good named brand holster works well with a real gun belt. i have found the 5.11 dress gun belts work well.
  7. rode it for about two weeks and sold it to get more chrome and pipes.
  8. i sale on the world longest yard sale each year and i get the same crap every year. i don't have any flea market items, all high end old stuff. my prices range between $50 to several hundred. and i still get the two dollar bunch. all my prices are market and every body will asked what is my best price. last week was the worst in 9 years. by day three i would not get out of my chair to walk over to the customer,,, i knew they were not going to buy any thing, no matter if i cut the price or not.
  9. many mango seasons ago when i lived in miami i won a honda motorcycle on a one dollar ticket from cutler ridge honda. i went in to get a new lid and a saleman pushed a ticket at me. for one dollar no big deal. several weeks later i get the call that i won. i showed up on my bike (see picture left) to claim the new honda.
  10. nice looking job. they are not hard to build. i have done several over the years. i got one ready to build now when i find the time to start. what i do is find all the parts off other forums and gun sights. i got around $450 in this build with about 1/4 of another build waiting. i don't get in a rush, this rifle has been in the box for about four months now waiting for me to get off my butt.
  11. Academy and Walmart have the best prices in my area.
  12. it looks like 846 will do what i want. now i got to find some and more large and small rifle primers. time to go on the hunt for 8 pounds and lots of primers.
  13. I am looking at changing to a different powder for 5.56 (55 and 62gr) and 308 win (147gr). I have been using IMR 4895 and want to change over to the pull down surplus powders. Which pull down powder would work the best for both? 844 or 846? From what I can find it looks like 846 will work for both. So does anyone use 846 surplus powders for both? Also, do you think either of the two powders would work for 30-223, 7mm TCU, 7mm-308, and 30-06?
  14. trijicon is what i have used. they hold up well. many mango season ago i used some night sights from glock. they worked well also.
  15. started reloading in 1973. been some of the best times that i have in the man cave. i spend lots of money on reloading/casting bullets. but i save lots of money in the long run. i did not know that tennessee valley bullets was back in business. i have been looking for them. i got some bullets, primers, and powder from them eight years ago when i was passing through their part of the state.
  16. plus one on this. have fun while you are here.
  17. this is a hard one to answer. some gun stores i say no, see what happens then approach. others stores, the ones that should not be in business anyway beause the way they treat their customers i might get involed in some manner. that is if i realy wanted the gun.
  18. time for change, one person at a time. vote them all out, start with new ones. can not get much worst than it is now. but it will get worst, time for all to get ready. the bigger problem is the dead beats that we made by giving them everything that they have. it will take years to cull out the dead beats.
  19. both for below $1,700.00. what are you waiting on? you should have them at home by now.
  20. it is all ways the same old crap when it comes to gun control. we have a lots of other problems to fix besides gun control.
  21. good looking job.
  22. look for them to control the ammo. guns are not good without ammo.
  23. saw the first show. it was hard to watch. low class and makes us from the south look bad.
  24. i watch and listen to beck on gbtv. the big problem is that most peoples don't. they don't even watch fox news channel. they get their news for ncb, cbs, abc and cnn. which to me is all crap. so there is the bigger problem, no one will know what beck did except the small few.
  25. canning has started at my house. eating the old food stock, replacing with new. reloading and casting some lead.
