Are all your other guns at the cleaners? I'll loan you some money to buy good beer when I see you next.

Shared this with a guy who did pro bicycle racing I work with. He loved it.

I want to be the one making the decision as to who knows I am carrying. Same as I don't flash wads of cash or have my address on the back of my shirt. If I want to stand out, boy do I know how to, but I would rather not. Means I get to avoid dealing with lots of aholes and general complications in my daily life. I am good with that. That's my right. (See what I did there?)

Rob So what kind of permits do you need to hunt in the National forest there?

Just like this Glock made Bubba feel special, that lipsticked up pig would too..... I will never understand people who want to take a new gun and make it look old on purpose. I guess kind of like the airsoft guys like their guns to look real, so they feel like real soldiers. Unless I buy a gun used, I like to put all the honest wear on a gun myself.

If you really have to stay in TN, I have heard good thongs about this place. Will cost you some $ though. http://loshboughhuntinglodge.com/ I keep meaning to get a trip to somewhere like Rob mentioned. Want to hunt hogs at least once.

I have both a Taurus PT92 and PT92C among other Taurus guns. I have an M9 and several Beretta 92s to compare them to. I see not massive flaws in them over the Berettas. Heck I even have a Gen1 PT111 9mm that has never given me issues. I refused to send it back in to get some unnamed $$$ amount or swapped for a gun that I did not have extra mags and parts for. I also have M&Ps. lol People have preferences and that is just fine for them. Generally though I find those that shout the loudest about top end priced stuff are really just shouting "Look at me, I can f##k'n afford expensive stuff!" Guns, cars, watches, etc. are all the same. They buy it because it is expensive, but expensive does not always equal best.

I lived there and had no idea. lol

When you want your toddler to have access to all your gear....

I dumped one side of the composter into the raised beds in the fall. Hoped that would avoid the volunteer tomatoes like we had all over last year. Lesson learned, We stopped putting tomatoes in the compost bucket. Been dumping the water my wife takes out of the aquariums into them too, I even added the carbon from the filters she replaced into the composter. Lots of nitrates in those.

Beware of sensitive deliveries via FedEx...
Ronald_55 replied to lock n' load's topic in General Chat
My understanding is they are suppossed to be back to requiring signatures. You know if a delivery guy can just sign it and not wait for you to answer the door he is gonna take the quickest option. I have everything that I can shipped to work just in case. -
Keep wanting to make a bag out of a side of black horse hide I have. Would live to see saddlebags if you do them.

I dealt with a few guys in Washington state and a BGC is required by seller and buyer there. So they can only ship through a FFL. Most of them charge $100 and up plus shipping.
-
My guy in the Tricities charges $25 for the first, then $8 for the next up to 4. (So 5 is $57, which is all 1 normal form holds) plus the $10 BGC fee. Pays to order in bulk lol.

I have a theory about these Gunbroker and eBay things that go for totally ridiculous prices. I think at least part of it if competition bidding it up and then not paying. Other than that though, I think some of it is a good way for people to launder money or pay for other under the table stuff. I mean there is a paper trail, but is the IRS watching every eBay auction? A seller could sell a bunch, then stop once the money is collected. The bank account being used is closed and the trail stops there. IRS is not chasing someone for a few thousand dollars in eBay sales. I mean eBay already collected the sales tax anyway. Not a million dollar a day turn over, but given a group of user accounts, you could move a good bit. eBay is not going to yell because they are making 12 or 13 percent on it.

So just to clarify, it looks like you are not talking about communication between family members at home (or on the property), but a static communication point to the outside world?
