  1. An updated version of a break barrel revolver in 38 special or even .22 Webly based auto ejecting of spent cases preferred. I think India was producing something like this a few years back.
  2. Another 70s memory fades away. "Love Will Keep Us Together" must have been on the radio 24/7 when I was a young punk. Not sure if I liked it or not as a kid or now?, but I know every note and lyric by heart because of the massive airplay. RIP Captain!
  3. I usually keep the lights and decorations up until New Years but this year I ain't feelin it!, so....... Changed up the Avatar to match my pessimistic mood including mushroom cloud. I'm sure I'll get back into my normal realistic and indifferent mood a few weeks into the new year, with a little excitement here and there to mix it up of course. Hope you all had a Happy Christmas and be safe on New Years anyways!
  4. I prefer story over action unless it's a war flick. Even then too much action bores me. Hope it's as good as it seems, I'm gonna try and see it over the Holidays.
  5. Welcome, Love to hear pro-gun pro-freedom folks moving to TN. I'm a West Coast refugee myself.
  6. The problem around here is no one got the memo that drinking and driving isn't acceptable anymore. I really need a side hustle though until my business grows a bit more. Uber would be ideal but not sure how many Uber drivers Cookeville would support. I Guess Tech students use it alot. Also at the moment I drive an 07 Focus. It's in better than average shape but not sure it's Uber worthy.
  7. Let us know how it's working out please. I'm looking for a side gig.
  8. It's newer with the thicker barrel in stainless.
  9. My mini gets consistent 3" groups at 100 yds with American Eagle 55gr. Because of what I hear on average accuracy of many basic ARs..... I've never felt a need to "upgrade" to one.
  10. I didn't know he was a total anti-socialist towards the end when he died of TB. Lot's of speculation on what he'd think of the state of politics today. He was pro gun though, thought it was everyone's duty to be able to handle a rifle. I tend to believe he would think that important if he were alive today. Especially when seeing the legislation being attempted in NY and the progress of intrusive technology in our lives. Social media is akin to Big Brother, albeit self inflicted it is becoming harder and harder to avoid. Now with smart homes and the likes of Alexa as well as a press that is little more than an arm of the Progressive/Democrat Party....... There is no doubt the fusion of technology and propaganda has caught up with his dystopian vision written all those years ago. I doubt this legislation will pass at this time but perhaps in the near future, if people keep trading freedom and privacy for temporary comforts and perceived safety.
  11. Another twist on the same theme. Clip from Fahrenheit 451. Destroy language that causes people to be unhappy or dislike one another. In a few generations people wont have the verbal means to argue or even the ability to think negative thoughts against one another, or better yet.... Authority
  12. Under the proposed legislation, law enforcement officials could investigate "commonly known profane slurs used or biased language used to describe race, national origin, ancestry, gender, religion, disability or sexual orientation; threatening health or safety of another person, or an act of terrorism." Double plus good New York! So who exactly is going to be investigating the bias or motives of the investigators? Seems like they are lumping in the politically incorrect and culturally ignorant or insensitive with terrorism and death threats. Another step to stifle free thought by taking away citizens rights who don't go along with Newspeak. I wonder if questioning the push for gender neutral pronouns or a silly joke about a Nationality will get you red flagged now? Or even not going along with Global warming being all man made or something that can be reversed?, I mean that's a deadly threat to the whole planet! Orwell is an author/prophet that the left and right try to claim as their own.....He was in some ways a mild Socialist but........ There is no argument! On this subject the left cannot claim he would be in their camp by any stretch.
  13. Not in Oregon anymore. A loan is a transfer and requires you go through an FFL unless I misunderstood what all the fuss was about before I moved away. Close family might have been an exception.
  14. Possibly but it's actually the truth. He has a bunch of my things including some guns. I've moved around so much it's just been easier to have him hang on to my stuff. I kinda studied up on it a bit before I flew a gun I left with him in FL to OR awhile back. Couldn't find anything against it in the Law at the time. This is a common situation for Military personnel and people who travel for work for extended times. Transfer laws in OR now make this impossible among friends and difficult with family members. You can't even lend a gun now there so you sure can't store one for somebody unless it's a wife or son if I remember. Hopefully laws in FL haven't changed since my last visit but I will check it out for sure beforehand. And for sure, if not sure.... Loose lips sink ships.
  15. Inherit is the wrong term I think. He gave them to me when I lived in FL a long time ago. I just never had a need or place to store all of them at the time so he held them for me. I still have a few more to get next time I drive down.
  16. My Dad in FL gave me a few decades ago. He keeps them with him and every once in awhile when I visit I take one back with me.
  17. Are you sure those guns were not his already and you were just storing them for him? I mean didn't he inherit them from you before he moved? Don't know FL law anymore and the age reqirements or TN requirements for that matter but I guess the purchase date would have to jive with his age and date he moved.
  18. Every couple of years some sociopath throws a heavy object off of an overpass seriously injuring or killing someone. Can't figure out how causing such misery can be entertaining to a person. You can see how other crimes make a slight bit of sense. A guy robs a store, he then has some cash. A guy steals a car, he has a ride and so on. But vandalism and random acts of violence? Lots of sick people out there.
  19. It states that there will be a cost for loss of property. I assume that's a buyback but who knows.
  20. Seems like a buyback is in order. What the heck did those cost anyway? I know some people were stocking up in anticipation after Vegas.
  21. I've got a technique I use for insomnia. I have an old mp3 player I load up with semi interesting documentaries or even better, lectures I swipe from youtube. Biographies, history, war, book discussions etc. The more boring the narrator or lecturer the better. Impossible to stress over problems while listening to a guy lecture about submarine warfare in WWII. On the Godfather..... Like broccoli or brustle sprouts, Never liked them as a young person but have since acquired a taste for them. Those movies are darn entertaining to me now.
  22. Cookeville has daily traffic jams, there is a shortage of average 3 bedroom 2 bath homes under the 170s but most first time buyers I see are lucky to qualify for 100k. New hotels, restaurants and retail popping up and being planned. Farm land is turning into subdivisions everywhere you look in all directions. Now's the time to stake a claim in the surrounding communities if you want acreage to live on in this area. I see no end to the growth in the near future. I just hope the growth is from people who move here to assimilate a bit, not to change the culture in a progressive direction.
  23. BTW, I wish I never sold that mini. It was the A team wood folding stock stainless version. Worth a bit more than I paid for it or sold it for I imagine now.
  24. I have no problem with what the media is calling assault rifles in civilian hands. I have owned a mini14 in CA in 82. I have a few things now that you are insinuating I think should be outlawed. I left the west coast to escape the gun grabbers. Wrote lots of letters to my Representatives and tried to vote them out year after year. I think the ATF is ridiculous on most things. They owe bump stock manufacturers money IMO but... You seem to be irritated with me because I don't think it's a huge stretch for the general public to think a bump stock =machine gun. The general public is against machine guns in civilian hands I'm guessing. So basically I'm not surprised bump stocks are verboten now. Not agreeing just not surprised. Reagan was a mixed bag. So is Trump. The other side not so mixed on 2ndA issues. I know, I was surrounded by them and they are unified on anti-gun issues.
