Ammo can stoves...Neat stuff
frankmako replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Survival and Preparedness
looks like a waste of a good ammo can. -
go over to the kel tec org site to see lots of info on the pf9. i use grease on the rails of all of my kel tec guns. they run better with grease. i do some type of f&b on them also. as for oil, i use chainsaw oil on the outside. it works better. i tried the johnson wax on my p3at once, it did not stop the rust. this summer the rust got so bad on the slide i had to reblue the slide. the only thing i have found to work is the chainsaw oil.

over the years i have sold several trucks, motocycles, cars, trailers, and farm equipment on graigs list. with the eight pictures now you can show all sides and inside with ease. i put in my ads that i will not respond to e-mails and text messages. i put my phone number in the ad by spelling out the numbers. i have found that 99% of e-mails and text mesages are scammers. when people want to see the item i will meet them in the parking lot of a public business. i take cash and/or bank check only and take payment at the bank. that way the bank can check the money/bank check to make sure it is real. i don't hold anything, it is first come with the money that get it. i show all known problem areas and give a bill of sale along with title when payment is given at the bank. but this sometimes does not stop the scammers from trying. just hang in there, add more rules to your post, drop the e-mail/text message, go with phone calls only. when they asked a dumb question tell them so, it stops the scammer fast.

The big question - concealed or open?
frankmako replied to Pat's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
concealed. open carry bring out the nut jobs in the world that get all up set when seeing a gun. so concealed is the best way to go. -
nice job. good color. i like the way the color blends. i was building one at least once a year. but, for the last two years i have slack off. got all the parts in the safe for one, but just don't have the time/want to/feelings to/ to finish the rifle. it has been that way for about two years. i keep telling myself i need to get it done.

the big thing i do for my glocks is to get a after market barrel for them so i can shoot cast lead. i like kkm and efk barrels. i have picked up several lone wolf 9mm conservion barrels too. on my duty glock i got the extended mag release and slide stop. they are no big deal to me, came that way from the arms room. i dropped in a 3 pound trigger bar in one of my range glocks, i can not tell much different over the five pound trigger. the five pound glock trigger will get better with age. stay away from the new york trigger. they up the trigger pull weight and were made for people that...... well can you say new york. night sights are ok and/or no big deal to me. i did change a guide rod on a g19 and g23 with a high dollar after market one. i could not feel any change in the gun. so no big deal again. so for me i feel it is best to leave thing just about much as they come and buy more/reload more ammo when it come to a glock.

i have installed and used all of the named brand night sights for the glock over the last 25 years. they all will do what they are make to do, show three dots in low light. all major brands are made well and work well. i got some that were put on back in the late 80's and early 90's. they are not as bright, but still work. but the real problem with night sights is when it hit the fan you do have have the time to focus on the dots. you will "point shoot". so for me night sights is not a big deal on any pistol i use on duty and/or buy. but if it makes you feel good buy them. but i would spend the money on ammo.

Inside Waist Band Carry uncomfortable.
frankmako replied to Jesse's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
it takes a good holster, larger pants, and a real gun belt to make it work. -

Ankle carry of all steel revolvers
frankmako replied to TNcitizen22's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
yes you will feel the weight different as the day wears on. for about 25 years i carried a model 36 in a ankle holster as back up on the job. but the last two years i have not been able to do so. i start out with the gun on and by time i get to the office my leg is hurting. i have all ways use good name brand ankle holsters,, cheap one don't work. i like the galco ankle glove. -
i got a rock river lar 8. if you look around you can find used ones around $1,000.00. don't know what new ones are runing at this time. they are one well build gun. no problems.
