I thought Wahlberg was playing Lt Murphy. And another actor was portraying Marcus from the little bit I caught in the clip it sounds like his voice naming his team members and he names Marcus, but never mentions Murphy.
-
May he rest in peace, and you and the rest of his family find comfort in the memories of the time you spent with him.

I agree if its your basic 220 in good shape with the extra mags , you are getting a gooddeal, he could probably get $600 with the mags. Butbif its one of the police tradeins with holster wear, with the extra mags its still a good deal, but probably more like $525 instead of 6. YMMV

There was one on GOC a few days ago i think he wanted 425.

The most stupid movie-firearms mistake i've ever seen.
pops572 replied to K191145's topic in General Chat
Silencers on revolvers. I just watched the pilot episode of Macgyver and there were 2 bad guys chasing him in a junkyard with their nickeled snubbies with silencers attached and the pfft pfft sound of shots. -
So are you guys finding them regularly where and how much? I sold mine after I got a Sig 938 now I want it back. I have been hearing stories of $399 and $409 but have yet to actually see any. What have you guys seen?

Does anyone know if it is streaming on the net Monday or later? We dropped our satellite and just use basic and internet now.

For those that havn't seen them, he is a newer maker. His name is Tim Shaffer and he does some excellent work and fast turnaround too. I now have 2 holsters from Tim. My first was the Avenger model for a 938, and it was very nice, fit and finish were excellent, and super fast turn around. The next one was the original "Snapper" for a 938, this was Tim's first effort on this type of holster and he was very willing to try out the design, and may I say it is awesome. Fit and finish are top notch and it will definitely not be my last. If any of you guys are on the fence about ordering from him, get your rear off and shoot him an email, he will most definitely get you your money's worth and quick too. I am not affiliated in any way, just a happy customer and wanted to share with you guys. I will definitely be ordering more from him as the need for more holsters arise. Here is a link to his www.defensivelineleathers.com/

Does anyone know what it costs to have a 870 Dura/Cerakoted? Any place local (north Nashville) that does it and what kind of turnaround time? I have this WELL worn security shotty that just needs some attention, but I got it cheap and Idon't want to put a lot into it.

Thanks guys, but I was wondering more like a mileage interval i.e. 50k, 75k.
-
Is there a recommended mileage interval, or just when they start squeaking? Its a 08 Silverado if that matters.

So there is this kid who has been posting in a group I belong to on FB about wanting to get into 3 gun and needing sponsors. He was born without hands. Here is a link to one of his videos. https://www.facebook.com/groups/173086389466171/permalink/423564961084978/ Just thought I would put it out there for anyone that might have a connection.

M&P .45 thumb safety issue....
pops572 replied to Grand Torino's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Just a FYI, make sure you pull the safety plunger and spring with the safety. Without the safety, it can dislodge and tie up your sear housing. And be careful with that little spring, it sure can fly. -
Okay you guys have me freaked out. I had never had a vehicle long enough to worry about it before now. I have a 5 yr old Chevy with 69k on it and just last week when getting the oil changed the guy commented on my tranny fluid being a little dark and Chevy recommending a change every 50k. I was kinda planning on changing it next time I had an oil change, but with all the stories of them going bad soon after, now I am thinking if it ain't broke.......
-
Just a thought, but you could call S&W customer service and explain the situation, they may have an upgrade service or something that would be cheaper than selling and rebuying. Or maybe their custom shop actually offers the service of cutting the holes and adding a safety?

Can I do this legally without going to FFL? Handgun trade question?
pops572 replied to a topic in General Chat
I know that they can purchase through a FFL with their station papers in whichever state they are in, but not sure about a FTF transaction. If they are willing to pay for the transfer or split it with you or if you are willing to foot the bill, you could go to a local FFL dealer and transfer to be sure. -
Here is a pretty good shot of the two holes, so you can see for sure. It is on the FDE frame, but it shows better than the black one. The pic is a little way down the page. Note the square frame plugs just slightly ahead of the lock hole and back from the slide release. https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&docid=GOt2zo1LmJd6-M&tbnid=aAee_XuVG8yXoM:&ved=0CAUQjRw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ar15.com%2Farchive%2Ftopic.html%3Fb%3D5%26f%3D16%26t%3D109501&ei=5w6NUai4GIqo8QTd4oGgBg&bvm=bv.46340616,d.eWU&psig=AFQjCNEz4yzTyjYbpczo5OTS6kdb5S4TJQ&ust=1368285268345649 And this for a really good look. http://modernserviceweapons.com/?p=1938

Yes without the square hole you are not going to make that frame a safety one without some serious gunsmithing, unless you can find someone to trade frames with. How old is the gun? Pretty much any made in the last 4 years or so should have the cutouts though.

This http://www.speedshooterspecialties.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=103_90_115&products_id=883 and this http://www.speedshooterspecialties.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=103_90_115&products_id=1188 will be all you need. And that arrow that you see is most likely the lock hole. I have not seen any frames with an arrow for the safety, unless it is a really new addition.
-
As long as you have the frame cut outs you shoupd have the safety block as well, all you need is the safety, plunger, and spring. 5 minute job if you can find the parts. I just did the swap with a member here last week. He wanted one I didnt, worked well for both of us.

A true Gen 1 Glock 19.

Very good choice is that the lightweight model? I used to have one of those, very sweet, but never could find a holster (I liked) made for it.

Have any of you guys adopted a child in TN?
pops572 replied to maroonandwhite's topic in General Chat
I worked with a man and he and his wife were foster parents that eventually adopted one of the children, truly one of those horribly sad cases parents both druggies dad killed mom left little girl with no one. This couple took her and went theu the adoption process, last I heard she was attending UT majoring in law. Anyway back to your question, he had a shotgun and .22 rifle and while they didn't expressly say he couldn't have them, he told me he got the vibe that if they were not in the home it would be better. Of course tey were being foster parents to a lot of troubled kids and such so that may play a bigger part than a straight adoption. However after they actually adopted, I know he did buy ashotgun. -
Does anyone know if you can use a Verizon Iphone with Straight Talk?
