Oh man... I want to do this but I know Christmas is going to sink me this year.

Need a cerakote / durcote / refinshing guy locally
TGO David replied to plank white's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
The requirement for an FFL also applies only to the serialized piece that actually is considered to be "the firearm" by the FFL. For most handguns that's the frame. Sending a Glock slide, M&P slide, or other component that does not bear the serial number, you are not violating any laws. -
Haven't tried it myself but I got an email from their support distro saying a new version was available. I'll download it and see if installing it helps.

Mine is from YHM, as was recommended earlier in the post. You can fork out big bucks for a MOACKS for staking the castle nut, or you can do it with a punch and hammer and a steady aim.
-
That's pretty much exactly what will happen here. As much as I would like to think that folks won't ruin it for us, we already have photographic proof in this thread that some folks absolutely will turn it into a contest to see what window licker will be first to shop for Fruity Pebbles with an AR-15 slug across their back.

Barrel wrench or buffer tube castle nut?

Could be fun.

Jesse Ventura Sues Wife of Slain Navy SEAL Chris Kyle
TGO David replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in General Chat
So the Court of Public Opinion should carry more weight than the Court of Law? I'm not defending JV for being an asshole, but I do think we need to remember that Justice is supposed to be blind to the public opinion. What people think about you shouldn't override what the Law says you are entitled to, whether it is compensation for damages, freedom from wrongful prosecution, or the right to bear arms. -
Jesse Ventura Sues Wife of Slain Navy SEAL Chris Kyle

I follow Breach Bang Clear (www.breachbangclear.com) pretty regularly and have found that the Mad Duo are generally spot on with most things. When they posted an couple of articles this week about the Chris Kyle estate lawsuit, it made me take a second look. One in particular linked to a summary posted on The National Review's web site. There's some good reading here. There is no doubt that Ventura is an asshat, but maybe not for the reasons we have all come to accept. Hahaha... dude... you are FAR from weak. That which doesn't kill us serves only to make us stronger, which means you my friend are a bona fide bad ass.

Official TGO LG101 Pro Tech Buy in thread ORDERS NOW CLOSED
TGO David replied to willis68's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
My ZT 0350ST is going to be plenty jealous, for sure. I may have to make it up to the 0350ST by picking up a 0300ST to keep it company. Damn knives. They keep multiplying. -
Noooo... he'll get roped in by some dependapotamus and then he'll end up a slave to her and Tricare. I've never in my life suggested this to another man, but he might want to consider going gay even if long enough to get away from her. Currently he can't be declared a common-law spouse if they're same sex, and at worse he ends up with a tastefully decorated house and impeccable wardrobe. The downside is having to have someone else PIIHB, but let's face it... metaphorically speaking he's already taking it there anyway. :D

Official TGO LG101 Pro Tech Buy in thread ORDERS NOW CLOSED
TGO David replied to willis68's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I've got a Protech TR-3 coming to me and it will likely become my EDC. I've resisted the urge to carry my TGO knife in favor of keeping it as an heirloom. -
Welcome to TGO. Bear in mind that a lot of the people you see muzzle-raking people at gun shops are utterly and completely new to firearms but intrigued about owning them thanks to the recent political climate. Not an excuse for them to commit such a significant safety transgression, but an opportunity to educate folks properly when it happens.

If his next post isn't as a single man, I will disagree vehemently.

I think the acronym you're looking for is "PIIHB" ... and I don't think I'd risk the ice-pick she may be hiding under the pillow for that. Maybe I've seen Lethal Attraction too many times.

EJECT! Punch out, Goose! Run, do not walk. Get while the gettin's good. I can tell you with great authority that marriage does not make situations like yours any better. She's trouble spelled with all capital letters. Cut your losses, chalk it up to the fact that she's batsh*t crazy, and go find happiness somewhere else. You don't have to end up alone, but being alone is better than being with someone who devalues you and places ultimatums on you like this. Get a dog. Get a cat. Get a goldfish. Get a picture of a goldfish and talk to that picture if you have to. Hell, get a picture of Taylor Swift and paste it on the ceiling above your bed. But don't stay in this mess one second more than you have to.

Handgunlaw.US needs our support
TGO David replied to White Goodman's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I really hope folks will help. That's a valuable resource and we need to ban together in cases like this and show them some support. -
I think the people you're maligning are, to a large degree, doing about the only thing they can with the resources at their disposal. As has been pointed out, we have a society of tyrants occupying the government from top to bottom at both the Federal and State levels and that doesn't leave much for the voting public to work with. It's rare to find elected representatives who are truly on the side of the Constitution and the public, and they seem to be outnumbered and outgunned by the opposition. Visiting representatives in person or protesting outside their offices takes free time, and those of us on this side of the argument generally have very little of that to spare. Case in point, the Occupy Wallstreet types weren't commuting to productive jobs during the day and returning to their hippie communes in public parks at night. They were largely unemployed students and stay-at-home types (or homeless) and had nothing BUT free time on their hands. Even the most industrious spider can be overwhelmed by an army of ants. Besides, what's the return on investment for "us" to meet with elected officials who don't have a care in hell about the Constitution? Or who are so badly on the take via backroom deals that they would sell their own mothers up river if it meant another four-years in public office to grow their fiefdoms? I'm not going to rush to take time off from my job to meet with some bought and paid for bureaucrat who will smile, thank me for coming to see them, nod in feigned agreement as I voice my concerns, and then do precisely the opposite of what I've requested when it comes time for them to vote for my rights as an American citizen. The problem is corruption and it's getting harder and harder to put honest people in office and keep them honest, and almost impossible to get rid of the traitors already in office. The problem isn't disinterest on the part of gun owners. Just my two-cents worth.
